Have a new MacBook Pro with no Ethernet port this week.

This is a great adaptor to us I like it a lot yes yes.

The one I bought came in a box which was labeled, 1000 Mbps. Knowing that USB 2.0 maxes out at only 480 Mbps, I expected a device which would appear as a gigabit interface to the operating system, but flatline when the USB interface became a bottleneck. Mine only presented itself as 100 Mbps to the operating system on every computer where I connected it. Since the one I bought was open box, I wondered if the wrong device was in the box, but the model number exactly matched the packaging. When I looked the model number up on Insignia's website, it showed as 10 Mbps, so that was wrong too. In my case 480 Mbps would have been more than fast enough, but I refuse to use an interface which bottlenecks my internet connection and lies about its true specifications, so I returned it.

It does everything it should, well made, etc. However, it is a big PITA to have such a big dongle hanging from the laptop. Unless you need all those ports find a small, non-obtrusive adaptor to allow linking an ethernet cable.

We live in a wifi world, but sometimes you have to go back in time to an old-fashioned broadband connection. So this connector let me marry my USB outlet with an old-fashioned broadband plug. Yay!!

Cannot really rate this. I had gotten this when I moved Into a computer without Ethernet. The staff had no idea what to suggest. I’m this did not work for my purposes.

I was unsure of what was needed to resolve my problem. But the great team at Best Buy answered all my questions and recommend this device. I worked great and was at a reasonable price.

We needed a LAN connection for a Razor laptop and this worked great. We dropped it in the USB port. It was immediately Recognized and the machine was up on the LAN party all nite no problem.s

I purchased this to use with a Nintendo Switch and found that it required additional drivers that cannot be setup on a game system, so I had to get an alternate product.

My laptop's built-in wireless stopped working, and the laptop itself does not have an ethernet port, so this provided a solution. It works as advertised and is an economical solution.
