Too longer than it should to setup and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for Mac users it's not plug and play. they give you a CD to install some firmware to use it. except the software on the CD is outdated, and you'll need to find the firmware elsewhere to download it. but how are you going to download it if you can't reach the internet....because you need this dongle to get on to the internet. Catch 22. anyways. be prepared, download the firmware ahead of time when you're at a place with free wifi. oh and you won't find the firmware on Insignia's site, because they are useless. I follow the instructions on the book regarding software installtion and it wasn't working.I Read some instructions online. Come to find out.. all I had to do was plug it in :/ ... I have a hp envy 6th generation with no CD drive...Windows 10.

Does not work with newer operating systems.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very frustrated when I got this adapter and tried to connect to my router's ethernet with my mac running Mac OS Mojave. I read the manual which had horrible directions but guided me to a site where I could download the most recent drivers. When I downloaded the most recent drivers for Mac, I kept on getting an error when trying to install them. I also tried using this on my Nintendo Switch and could not get it to work on their either. Very disappointing. Returned immediately.

My daughter needed internet access in her dorm and I did not want to setup wifi for her. Her laptop did not have an ethernet port. This plugged directly into a usb port. Did seem a little overpriced.

A little pricey given how frequently it will be used...but is a "must have" given that the newer laptops no longer have an Ethernet port.
