He said this was just what I needed to connect my laptop directly to my cable modem. DID NOT WORK. After calling back to the store another associate told me I had to get the thunderbolt adapter from APPLE. Very frustrating.

I have a MacBook Pro without a CD/DVD drive, and this device comes with a CD to install the drivers required. I would have preferred this device (assuming sufficient performance), since it would have freed up one of the mini-ports. The path of least resistance was to take it back and get the mini-port version.

The description did not state that I would need a CD drive to run a program so the connector would work. I have a MacBook so if I don't have the connector to connect to the internet, then why did they assume I had a CD drive? Would have returned but not willing to pay for shipping.
