unexpected necessity

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a new laptop, and found out it did not have a Ethernet port on it, just WiFi. I was installing linux, and found out the WiFi driver for the chipset was only available in source form, So I needed an Ethernet to complete the install, and clone the WiFi driver from Git. I am getting old. I expect new computers to not have a tty serial port, but no Ethernet ? This thing is some generic Ethernet that will run on anything.

Great alternative to Ethernet card

For the simplistic approach and price that was unbeatable I tried it. The device worked great, a quick install from the CD that was included (or you can download the drivers) which took less than 3 minutes to install, plugged the device in and away we went. It has been installed for ~ 1 month now and absolutely no issues and the speeds are the same that we were seeing with a direct Ethernet connection.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I didn't have my router/modem plugged into a surge protector and a surge went through and killed both my ports on the router/modem and on my ethernet port on my motherboard! :'( I was using a wireless usb adapter, but found out that they made this usb ethernet adapter, this was 100000% worth the money. My connection speeds are at least 100 times faster than that wireless adapter I was using. (of course that one was pretty old... WNDA3100)
