Messed up my mac twice

I had an issue with my mac where the solution was removing this adapter and then reinstalling the operating system. I was curious so a week later I plugged it back in so that I could use my TV as a 2nd monitor again (HDMI port). Same result. It messed up my operating system (Monterey) and I had to unplug and reinstall a 2nd time. Its cheap and not even worth going thru the hassle of returning it. I paid more money for the equivalent Apple “dongle” and havent had an issue since.

Apple’s OeM reader does. So this device fails. Without charging connecting iPad to monitor is futile. It will run out of battery power. Frankly for what it os sold for, it is expensive. No different than a. Knock off reader you can buy from eBay.

The $45 price at first looked good against the Apple branded adaptor at $68. However, this item couldn't work with an external item without its own power supply where the Apple item will. I RETURNED IT AS IT DID NOT MEET MY NEEDS.
