I regularly had to try 3-7 times before my monitor would connect successfully to it.

This adapter does work for that. I was able to connect a mouse into the USB port and control my phone on the screen and it really looks like a Chromebook. My disappointment comes in when you connect a charger to the adapter. It is supposed to keep your phone charged but it does not. I suggest not mine this and buying the one directly from Samsung.

And it turned out to be horrible. The connection is very unstable and I had to turn the cable 180 degrees so that the wire is always under strain and could stay put, such that the connection was stable. And the USB port on this thing stopped working after two weeks of use. Horrible purchase. Moral of the story: never throw away the receipt or the packaging too soon. You never know.

When I have the USB C connector attached to my computer, the HDMI cord plugged in, and then my power cable in the USB C portion of this product, it does not charge. Regardless of any configurations I try, it doesn't charge my computer while I'm displaying to my monitor via HDMI. Very disappointed.
