Used it with a certified Qualcomm 3.0 quick charger and cable. Verified they charged at up to 8 v and 3.6 amp using a satechi usb-c meter. This adapter shows video well on my Samsung TV, audio synch is good. But pass though charging is not functional. My phone shows charging but the USB meter shows only 4.8-5v and 0.01-0.03 amp being passed through. No wonder the battery % kept draining even though showing it was being charged. Also tried a 2.4 amp Samsung OEM charger, charging rate didn't improve.

I did notice that when I would get to work, if I left the HDMI cable in the adapter and then plugged it into my late 2016 MBPR, my MBPR would recognize the monitor and the monitor would recognize the connect but no display would show. What I have to do is this... Unplug the HDMI cable from the adapter, than when I get to work, I plug the adapter into my computer and then push the power button on the back of the display to "wake it up" and then plug the HDMI cable in. Sure, it sounds like a pain but it is literally a 10 second step. Not cumbersome in the least bit. I do run the power into one of the other Type C ports. I figured it was senseless to over-load that single port when I have three other ports I can use.

Unfortunately this item is incompatible with the switch, even when powered by Nintendo's cable. Luckily it does seem to work well with my MacBook, which is why I give it the 3 stars.

When I first plugged it in the screen would lose its connection every few minutes and the USB hub didn't work at all. I unplugged the power cable from my Mac and plugged it into this device and now the monitor and the hub are working fine. It's a little annoying since now my Mac is only getting 60W and it's a 95W power supply. Apart from that it's doing a good job driving the 4K monitor.

It would however be better if they had more usb imports for things like charger, mouse, keyboard, etc..

I almost certainly would have purchased the genuine Apple adapter but it was out of stock the day I bought the new computer in December. Now I'm off to look for a solution because I need to use the superdrive asap....
