With my Samsung charger plugged into the adapter my phone said 4 HOURS until charged.....at 88%. While using this with the phone screen off and charging my phone battery dropped.

The good news is it will provide a connection to a USB A thumb drive and it will generate an HDMI signal. The bad news is it does not pass through the charging current made available at its USB C port. Indeed, it actually drains my tablet rather rapidly even when nothing is connected to either the USB A or HDMI ports and my charger is attached to it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The item was $49.99 whenever I purchased it (which is already ridiculous for a simple adapter) but I went ahead and bought it because it was the cheapest option available in store. It works for USB and charging (though poorly for the latter). However, the HDMI connection on this is absolutely disgusting. It registers once every 8 to 10 times whenever I try and hook it up to my monitor. So I'm constantly changing ports hooking it up taking it out, etc. Its incredibly annoying. For such a simple connection, I don't understand how something this expensive can work so poorly.

A no boon for me and the Essential PH-1

I bought this adapter in hopes of being able to hook up my phone to my TV. Unfortunately, HDMI didn't work. USB-C charging did work however. On the whole I will have to return this dongle.

My other one works and yes I know the device needs to be unlocked and at the home screen before connecting. Used all the same cables with my other one from a different company and that one works fine and this one doesn't. Really upsetting cause I brought it to a friend's house today specifically to play on the TV and then we couldn't. Returning.

If you disconnect and connect it back, it either stops charging or hdmi doesn't recognize the monitor. Totally waste of money and time. I bought this because there were no apple products available.

The HDMI port continues to lose signal, and I have to unplug and then re-plug to try to fix it. Only the USB-A port works. Very expensive for a USB-C to USB-A only adapter.

For some reason, my monitor won't reach it's native 60hz refresh rate on this dongle... Works fine with the Apple version. Pretty much a deal breaker, will be returning

I've tried every combination of things to try to get it to work properly, but to no avail. The Mac recognizes the monitor and the monitor recognizes a signal, but the adapter will not transmit a proper signal. There was even a time when the signal was transmitted and the screen was completely disoriented. The one positive thing I can write is that when it worked, it worked well! However, do not buy this product if you expect it to work!
