Mac should have a cheaper option because they took all the connector away but that won't happen of course. They'll always try and get you as much money. I also believe this should be included with the laptop, I mean it's not like Mac Laptops are cheap

The port is there so you can charge your phone at the same time while mirroring it to the tv... but it doesn't really charge your phone it just slows down the battery depletion a bit... if at all. Actually kind of seemed like your phone battery would die just the same whether you connected the charger to this device or not. But somebody told me afterwards about Google Chromecast, and that's a much better device to perform the same task.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even after courteous service and checking at Best Buy store before I left, the Samsung 24"Curved Monitor did not have the needed cable for my Lenovo Laptop Yoga 710.; and Samsung got it wrong, Lenovo got it wrong, and Best Buy got it wrong again. However, the good news is, a BBG (Best Buy Geek) told me the best way to avoid these problems is to take pictures of laptop ports or bring it in at accessory purchase time.
