    I bought this adapter to add an HDMI monitor to my Macbook Pro. The extra ports are great as you don't lose a USB-C/Thunderbolt port, which I use the pass through charging on this adapter. The extra USB 3.0 port comes in handy as well. Performance has been equal to the $69 Apple branded version, but for a much cheaper price. I've had no problems and would highly recommend this if you need to add HDMI to your Macbook Pro.
