Seems to do the job

I have only used it to try to get external screen to display after breaking the screen on my 2019 MBP, but unfortunately it only displayed the same dead screen when connected to an external TV monitor as what was showing on the broken dead screen of the laptop.

My husband did some price checking and the Apple version was $30+ (it was on sale for $29 but I waited and it was $44) more and said they use this brand at work and they work just as well. Son is happy with his adapter.

Only bought for work and because on sale. These are too pricey for what they offer. In this case the USB c port is power only. Will not carry audio like from USB c headset

Had to buy a special connector then for my old 2011 IMac then. Connection is different on new 2017 year iMac. I'm sure there is a good reason for it other than making me spend an extra $50
