The guy who helped me was very helpful and pleasant. He found what I needed within minutes. The adapter worked great!

Open box is the way to go whenever it is possible - it makes no sense to pay full price if you can find a great deal on refurbished items simply due to the box being open because someone bought and returned it, but it's still in perfect condition. Best Buy makes sure of that before they even put them on the floor for sale.
