Plug and play? depends on the HDMI socket!

I have 3 ports on my LG TV, only one port is "plug and play" connecting both video and audio. It is labeled "ARC" see photo (middle #2 HDMI port on this TV). The insignia box says "The USB-C port on our device must support DP Alt Mode." The USB-C port on my "device," macbook air, was not the problem. The box does not say anything about the port on the TV. Find your HDMI ARC port and the product is plug and play and works great. Just wasted an hour figuring it out.

this works but?

I can stream to my tv easily just plugging both in. But on some of my laptops it can stream auto at 60HZ but on another it streams at 30HZ. I just use the laptop that works at 60HZ rather that try to figure out the issue on my other laptop. Guessing it is a computer issue, but? take a chance , its not expensive.

I slowly and carefully plugged the USB connector into my computer and then with great anticipation I plugged the other end (HDMI) into my TV cable. Then the magic began - THE SCREEN ON MY COMPUTER WAS DISPLAYED ON MY TV!!! How awesome!! I just sat there with a dazed look on my face. I highly recommend this product.

Easy to connect to big screen TV via HDMI cable (purchase separately). Provides a more stable connection than AirPlay with other devices. I use a 25-ft cable to keep the cable out of the way.

Watch your movie apps on your tv!

We sometimes go to where they don’t have internet access but have newer TVs that allow us to use this adapter and a cable to watch tv. No more scrolling through random channels when we aren’t home.
