Reader works on my MacBook, my Linux desktop and my wife’s Windows 11 laptop. I got it for the compact flash reader but the SD / MicroSD slots work just as well. Reader comes with a normal USB connector and a USB-C adapter.

Reads my UHS-II SD cards fast
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using the Insignia Multi-LUN SD4.0 MicroSD UHS-II USB-C USB-A Card Reader to read a Sony Tough SD card that's capable of 300MB/s read speeds. The card reader seems to work well and the transfer of files from the card to my PC seems very fast, especially with a UHS-II SD card. The USB-C cable is certainly heavy duty and probably longer than it really needs to be, but no complaints. The cable comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter for PCs or laptops that lack a USB-C port. The card reader operates at USB 3.2 Gen 1, which is capable of 5 Gbps. While not the fastest out there, it's certainly not an issue. The card reader itself seems solid, built to hold up to use. It has a small blue LED that lets you know it's connected to your PC or laptop. It has rubber feet to protect your desktop as well. While the markings don't indicate which way to insert the cards, the labels should face the top of the reader which makes perfect sense. Overall, the Insignia card reader is perfect for using with my laptop both at home or out and about.

I'm in video production and immediately after finish a location video shoot we transfer files to hard drives so they are carefully preserved. I do the same with still photography shoots. So this helps me with efficiencies and ensures I don't lose my footage if something happens to the media card. Also, why I love coming to Best Buy. I was in a bit of a hurry and the sales associate knew exactly what I needed and found it for me quickly.

This was a replacement for a similar device that the CF card slot worn out. Since most computers don't have SD/CF slots this is almost a requirement for your SD/CF cards to upload/download data.

Then get a memory sd card and upload to this device. With in few minutes you be able to load more memories and history to cellphone. Easy to use and no extra power then from your phone to sd card transfer.

Must-Have for the MacBook!

Instead of turning my Mac into Apple for two weeks to have it repaired, I just opted to get one of these. It's very lightweight and works flawlessly.
