I don't understand why it needs 2 connectors. usb should be enough. I might recommend it for a laptop, or tablet, but not for a full sized computer.

Purchased this set of speakers for my late 2008 MAC computer. The internal ones were no longer working at peak performance, so I purchased these Insignia speakers. Speakers are very compact and when you look at the picture of them online, as well as viewing them in their original packing it appears that they have no stand. But when you insert the wire into the back of the speakers low and behold the speakers now have a stand. Sound is superior to the speakers that came with my MAC. The Insignia speakers are a good bang for your buck. You don't have to worry about plugging the speakers into a wall socket, as they plug directly into your USB. Nice! No transformers to burn out. Overall the sound is very pleasant and you'll be happy with this purchase.

The speaker broke after a few days of use. It was probably caused by a higher amperage on a USB 3.0 port. Try to use USB 2.0 instead.

Poor sound quality and not loud enough. I don't think I even got what I paid for.

I went in to Best Buy to purchase a set of speakers for my desktop, since my old ones had auto shut off, which is REALLY annoying! I also wanted USB connect. I told the Best Buy employee exactly what I wanted and he led me right to these Insignia speakers. GREAT price and WOW do they have great sound! Plus, they are the perfect size for my desk! I couldn't be more pleased!!!

I bought 2 pairs of these, i.e I have 4 of them, to equip my TV so that it sounds louder and better. As an easy and mobile user, I'm absolutely satisfied with them: They are reliable, easy to use (plug-and-play), the sound quality is fine for music, movies or gaming at this price and this input of electricity.

The sound was horrible. It was as if I was listening to my cell phone when it is on very low.

I bought a pair of these to carry in my laptop bag. I make a lot of presentations (powerpoint) and use video with sound. These speakers clip together magnetically, and together with the leads fit nicely into a little drawstring bag. The leads have a separate compartment in the bag. Today I held a lunch meeting, and we had the use of a big-screen TV but not the room's audio. These speakers came to the rescue, and the presenter was impressed - he is going to put them on his Christmas list. The design is well thought out, and would be great for a road warrior.

My mother bought these because her laptop speakers were too quiet. She likes to watch old shows on netflix so she doesnt need anything fancy. I spotted these and said let's take the gamble. I tested them on Spotify. The music quality was surreal given the price and size of the speakers. The volume goes louder than I will ever need and is easily powered by a USB port in the computer (which I can always convert with a wall. The magnetic hold for storage makes the speakers easy to store. I would buy these again 100 times because it really was fantastic for what we needed. This is coming from a real audiophile who doesn't buy cheap. I seriously recommend these speakers to anyone who wants a cheap pair of casual speakers.

They are small, powered by only usb 5 volts but on my Samsung Galaxy Tab, which is supposed to have great sound output, I noticed a huge improvement in sound quality. Only about 20% louder than the tablet speakers, but the tones are now rich and full. A much better listening experience. And for on the go, I power them using a Mophie battery charging power pack. With it's dual usb ports, I can power both the tablet and the speakers on the go. Nice!

I got a pair of these for a small kitchen flat screen and am very pleased with the sound quality, especially for the size and price. If you have a tinny sounding small TV with a USB port, this really fits the bill as an inexpensive fix.

Easy to set up, and surprisingly sound very well for their size.

My Asus laptop has the most disappointing sound for a high-end laptop. These speakers really improve the sound quality and volume. They are very convenient since they are USB powered, no additional AC plug needed. Higher volume levels do have some distortion to them, but I didn't buy these to "rock out", just wanted to actually be able to hear music and movies clearly without having to use earbuds. Good deal for the money, would recommend and buy again.

Was looking for a pair of cheap USB-powered speakers because who has room for another DC inverter on their power strip? Picked up a pair of these. The cables are short. Like utterly uselessly hilariously short unless you have your computer on your desk and you intend the speakers to be less than 3 feet away. The other issue I have is the cabling and how it all hooks up. There's this odd USB connector that has two wires sticking out from it that connect to each speaker, as well as the stereo plug. My right channel doesn't work at all, and the packaging was thrown away so it looks like no return for me. I suppose I'll be building a new amp and cables for these things in the hopes that they can find a use more productive than as landfill. There is no volume control on the speakers themselves-- apparently the amplifier is in the USB connector? So weird. These things basically suck, but in a pinch they might work OK for a laptop if for some reason it didn't have speakers built in, or if your desktop PC is actually ON your desk.

I suppose I'm dogging these speakers a little harsh with the 3-stars thing. For the price (very inexpensive), they do the thing making sound. Problem is when they are not doing anything, they pick up all kinds of stuff and then click, or hum, or make this ticking sound like a metronome hidden in the neighbors apartment closet that abuts your headboard. Eventually I will put these in the garage attached to a wifi-only tablet for use while playing darts with Aaron the next time he visits from TN.

I needed a quick set of replacement speakers to use with my new monitor (it has no sound, as I moved from an actual television), but I didn't want one that used AC power due to a lack of space, so I opted to try these out. With my Razer Blackwidow mechanical keyboard up top, it was easy to route the audio port and the USB power to the keyboard, which has its own ports that use pass-throughs to the main computer I/O, so the cables are tidy. The speakers work as expected, not top-of-the-line but good enough for normal use. I am picking up some "noise" while the speakers are on and nothing is playing, but it's relatively minor.

I bought these speakers for my husbands tablet. So he can hook up the speakers to have more sound. The speakers are well made and come in a small carrying case. They hook right up to a USB, so you can use them with a computer or tablet that has a USB input. They are pretty loud for the size and definitely worth the price.

Speakers work very well. The sound is clear. I am satisfied with this purchase.
