||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I admit my lack of questions led to this, but as I returned to Thailand and tried to use this the first time the computer tells me there is a problem and use a different cord. I now realize it clearly says for mac book. So its useless. I did depend on my sales person to know what I would need(something compatible) and grab the right thing. Since I teach in Thailand and need this to use any overhead projector as my computer does not have the appropriate port, what I spent 20 dollars on and will cost me twice as much here, is useless.

The right adapter

It's a bummer that everything needs an adapter these days but it works. Maybe not as good as Apple stuff has worked but I'm still satisfied with this adapter. There's a few glitches where I have to unplug it and plug it back in but it works after thAt so I'm not complaining. I baught this as an "opened" box, which made it cheaper so that was nice.

I needed an adapter to use with my computer and an older monitor as a secondary display. The adapter failed to be detected. I know monitor is not broken -- so this cable might be or it is not compatible with my computer somehow... Most likely it is meant to be used with Mac products (which was not listed on the box and it is here on the website). I will have to look for a different cable.

It worked great for a few days, then one day it didn't work, then the next day it did. I contacted Insignia because there were no drivers available. The response was simply "stay tuned.'
