I connected through a KVM switch and it works as expected. I did try another product bought via Amazon where the screen kept flickering and turning off, but no such problems with this Insignia adapter, well made and works reliably.

I love the bass… and all of its sound, I like to feel the beat within my soul… and these do it. Only thing is it can be difficult to take them out. Other that that… perfect… including the price !

This adapter is intended for situations where you have a VGA output on a device and need to connect it to a new HDMI monitor. It works great, even with a thin client that only has VGA output to connect to an HDMI monitor or TV. The lack of drivers is a huge advantage, especially with thin clients where loading drivers might not be feasible.

I tried connecting it to a TV using the HDMI. It would not work nor see it. I was going to get a USB to HDMI converter when I saw this. I was a little nervous about it. It hooked up easy and works great.

Absolutely worked to resolve my dual monitor needs

This resolved my issue and I did not need to use the usb (that's for sound as I recall). Though it should be noted, this device will only support up to 1080p which means that my monitors have two different resolutions. I'm not willing to dumb down both to match. But since I use it for work, it's not an issue. If you need the screens to match at a higher resolution, you will need to look at upgrading your graphics card as the limitation is the VGA output, not this adapter.

Best buy does have a good selection of adapters, but the in store inventory is low for some items. Bricks and mortar should have physical items for immediate purchase, not tags directing you to the internet. The JVC cameras are one example.
