I initially was intrigued with this speaker sorely because of it's "cheap" sale price. But I was pleasantly surprised how nice it actually is. Sounds are good and I really like the clock display.Portability is a definite plus. The only thing is it's large size... maybe too big to easily carry around.

I bought this speaker to replace a Google Home mini. Originally I was going to replace the mini with a regular GH. However after reading reviews of how much better the bass was with this unit and also the cheaper sales price, I went with it.The sound is ok in the low and mid but the highs are lacking. Also, as others have mentioned, not all features of the Google assistant have been released to the insignia unit. No phone calls or broadcast or the new feature realsed today (set music alarms) for now but maybe in a future update, who knows. For this reason alone, I will not buy another 3rd party Google assistant unless the updates are equal for every device. I'll keep this one though because the portability of moving it from one room to the other and to the backyard or patio, is a great feature.

speaker has a decent sound and portability is great. I miss the USB port of the non portable version and wish they upgraded software to be able to make phone calls. But google works great. I control my lights, get directions sent to my phone, play music for my dog when we are away.

This is a great smart speaker. I have this one and the portable one. Both have very good sound. The ability to use Google Assistant to choose what to play and being able to group this speaker with other Google Assistant enabled speakers makes it leaps and bounds ahead of regular Bluetooth speakers.

I love my Google Home Mini but the speaker is lacking and if it gets unplugged, it has to reboot back up. This everything I love about that but better. Sound is great and the built in battery let's you take it places. Would recommend to anyone. Big fan of Insignia products and this doesn't let me down.

I am not tech savvy & I am skeptical about products that have or require too much personal information about you (ie. google home or Alexa etc.) My bh waited until Christmas to get the google home, I wasn’t exactly thrilled at first but learned very quickly to appreciate it & all its wonderful features. It was quite easy to set up & start using. I love listening to music & the news & with my schedule I don’t have the time to sit & watch it. This is an absolute plus for me to be able to listen to the news & get updates as quickly as they are available. Its absolutely fantastic that I can listen to it in every room. We bought enough speakers for all the bedrooms, tv room, liv room & kitchen. The kids love it & use google to help them solve their math & science homework. Also it helps us all during our debates. My family love to debate. The only downside is trying to keep the kids from using google to do their homework. I would definitely recommend this product. It’s great for the entire family.

If you want something to take outside and be able to move it around, this is the speaker for you. This allows you to move it wherever you want with a 5hr battery life and it is hands free because Google assistant. This speaker also gets very loud and works perfectly for an alarm clock.

the speaker works just like it should. Stuck it in the corner in the kitchen and it sounds really good. The sounds the best when it's put in a corner and then the little extra bass comes out of it. Speaker gets pretty loud. When you've got multiple Speakers Going that helps out a lot.

This review is of the larger of the two Insignia speaker/alarm clocks with Google Assistant. They appear to be identical with the exception of the size, the color and the fact that the larger one has a better speaker. The device was easy to set up and get operational (you need to install the Google Home app if you don't have it already; if you have it, the device practically installs itself); once online it automatically downloaded and installed the latest firmware update. It's responsive and practical (with the always-on clock display and the display of the outside temperature when you check the weather) and does about everything that a Google smart device can do (it won't make phone calls). But the best thing about this model is the speaker. The sound is very, very good for a stand-alone device, particularly one at this price. I was quite surprised at the sound quality. It can get down to as low at $30 on sale (it's part of this year's Black Friday sale at Best Buy) and you can hardly go wrong with it.

I bought two of these and three of the smaller non-portable ones. The larger, portable speakers are worth the price difference as the speaker is much better. These do everything a the google mini can do but added bonus is they are portable, better sounds quality and have a built in clock.

I bought this solely to use as an alarm clock because of the display in front of the product. Google Assistant is just an added bonus as is the portability. This model is bigger than the wired one and has better speakers. It's portability is also a plus although I leave mine plugged in 24/7.

The Insignia Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker and Alarm Clock with Google Assistant is a simple to use product. We love the portability for using outside on those nice summer days! It is easy to set up. The Google assistant helps organize your day to day items making it a great time saver!

This speaker works great, and is a perfect alternative to the google home. The speaker in it is much louder than the google home. Also it has a 5 hour battery charge so i can move it around the house with me. The only problem i have is that when it is at 100% volume on the speaker google can not hear me.

Servers the purpose. Portable but still could be more sleeky. The alarm does not work initially after set up but will pick up after a couple of days. Volume is great. Set up with the app is a little tedius. Overall, the experience is satisfactory. No complains so far.

When I got this speaker when on sale, I was not expecting it to be this good. Sound quality is great and google assistant works perfectly with this. I liked it's charging capability and it works up to 4 hours while fully charged. Alarm clock functions work great too.

Love this device! Connected to my Google account. The sound quality when playing music is great!! You can unplug and use it wirelessly. I world take it outside to listen to music while in the pool, it is fantastic! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The setup was a little confusing, but once it was connected it worked great. The sound fills a room, the battery is Handy if you're playing music and you want to carry it with you, plus the clock is a nice touch so you don't have to ask. Overall a great value product!

This speaker is a great small-ish bluetooth speaker with google assistant. It's classified as portable - and it is, but it isn't necessarily light or small. But - if you just need something that isn't TOO heavy and won't be moved TOO much, this is a great speaker for a great price!

Love it. I also purchased one for each of my brothers as well for Christmas gifts. Wonderful for the price, and has become a vital part of our morning wake up. Awesome source for news, weather and daily joke for the day.

I already have the standard model and I love it! The rechargeable internal battery adds the ability to move the device from room to room - or outside to listen to music and more! Google Assistant is really good. I use it to control lights, my Android Sony TV and my Nest thermostat!
