Great speaker

EQ and calling feature now enabled!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.EQ and calling feature make this speaker totally awesome. I wasn't sure Google would enable these features on a non Google device, but they came thru!!! Adjust bass and treble and set up the calling with the Google Home app on your Android or iOS device.

Great product at a bargain price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid a promo price of $25 for this smart speaker that performs as well as my $120 Google Home and it has the added feature of battery power. Purchased this Insignia product to augment my current Google Home. Set up was fast and simple as I already have the Google Assistant app on my smart phone. Bluetooth connection was also fast and easy. Sound quality is comparable to the Google Home; not great but acceptable for such a small enclosure.

Good product for the "Sale" price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup and works just fine. One little thing that's kind of funny. When there's a commercial on tv for a google device and someone in the commercial says "OK Google" and then asks their question, our speaker answers their question.

Take this product off the shelf.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start off by saying that I personally never leave reviews. Unfortunately, I feel I have to share my experience with you all. I started out looking for an alarm clock that was also a wireless speaker. After a bit of research, I was eventually seduced by the idea of being able to control the alarm clock/speaker with my voice. In a world of technology, this seemed like a very convenient option. I eventually landed on this Insignia clock/speaker. (I will add that the sound quality is above average for the price) The "Pro's" end right there. Being that I was purchasing this mainly for the alarm features, all I really ask for is that the alarm actually works. SPOILER ALERT: It doesn't (always) work. The 2nd day I had this product the sound from the alarm never sounded. I woke up 35 minutes late only to see the time flashing (as it does when the alarm is supposed to sound) but no actual sound coming out. Nonetheless, I was late for work. I checked the volume, good to go. I checked the time of the alarm I set, good to go. I checked the connection to the wifi (as if that matters?) and yes, you guessed it.....good to go. The 3rd-6th day, the alarm functioned properly. On the 7th day, once again.....NO SOUND at 6:00am when I am supposed to be waking up to start my day. I find this very troubling. The alarm worked a few times, which lead me to believe that maybe I was making an error somewhere and gave me false trust in the product. You cant have an alarm that only works when it wants to. The moral of the story is that this product is not a good product. In a world of constant demand, this product is not reliable at all. I even tried the larger and more expensive model, and yes you guessed it.....SAME PROBLEM. After nearly a month of buying and returning various Alarm/Speakers, I gave in eventually and purchased a Sony - LF-S50G Smart Bluetooth Speaker for $199 and I have to say its a fantastic product, and I highly recommend saving your pennies for a few more weeks or days and splurging for this instead. It has a great look, sound, functionality, and well.....you guessed it, IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Thanks for reading, - A very upset customer.

Ok
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This speaker is ok. I caught it on sale @ $25. I wouldn’t have gotten it at$150. I don’t think it gets loud enough. For the price it should be much louder. The sound is good, google great. Over all nice speaker.

Sound Cuts Out On Low Volume
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Insignia speaker because the sound was better quality for music than the Google Home. However, I wanted it in my bedroom where I would also use it to play low-volume sounds (rain/ocean/etc) for sleeping. When I set the volume below 25%, the sound cuts in and out constantly, enough to bother me into staying awake. I thought I had a faulty unit, so I exchanged it for another, but it had the same problem. I guess I could recommend this to someone, but not if it's to use in the bedroom for soothing low-volume white noise at night.

Good Until It Started Resetting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I go through the set up in the Google Home app, then a day or two later the front says"SET" and I have to go through set up again. This has happen many times. I have tried resetting(pin hole) and factory reset(hold power/mute button until lights turn amber). The speaker will show up in the Home app as a linked device, but also as a new device. I also have unlinked it in the app and tried set up. A day or two later it does the same. I'm wondering if mine is defective. Before this and when it is working it is good. Good sound and great portability.

Great for $40
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think it sounds as good as the Google Home, especially the bass tones, but it's nice having the clock showing. The more I listen to it, the more I think it's a great deal for $40.

I was sold a faulty product that I cannot return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently moved to Canada from US on work, hence requested a friend to bought me the Voice Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker and Alarm Clock with Google Assistant - Black(Model: NS-CSPGASP2) as he was visiting me. He ordered online and picked up from the Dorchester, MA BB store. When I connected the device to setup after a week of purchase, it was not recognizable from google home app and eventually lost all displays. Next morning, when I contacted BB Customer care and ended up talking to the Tech department, after spending a lot of time in troubleshooting they declared this as a faulty device and suggested to replace or return. The weird part was an extra Reset button at the bottom of device that was available only for my device – yes, neither the device in Tech department that was referenced by their personnel during troubleshooting nor the product manual had that button. The technician thought that a Beta hardware was sold to me. Since I am in Canada and does not have an easy or cheaper way to send this to USA, Return or exchange does not seem to be an option for me. I wanted this device so bad and went through a lot of hoops to procure and now feeling helpless. Until now I had good experience with best buy purchases both in USA and Canada and never thought that this could happen – a beta device was sold. I still do not have any solution to this matter that doesn't involve me having to spend money to return an item that doesn't work and get a replacement at no extra expense.

Bigger than expected, and issues with speaker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this speaker online when it was on sale. It is bigger than I expected it to be, but that's not the issue. I have upgraded my home with a large number of Google Home devices and for the $28 I bought this speaker for, it seemed like a great upgrade to my alarm clock in my room. I previously had a Google Home Mini and had it routines that allowed me to set a alarm and play music to go to sleep to. This unit seemed like a great way to also have a Time Display. It works great in every way except one - and it is a big one. I wanted this unit to stream music at a very low level, however, starting at about 20% volume and lower the speaker starts to cut out during some songs. the lower the volume the worse the problem. It is almost as if there is a limit switch for the "amp" in the unit. It is worst with classical music, but almost every genre of music seems to have the same issue. SO depending on how you want to use this device it could be just fine or, in my case, a large disappointment that has left me wondering if I want to keep it or not (I'll probably keep it and use it elsewhere.)

Works well but could be better

Doesn’t connect to wi-fi
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, couldn’t wait to use this speaker. Google assistant built in a plus. But I was very disappointed. It would not connect to google home at all. I tried multiple times using two different note 8 and it will say connecting and never connect through wi-fi. It did connect through Bluetooth but through the google home app it wouldn’t work. So to say the least it’s just another Bluetooth speaker. Sound quality not the best. Compact, digital screen, otherwise sadly not a contender with just Bluetooth capability. Would have loved to test out the google assistant.

Posted .Hi,
Congratulations on your new Voice Smart Bluetooth Speaker. We want you to enjoy all of its features.
For the setup process to be succesful your phone must be on the same WiFi network as the speaker. Please try to configure the speaker close (6 feet) to the WiFi network to make sure the connection is not interrupted.

Stopped working after 1 month (CUSTOMERS BEWARE)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really hoping to write a good review about this speaker, but unfortunately, I can't. The first few days worked just fine. After 3 weeks, I started having issues with it, where it would lose connection to WIFI (it is the only device in my house with this behavior), it would also get a message that the Speaker has not been setup (after performing the setup multiple times), and the screen says " Set" or "Net", sometimes I come home to see the device has completetly been shut down itself. The most irritating part of all this is when it starts saying that it cannot find a connection in the middle of the night while I'm trying to go to sleep! (or already slept). As usual, BestBuy won't do anything as it's been over 2 months. ( I already called and asked the Irving Store) . So, now I have a device that I can't even return. I should've just gone for a major and better brand and not INSIGNIA.

Lacking in key areas
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a Google Assistant device the Insignia Voice works well. However, the features which should make it stand out fall short. - First, the sixty second temperature display ... why is the temp only shown for such a short time and why only after asking Google what the temperature is??? Why bother to display a bit of information that Google just told me? - The second problem is the display. I can find no way of turning the brightness down ... in the bedroom at night it is overwhelmingly bright. - And finally, the display is too small to be easily read at night without my glasses ... typical bed side clocks have a much larger display.
