I purchased three of these for two purposes. First, they are alarm clocks for my children. It's easy enough to set them for that purpose and they work well enough. Second, to stream music using Google Play Music family. It works well enough for that as well (as soon as I upgraded my router to get WiFi across the whole house). Each kid needed a Google account to voice match them to their speaker, easy enough to set up - it recognizes their voices just fine, then add that account to the Google family profile. Does it include everything the OEM Google stuff does? No. It's it good enough to get a speaker each of them can play music on in their rooms easily with decent sound? Yep. Will there be an update? Who knows. Setup wasn't always clear on the unit. It will probably need to connect to the internet and update before the Google app is able to finish the installation. That wasn't perfectly clear. Once that's done, it works well.

This speaker is pretty large (so read the dimensions) but still works great for a nightstand. I've noticed that the longer I used the speaker the more it gets better with the commands it can do. The voice recognition is superb. It recognizes me, even if my voice is low, standing on the other side of the room, and even with the music blasting. I feel the sound quality is pretty decent. The sound is deep and rich and it gets really loud. I purchased the smaller version to this speaker and placed it in my living room and made a speaker group, and so I play music from both speakers at the same time. You can also make phone calls using google voice, but you cannot receive phone calls. I have an iPhone and so I believe android phones will allow the google assistant to perform more actions regarding text messages. The temperature display only lasts for about a minute or so once you ask google the temperature. Overall, good speaker despite its slightly bulky and large size.

Sound quality and loudness compares well with products that range from $100-$150. It's more than enough for the bedroom, and since it's portable, you take this to another room and have this play music while entertaining guests. This is model is louder than the non portable version since it packs an extra driver. The fact that this is also a pseudo alarm clock as well makes this an easy buy for the bedroom if you are okay with always connected cloud devices. The clock also dims at night, so the amount of light it casts doesn't seem to be distracting. I wish some my other electronics did the same. Suggested uses are obvious, like asking Google to set an alarm and linking this with smart home lighting and devices. Others are only discovered after doing some reading, like asking it to play relaxing sounds when you go to bed...which is pretty cool. Definitely worth searching the web for various tech editors and bloggers about their favorite Google Home commands.

I bought this speaker when it went in sale. It has decent sound and has a dimable clock display. It works flawlessly with my Google home. The built in rechargable battery allows you to move it around temporarily. It also allows for Bluetooth pairing if your not connected to WiFi.

This Google Assistant speaker was very easy to set up. The clock functions as expected and alarms are easily set by voice. The sound quality is much better than the Google Home mini. Bluetooth works very well. I have purchased a total of four and don't regret my purchases.

I'm still amazed that I was able to purchase this item for the price that it was sold for during Black Friday! Smart products should be a space saver and not an addition to what one already owns! I don't know why but I'm really amazed that I can get information from my alarm clock! Was never really amazed that my computers or phone has A.I. assist but it just seems more amazing when it's something that I actually need that does the same thing! Who doesn't need an alarm clock? So instead of adding an additional speaker to the limited space that I have in my apartment, I simply replaced an outdated clock that I had! A clock that I can talk to for advice, that does what I tell it to it to, and is a wealth of information. Plus it looks sleek and plays music better than the usual alarm clock that is really dumb in comparison. I really see such items as our future. Smart item's that we need that just do way more than they use to do!

I happened to see these on sale for $25 each so I thought I would buy a pair to try. I really wasn’t expecting much... To my surprise after setting the EQ in the app (bass to 6) the sound was great. I paired both together as stereo speakers in bedroom. Volume 1-8 sounds very clear - 9 - 10 just to loud with a little distortion / atleast with the song I was testing them with. I love the stereo sound of my sleep playlist. Besides that! It’s a google home with all the same google home features... I have a lot of smart home devices and I’m deep into Amazon Echoes, but being a gadget freak I have both set up to control my devices / if one gets finicky, I’ll use the other. I will buy more when I catch that sale again...

Great alternative to the much more expensive Google Home. Sound quality is close and much better than the Home Mini. The built-in battery is the best feature, allowing you to pick it up and take it outside, to the garage, etc without the need to plug it in.

Grabbed this thing when it was on sale for $25. Was honestly surprised with how much value this thing has. The sound quality is definitely better than a standard Google Home and the Mini obviously can't even compare. Integrates well with my smart home devices. The microphones work great and are capable of picking up my voice from anywhere in the room. After a software update when I first set it up, I was able to make calls using it no problem. Love that this one has a battery built in as well. Makes it a great speaker to grab and take into other rooms, or outside when we're hanging out on the deck. I own two of these, which works great for creating a stereo group for audio. Definitely recommend this product.

I got this speaker on sale and decided to give it a try because I wanted a google home mini in my bedroom but decided on this instead. Overall I like this product because it can do anything a google home mini can do plus it is an alarm clock as well. It also displays the temperature for a few minutes when you ask google what the temperature is. I like that it is portable and the sound when playing music is definitely worth the discounted price if you want a Chromecast style speaker and want to create music groups in the google home app. My only gripe about this speaker is that it doesn’t have the USB port in the back of it like the smaller version does which comes in handy when you want to charge something. I’d recommend this product to anyone wanting a google home mini somewhere in their house, this is better than a mini and can do more. I would purchase again if a found a need for another one.

The product arrived at my door step as BestBuy promised – securely packaged, on time! I am overall pleased with this speaker. It has nice look, not heavy and very good quality sound. The setup was very quick and easy. If you have good account you can attached the device pretty quick. You can see the time and temperature on the display and volume increase/decrease buttons are touch screen and invisible! Bluetooth is connected using paired devices. If you have YouTube Red account then it’s very useful. Otherwise its going to search mode and start playing related audio. The speaker is good to use indoor and outdoor. The sound gets little distorted when playing on highest volume. Its translating English in any language which is amazing and sometimes makes me laugh! Overall, it is a good speaker and assistant, especially if you get it at a low price. I would recommend it.

Picked this up for only $60 on sale and the sound is awesome not to mention the google apps that can answer all your questions and lots of local information. It will even tell me how long it will take me to get to work in the morning. Works great as an alarm clock too.

Bought this one for our motorhome. The sound is full and streams easily from our phones when Wi-Fi is not available. Love that you can ask it SO very many things; weather, volume control and to turn off the display, among many other. Love it!

I enjoy this Google home speaker a lot more over the basic one made by Google. Having the small display for the weather alarm clocks and volume is a lot more useful and better for when you maybe missed what it said. The built in battery makes it really useful for carrying around the house when needing to use it as a speaker where a Google home isn't. I wish the battery would last longer tho 3 hours is kinda short in my opinion. Speakers in the system are really good and can fill a room quite easily with a good amount of bass and power. I bought this system when it was on sale for $25 so I cant complain too much and value for what it does is out the window. I wouldn't really buy a Google home price at normal price so I'd say check for the deals on this speaker to get it for cheaper.

I bought this as my first Google Home assistant. Description says nothing about it having a subwoofer. Box says 8 watts and subwoofer. I like the sound of thunderstorms for sleeping. Crank up volume on this playing storms and you can feel and hear downstairs on opposite side of 1600 SF house with door closed for bedroom. Seriously ROCKS! A little muddy not the best treble sounding but if using Spotify you can use equalizer to improve. Uses Bluetooth only, no 3.5mm input. As a Smart speaker it’s excellent too. Hears me even when playing music at moderate volumes. If cranked it’s not going to hear you. I use it for Hue lights, Nest thermostat and getting the morning news, temps, forecast etc. Got this on sale for $24.99, wish I bought more as usually $149,99, now discontinued. Love Insignia product line.

This is the Best Buy equivalent to the Google Home. While it's missing some features (such as bass and treble controls), for the most part it's just like using a Google Home. The build quality is nice, and the sound quality at lower levels is good. It has better treble than the Home, but at higher volumes it distorts. It has a built-in battery that's supposed to provide 5 hours of unplugged use, but I haven't used that yet. But the most important thing is that it was on sale for $35! I don't see how Best Buy is making any money selling for that price, but I did not complain. For less than the cost of a Google Home Mini or an Amazon Echo Dot it's a no-brainer to buy this. At an equivalent cost to the Home or full Amazon Echo, I'd say buy the name brand.
