I purchased this for the music....both google and alexa are not all that smart when it comes to answering questions. I have on multiple occasions asked both the same question and get the hummmn Im not sure. Really...alexa seems mostly a shopping bot and Im not sure what googles is yet.

Had to exchange the first 2, they didn’t want to cooperate. But the 3rd is working great. Google Assistant can be a lot of fun. Good speaker for the price. Plus you can take it outside with you, due to the rechargeable battery

I bought this when it was on sale for $25, and it worked great for about two days. After that, the speaker randomly cuts in and out and kind of freaks out due to multiple people who have connected to the speaker being on the wifi in the same house. Within an hour of exercising in the basement, I had the speaker play my spotify, my brother's spotify which he wasn't on but connected to the Wifi in the house, and my mom's spotify, which wasn't even in the house but somehow was playing exactly what she had been listening to in the car when it played on my speaker. I just want the thing to only sync to whatever user turns it on and connects to the wifi, it shouldn't be connecting to several users when it turns on that aren't requesting to sync with it.

It works very well with my voice, use it as an alarm every day and use it for music to help me fall asleep at night. all I have to do is commanded it. I have two of them and have them paired on both sides of my bed. My daughter liked it so much I bought her one.

It works ok except when you go to play music it will skip at the beginning than restart from the beginning and play through out. It gets pretty loud for a medium size 12x14 size bedroom . So I will keep it around.

This has Google home built into it, so not only can you set your alarm, you can also ask it the weather. My only complaint is minimal instructions, like what to say if I want to wake up to music. I've tried multiple ways and I haven't had any luck. Otherwise I love it.

this is my second one. Have to research on how to make it do simple things. Even through it has my home address if I do not ask for my weather it will give me Whitmore Lake instead. My wife hates these things because she thinks they are listening to our conversations

I only got this because I was given a Gift Card from Best Buy and did not know what to spend it on. But was very pleasantly surprised of its voice recognition of various different people and its capabilities. Were so happy with it that we decided to buy another for a close relative.

The speaker is pretty loud, but distortion begins at high levels. I have this next to me on my nightstand but the time display is a little bright there's no way to dim the display. Average speaker overall.

for the price its a good device, it need to be reset a time or two, sound is not super high quality but it gets the job done. its a better sounding speaker at the price of a google home, and it does integrate as well into home as well as any google device.

Economical Way to use Google Home Voice Speaker

I purchased the Insignia Voice Smart Speaker because it was greatly discounted at my Best Buy and it was the most economical way to use the Google Home Voice Service. I am concerned about the poor radio streaming but the Google voice service works fine.

Not easy to setup, microphones couldn't hear me

I thought this would be a pretty good, higher quality Google Assistant speaker. I wanted something that would provide better quality than the standard Google Home but didn't want to shell out for the Google Home Max. I also liked that it had a display which would constantly show the time and outside temperature. I had to go through the setup process four times with the Google Home app as the speaker kept resetting itself. It finally connected to my wi-fi network but the "OK, Google" command wouldn't work. I had to reset the speaker and set it up again. Finally everything worked but the microphones just aren't that great. I had to be near the speaker for it to work whereas I can say "OK, Google" in a normal voice in my bedroom and my Google Home will hear me downstairs. The display would also stop showing the outside temperature and the clock would freeze. Waking the speaker up would cause it to refresh (after about 10 minutes) but what's the point of displaying the time if it's going to stop keep track of it? I had also hoped that the speaker could be taken outdoors and used for music playback. Battery life was advertised as being 4 hours (maybe 6, I can't remember), enough that I could take it in my backyard and get the usage I wanted out of it. The battery life was abysmal and the speaker never told me when it was getting low, it would just turn itself off after 90-120 minutes in the middle of playing music. The speaker quality also left a lot to be desired. I have a $50 Sony Bluetooth speaker and it sounds better than this, has longer battery life, is more portable, and is more rugged. It doesn't have a smart assistant built-in but still. This Insignia speaker isn't a very good product. The odd thing is I have the small version that doesn't have a battery and it's a good Google Home alternative. It can hear me just fine, sounds as good as the standard Google Home, was easy to setup, and about 1/3rd the cost of the Home. This speaker didn't live up to the smaller one. Maybe Insignia has fixed things since then but I returned mine. It's not that Insignia makes bad products either. I have a 47" Insignia LED TV that's now 9 years old and still working just fine. I also have an Insignia washer and dryer, space heater, counter top ice machine, Blu-ray player, and a few other products. They have all more than lived up to my expectations except for this speaker.

First off, I got this today on sale, I did the updates and I was able to make a call no problem, I was also able to broadcast to my other google home device. So far I am very satisfied with this product.

I needed room on my end table for all the gadgets that I had. I had Google Home & I also had a digital alarm clock. Combining these two items for Insignia - Voice made more room on my end table without removing any of the features that I needed. Perfect combo!

I got this on a daily deal and for that value I paid this is a great product. I am sad that his doesn't have a USB in it as I saw on other model. The next con is some times it does not connect with the internet and had to restart it manually.

Was looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker for the garage and ran across this for $45. It works really well and google home is a bonus. When not plugged in to an outlet it keeps resetting and needs to be set up again but it’s not a big deal.

Nice all around speaker with google home built in, would have given it more stars if it had an 3.5mm input jack as all devices do not have bluetooth. The sound is pretty good for it's size.

I was kind of hoping to get two to replace the old alarms in the bedroom. I guess you can only give this verbal commands for setting alarms. The problem is you would have to shut off the microphone of the other device to make sure it only sets on your unit. Then you need to remember to turn the one that isn't yours back on. They would be much easier to manage from within an app. Even if I had to create just an alarm calendar for each unit would make things simpler. If it can do something like that I haven't found it yet. If you are the only person in your room it should be fine, or if you both have the same schedule, but different schedules needs some work.

This product has completely blown my mind. I thought that I was a fan of siri and alexa; but the google features of this product have completely made me a believer of google voice. The speaker and its connectivity as well as the home features are amazing and intuitive.
