Solid product to start smart home with. A little tricky to set up (app could use some work), but ultimately works as it is supposed to. We use it for our lamp and use the Google Home to control it.

We use this outlet to control two lamps on either end of our bookshelves with Google Home. It connects directly with Google Home (does not need a hub) and has worked reliably for us for over 6 months.

We use this with our google home and it works great. We use it for a lamp in our living room but have also used it to easily control the Christmas tree.

This product was on sale for $15 and works great for that price. I had difficulty setting it up and realized my phone's cell data was causing the issue. Once I turned it off, the setup went smooth.

Can control very well with phone and the timer works well. Only concern, I couldn't turn on or off manually. I have to do it with the app. Looks like they recently pushed an update, but check from others.

plug it in and set it up was very easy. this unit controls my AC in my room and also i can turn it on before i get home from my phone to cool down my room

This product depends on continuous connectivity. When uninterrupted all seems fine. But for reasons like software updates on my phone, or power interruptions, I find that I have to logon to my account to restore communications periodically. I do not like having to remember account name and password to continue using the device.

These work just like they are supposed to. However, they are slower to respond to my Google Home than the other branded plugs I own. Not that big of a deal, especially given the price.

Got the Insignia app, followed instructions, and it syncs with Alexa. You can make just about anything smart with these wall plugs! Great price too.

I've read quite a few reviews on a lot of smart outlet products before I finally decided on the Insignia brand controller. I evaluated the content then went to the Google Play website and did the same with the app before deciding on Insignia. I'm glad I did because the controllers are working flawlessly, doing everything I ask and working perfectly with both Google Home and Alexa. Absolutely no problems here... I've purchased six, I'd buy them again if I needed more. Great job Insignia! Looking forward to seeing their security camera line released.

Use to use an old fashioned timer for my christmas tree. Not anymore! Love how I can control it from anywhere right on my smart phone.

Very easy to set up and able to pair with Alexa for voice commands. Able to control my lights when away from home through insignia app on my phone.

I have really enjoyed this smart plug! I have a lamp plugged into it. I love that I can ask Alexa to turn the light on or off. I had a tough time setting this up at first but that may have been my fault since this was the first smart plug I have ever used. You will need to install an app then connect to your Alexa or other device. Occasionally you have to reset the WiFi, usually as simple as pushing the reset button on the plug. Also at times there is a long delay in time when I say “Alexa, turn on the light” and the light turning on. But that could be the WiFi and not the plug. I have seen similar items for a lower price and wonder if they will work as well?

Works with my Google Home. Just need to set up the plug under the Insignia app and add it to Google Home app. Easy to setup and had no problems.

This is my first smart plug that I ever bought and I plan on buying more of this brand. Easy to set up and to use. I've been using it daily for several weeks and there was one time it got "wonky" on me (Alexa wouldn't turn off the lamp) but I blamed Amazon Web Services because Alexa had been acting a tad sluggish all day and I was able to bypass Alexa and shut off the lamp using the app for Insignia devices. The app also has the ability to set up schedules for turning things off and on--haven't used it yet but nice to know that I have that option.

easy to set up. works great with phone to operate my lights. timer is also easy to setup and turns lights on and off right on time. love it.

This very easy to setup. Was able to put outlet on a timer and turn off/on remotely with phone. Buying another one for the Christmas tree.

I wish it worked with IFTTT, but works fine with the app. If you don't need to add it to your voice commands, it works fine. We use it to restart hardware remotely through the internet.

Worth the money if you need a basic smart plug. The app is the only negative thing about the product- it can be slow and unresponsive.

I have it connected to amazon dot and we use it to turn off/on an AC for an elderly man who couldn't turn it on/off otherwise. It works great after a few glitches in the beginning.
