insignia plug

Major Android Issues - Avoid

Could manually turn on and off with smartphone (OS v8.0.0 and tablet v7.0) without a problem. Worked with Amazon Echo too. But schedules don't work at all which is the primary reason for buying. After contacting Insignia Customer Services, was told developers know that there are problems with the later versions of Android and are "working on it" ..... but no timeline. Was told two options: hold on to them and wait for a fix to happen (and how would one know that?) or return. Guess what I'll do? Return. Even if they get it fixed, one has to worry whether it will simply fail to execute schedules when the next OS is pushed out. Are you supposed to not update your Android devices? I have to avoid these altogether because now I have no confidence in Insignia Product Support. Best Buy should post this limitation on their product page. Spent couple hours of my time with various permutations of installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, factory resetting, etc. etc., etc. before contacting Insignia. Don't waste your time too!

Never connected to wifi
