Add this product to my network to control a specific light but cannot control via Amazon Echo

We have a different smart plug but had so many issues with it. Gave this one a shot because it was on sale and we have no complaints. The app is user friendly and it connected to our Google mini with no issues.

The downloadable Insignia app is easy to set up and use. The switch can be grouped in a room with other switches and smart electronics. Google home can be used to combine other apps and provide continuity.

I could not get my plug to connect. I contacted Insignia/Best Buy customer support and after a 20 minute wait, they simply went through the instructions that came in the box, with no additional information. I purchased a TP-Link Smart Plug instead, and it works great.

At first there was a glitch and scheduling was out-of-order. That's what customer service told me, and to check in a couple of days. Sure enough after 1-2 days it was all working fine! Good product overall.

Have a TP LInk plug that was easy to set up. This was difficult but once set it works ok.

I use this item everyday and I truly love it. It makes things easier so you don’t have to use your light switch all the time. The mobile app is the best allow me to turn off and on my light while sitting.

Good compact design. Set up can be challenging but sometimes customer service is good.

The product starts off connecting with minimal issues connecting and at some point it just stops working, disconnects or won't allow itself to be recognized. I have had 3 of these and ALL 3 have stopped working. I really wouldn't recommend these devices.

Not sure why but the Internet connection goes in and out frustrating to have to reset

This WiFi connected so-called smart plug has a poorly designed WiFi reconnect function. The plug often fails to reconnect after power failures ... and reconnecting the plug to WiFi is not a reliable function. I recommend buying competitive products.

I have 4 of these devices. They are a little difficult to setup on iOS. I’ve had several problems with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa controlling these devices. It does work. They are cheap, but I wish I’d spent the extra few dollars on the Wemo switch.

Easy to install, cheap as compared to other ( $40). Nice app interface. Works good. Downside: Cant integrate with Wink App.

The Switches are simply too messy to setup using the insignia connect app and the switches randomly become unreachable and have to be reconfigured. Few days ago, they just won't let you configure. Finally gave up and bought smart switches from another vendor.

Was not what I wanted. Associate did not understand my needs which was for Microsoft home.

Had to spend 3 hours in configuring the plug. Once it's configured it works great.

When I first set it up it seemed to work fine. However after any period of idle it would become unresponsive I was using it paired with Amazon Echo. When it was working, it was extremely slow to respond, sometimes taking 3 to 5 seconds before it would turn on or off.

It is a very nice product, and simple to use. I use it to control string lights that I have across my ceiling. I can command it using Alexa and overall it is a very cheap way to smarten up your home!
