Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the long cord length and the functionality as positive aspects of the Wired Controller for NES Classic Edition, finding it to be a good, affordable option that works well for multiplayer gaming and provides a familiar feel. However, some customers express concerns about the controller's perceived lower quality compared to the original and report experiencing occasional lag or response time issues. The overall experience appears to be a mixed bag, with strong opinions on both sides.

I went through two of these because the control pad kept breaking. The responsiveness is also quite sluggish. I would not recommend this controller at all.

This item has an issue with latency in the game. The response time causes you to mess up and lose. It is best you get the authentic controllers instead

If I could give less than one star I would. These are absolutely terrible. The d-pad is atrocious and you can’t go in a straight line and even more frustrating than that is the random freezes. I purchased two of these at half price and threw away the box before Intested them so now I’m stuck with these. Please do yourself a favor and do not purchase no matter how cheap!

I use this for my NES Classic Edition and it is amazing! It's a great deal. The cord is long and it feels just like the official controller. Glad I bought this controller.

Who Ever Designed This Doesn't Know How DPads Work

A+B feel somewhat good, but D-Pad is designed horribly. The way a D-Pad is supposed work is round point in the middle that pivots the D-Pad from one side to another, preventing the user from pressing the whole D-Pad at once. The way this one is designed, is a flat middle, giving no pivot, and the entire pad can be pressed at once, but only registers one side being pressed. And because a lot the games on the NES Classic require precise landing that involve rocking the D-Pad left and right rapidly, you can being pressing left, then swiftly go to right, and you'll unintentionally press down the whole D-Pad, resulting in a bad input, because the side the you intended to press isn't registered. The only good of this controller is the long cable, and the actual circuit board. If you buy this controller, buy an original NES controller wherever you can, (They're relatively cheap, sometimes cheaper than the extension cord) take both apart, and transplant the circuit board from the Insignia controller into the original NES controller case. That way, you get the 10ft cable, but you also get a usable D-Pad, and the original look. That's what i did, and that's the only way i can justify buying this controller. Otherwise, don't buy this. Buy the extention cords.

Controller works excellent. The cord length is perfect (10 Feet) so you don't have to play with your nose on the tv screen and you can actually sit back comfortably. Controller feels light but in a good way, it's well built. This item showed as unavailable for store pickup and only available through shipping. I was curious and decided to go to my home store anyway, and there it was on the shelf along with a few more. Someone else was actually getting one, so it might really not be available soon. I highly recommend, I have nothing negative to say about this controller.

I finally got my hands on a Nintendo Classic Mini but was quickly met with the problem of needing an additional controller to play many of the games. With actual Nintendo controllers equally as scarce this one was the perfect solution.; Its just as responsive as the Nintendo brand controller and comes with a longer cord! I highly recommend this controller for anyone looking to partake in the awesome nostalgia that is the Nintendo Classic Mini. It is a great controller at a great price!

I was really hoping to get an original controller but finally gave up and grabbed this. It works well and it close to the original. This controller has louder clicks and slightly raised buttons but gets the job done for a lot less than the original.

Same if not better than the original

Controller feels exactly like the original, minor difference, but could also be major. The cable comes standard 10ft, so no need for an extension. Also, the buttons are slightly higher, a better feel and feedback compared to the original controller. Don't know how Insignia got away with basically a carbon copy of the original, but get it while it lasts!

Not quite like the original. Its lighter and the buttons are a lot more louder and don't feel as smooth. The only good thing I can say about it is the cord length. I'd probably pay the extra cash from a scalper online.

These worked great for a couple weeks, then one controller stopped working intermittently. We would unplug and plug back in and seemed to fix it for a few minutes. Both controllers started doing it, so that is when I realized it must be the wires. A little research online showed others are having the same issue. I purchased a set on amazon that is made by Keten. They have longer wires and have worked flawlessly.
