As an avid daily walker, I rely on headphones to listen to music in order to keep me moving. As a first-time user of Insignia headphones, the performance of these headphones is really good! I will comment on aspects of these headphones that I found to be reliable as well as useful:
Bluetooth Pairing-These headphones paired well with my Android phone. The overall communications from these headphones is clear with much clarity. In the two nights of walking, I have not experienced anything that negates performance such as dropped signals.
Comfort-the comfort of these headphones is wonderful! The inner-ear pads are very cushiony, as such, I can keep them on for the duration of my walk without them sweating or pinching my ears. I perspire heavily when walking and exercising which result into headphones making my ears feel hot and fiery which results into my taking them off.
NC-The noise cancellation coverage on these headphones is top-notch! While amidst my walk, I activated the noise canceling feature as I took an evening walk due to change in my work schedule. As a result, the track was full of people, which can sometimes cause me to become unfocused. Therefore, I activated the noise-canceling feature from these headphones, and I did NOT hear anything! It truly was a good feeling to not hear conversations, stomping of feet by joggers, and the overall noise produced from the track environment.
Calling Feature-the calling feature on these headphones is pretty decent as I made a few calls after my workout. The callers indicated they did hear me well and I in turn heard them well. As there weren’t any distortion, choppy communications, or dropped calls.
Touchpads-I found the touch pads on these headphones to be easy to navigate as I have not experienced any delays or uneasiness during navigation.
Design-The design of these headphones consist of a hard-plastic coating, which is durable and will withstand accidental drops or scratches that come from not having a protective case. However, I would have liked to have seen a good protective case to accompany these headphones.
Overall, I think these headphones are of quality build and affordable pricing to consumers, who wish to own a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, at affordable pricing.

Noise-Cancelling Issues

I returned the product after having repeated issues with the noise-cancelling feature would automatically shut off after 10 minutes of use. I would then need to press the button to enable the feature only to have it shut down again. Pay the extra money and get the higher end models.

I purchased these as a test. When I tried them out, they sounded terrible. It might not be fair for me to judge, however, because my regular headphones are the top-of-the-line Bose. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

For whatever reason the headphone sound kept cutting in and out. The sound was sub par (already owned a cheap pair of headphones from amazon that worked better) ended up buying a Sony brand that worked out great

Best Affordable Bluetooth Noise Cancelling
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
TLDR: The best affordable Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Bluetooth headphones that you can buy that also support 3.5MM cords so you can use them in flight. Intuitive touch controls make them a pleasure to use.
Long Version
I work in an open plan office where there's always background noise from people talking on the phone or having conversations. So ANC headphones are something I have wanted for a long time. The Insignia Over Ear Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones are the best affordable noise cancelling headphones I have used. There are dedicated buttons for turning the ANC on/off, so if you need to hear an announcement or don't need ANC all the time you can easily switch it off.
The touch controls are easy and intuitive. I would call the more swipe touch, can be used to change the volume and skip tracks, answer calls. I call them swipe as yes, it's touch but you touch and swipe - which I actually like, because it stops you accidentally hitting the wrong spot or missing a combination. FYI the touch controls allow you to touch 2 fingers on the outer right ear cup to get a pass-through sound. I like the touch controls.
It's worth calling out the ear cups on the Insignia Noise Cancelling headphones are very comfortable, good padding and fully enclose my ears. This means you get excellent noise isolation plus the benenfits of noise cancellation.
Charging is via the included micro USB and there's also an included 3.5mm cable if you need to use them with in flight entertainment. No case, which at this price I can overlook. Insignia branding is subtle (see photo) and only on the headband.
Finally audio quality - is very good and I was impressed. They don't sound muffled or underwater like some noise cancelling headphones and the fact you can turn noise cancelling on/off as you need it with a dedicated headphones button (no need for any apps).
I would recommend and buy again. If you have ever wondered if noise cancelling headphones are worth the investment, try these and you won't be disappointed (although I did miss my subway stop because it was now so quiet, I was listening to music, enjoying the isolation and quiet... so maybe they work too well :-)

The Insignia™ - Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones - Black are an affordable set of Over-the-ear headphones with all the features of "named brands" but at a cost that makes sense.
I was surprised at the quality of sound these headphones produced. Sharp highs, tight mids, and deep bass. Clear and crisp sound through and through! These are comfortable to wear and the noise canceling is excellent.
PROS
- Affordable
- Feature rich, rivals name brands
- Comfortable
- Light weight
- Long battery life
- Easy set up and pairing
- Bluetooth compatability makes this useable for phone calls as well- odd for an over-the-ear headphone, but works great
CONS
- Plastic construction makes be wonder about the long-term wear and hold up of this product, but provides light-weight wear so give and take.
If you like over-the-ear headphones and want quality sound without shelling out the name brand price, this is the headphone for you!
