I'm a Beats/Bose user regularly - I have over ear, on, ear, and in-ear buds from both brands in my home used by myself and family members. I've always looked to both to provide either good quality (Bose) or consistently deep (Beats) sound output. I normally wouldn't consider an Insignia product as they've always seemed either really low-cost quality, or had a gaudy design due to their real OEM not being a leader in the field they play in... These Insignia Bluetooth headphones are the exception. Good audio quality, nice, compact design, and best of all (since they're from a store brand) - No branding! I get asked all of the time "Are those new Sony's? Are those JBLs?" - No. They're just great, easy to use headphones with solid build quality and sound output and pretty good battery life. A tremendous value! If Insignia products would step up to this level across the board, and would take the "Insignia" branding off, I'd be sold on many more of them.

I received the Insignia over the ear Noise Cancelling headphones as part of the Best Buy Tech Insider Network. They are very good for a $130 price point. They're very non- descript, just black with branding on the headband. Very comfortable to wear. I also use them when working out and they cause 0 issues. The music controls on the right cup are more swipe based which takes some getting used to. The controls on the left cup are for power/pairing, ANC and Monitor. The Noise Cancelling is good not great. You can tell the difference when ANC is on versus when it's off. It's more for ambient noises, like a loud A/C unit and the such. You can still hear people with music playing. Outside wind when walking or running does kinda ruin the experience because it sorta creates pressure imbalances. The Monitor function let's you obviously monitor your surroundings but it kinda sounds like you're in a vacuum when used. Overall I like them as they're a great starting price and are simple to use and look nice. I would recommend them to people looking for their first set of ANC headphones but have a tighter budget and can't afford the Bose and Sony where they start at least double the price.

These are a good sounding pair of wireless headphones. I love that they are affordable, comfortable and, come with the aux cable if you want to go wired. Definetly just as comfortable as my Sony XB’s. Normally there seems to be sacrifice but not with these. Possibly that the charger is micro usb vs Type C.

Insignia products are usually seen as the generic brand at Best Buy, but that’s not a bad thing. These Noise-Cancelling Headphones come with features that higher-end or more expensive headphones lack. Pros -Decent build quality -Touch controls are a neat feature -Sound quality is fairly decent -Included 3.5mm cable great for air travel -Bluetooth pairing is fast and easy Cons -The Noise-Cancelling is good, but not great -Bass is a bit much -Ear-cups are on the smaller side and ears start to fatigue after an hour of use -Do not fold down for compact storage If you are in the market for NC headphones and do not want to spend $300, these Insignia headphones will do a good job.

I wanted to like these wireless noise canceling headphones but can’t bring myself around to giving it thumbs up to them. The positives, it was fairly easy to pair up to Bluetooth devices; adequate level of noise reduction (if I had to guess, I would say it reduces about 85% of the lower frequency noises and droning – definitely can’t compare to my Bose QC15); don’t need batteries or headphones turned on to simply function as headphones; and also fairly comfortable even when wearing it for 4+ hours – my ears didn’t feel hot nor did I feel like I was underwater. On the negative side, you can’t wear these headphones to just cancel out noise as it needs to detect input signals or else it automatically shuts off after 5 minutes. I guess it is a good feature for ensuring that you don’t accidentally leave the headphones on and drain the battery. However, if you intend to, like I wanted, just to use it to block out office droning so that you can concentrate, then these won’t work for you. As for listening to music, although I am not an audiophile, I find that the sound reproduction was scratchy and taking away from the enjoyment of the music. I also detected a hissing sound when noise canceling is activated. So bottom line, a very average noise canceling headphones that may work for you if you are price conscious but really not the best noise canceling headphones out there although decent enough.

Pairing the headphones with a device enables the ANC to function without music if intent is to use for ANC only.

I have a Bose wired earphone, which I love and will continue to use on my walks and at the gym but this Insignia over-the-ear headphone has become my favorite headset to use at home. The sound quality is amazing and it goes head-to-head with my Bose earphone and the Bose speaker. It took me a while to get used to the volume control. It’s sensitive to an accidental touch and I was not used to controlling it by sliding up and down on the side of the ear pad at first. However, once I got a hang of it, it became easy to operate. I love the quick switch (with a button) between the noise-canceling mode to the surround mode, so I can hear my family without removing the headset (yes, call me lazy). I really love this headset!

    For Casual Listeners Only

Pros: - Foldable for easy storing - Good battery life for the price - Echo cancellation works - Comfortable for a couple of hours Cons: - Poor audio for phone calls - Inefficient noise canceling - No case to store during travels Setting up was just a matter of turning them on and pairing with my iPhone. It took less than 10 seconds. My first try was with phone calls and I was immediately disappointed. It sounded to me like the person at the far end was talking on an old analog pay phone on the street. To that person, it sounded like I was in a small bathroom. Neither was true. In terms of audio quality, it was one of my worst experiences with any recent Bluetooth headphones. Still, the audio was clear enough without interfering with understanding and the echo cancellation was much more efficient than another pair of more expensive headsets I own. Noise cancelling was another disappointment. I could not tell whether it was on or off except for the voice warning about the state it was on. It did not block any noise other than any over-the-ear headphones would have done with or without noise cancelling, which is just because they cover your ears. Turning the ANC button on made no difference. I could even hear my air conditioning system when the music was not loud enough. Another pair of headsets I have is better at blocking noise and it does not even have any noise canceling capability. The Insignia NS-AHBTOENC are not premium headphones but the sound quality for music is not terrible, especially if you are not an audiophile like me. As I mentioned above, I was disappointed with phone call audio quality but it did not sound too bad for casual music listening in a not too noisy environment. Battery life seems to be good. I have not gone through a full charge yet but it seems that it will get to the 20 hours as advertised. I will not comment on highs, midrange, lows or any other features of high-end headphones here because it would not be fair considering the audience for this type of headphones. These are for the occasional listeners that are not into extreme audio quality. For those, I would recommend the Insignia NS-AHBTOENC. For others, I would recommend going with a more expensive type, even if they do not have noise canceling features.

A Good Fit, but Muffled Sound

I think I have an average size male head...and these headphones fit me perfectly. The cans completely covered my ears and the padding is very comfortable. Bluetooth connectivity is simple and pretty standard, but what really makes these headphone stand out is its noise cancelling and controls. The noise cancelling worked really well. Some rather spiking sounds and talking obviously came through, but I didn't hear any of the general ambient noise around me. The controls are also a bit novel. Instead of only pressing discreet buttons, the right headphone is essentially a control pad that you swipe: up/down for volume, left/right for fwd/reverse, double-tap to play/pause. This ended up being more useful than I expected. So why the low rating? It really came down to the sound. Whatever the bells and whistles one has from headphones, at the end of the day, they have to sound good. Simply put, the audio was incredibly muffled. There was some OK bass, but the muffled sound was just too jarring. I struggled to hear certain nuances of the music I played and voices got lost. They worked better with tight, bassy tracks; but for rock, classical, and even talk radio, I just couldn't get acceptably balanced sound from them - and this included fiddling with the EQ on my phone. I also used the headphones plugged in directly to a source and the sound was no different...still very muffled.

The headphones have some nice features. Sound quality is pretty good, but it won’t blow you away. Pairing process is quick and battery life is good. It has a trackpad on the outside of the right ear cup that allows you to adjust the volume and skip ahead or back to the previous track. If you press and hold the track pad, it will activate the voice assistant. The Noice-Canceling works really good. I put them on while mowing my lawn. The sound of the mower was somewhat reduced when I put the headphones on, but as soon as I activated Noise-Canceling it reduced the sound of the mower quite a bit. Overall I’m please with these headphones.

I wasn't expecting much from these cans, but was presently surprised. While they won't replace my Sennheiser HD1 headphones, they've earned a place in my bag when I don't want to take the pricey headphones. The first thing I tried was watching a movie on my iPad (2018) and was impressed with the lip sync and overall sound quality for movie watching. Dialogue was clear, music sounded good, if a little warm and it was a good overall experience. Music sounds a little flat at the high end. You can EQ it a little, but then it becomes sibilant. I think these headphones are perfect for movie viewing and listening to podcasts. Modern music sounds a little better than classic stuff as it tends to be mastered for cheaper headphones. Active Noise Cancellation is good, but not too aggressive. These would be best suited to an office situation to drown out distractions but still allow you to hear someone if they stop by the desk. One interesting addition is a "monitor" button. Press it and it mutes the music and uses the ANC mics to hear whats going on around you. Great for hearing announcements on a plane without taking them off! The right earcup has touch controls for volume and to skip tracks. Frankly, I couldn't get the hang of them, but I usually use the transport controls on my device anyway. They can also be used wired using an included cable. It's nice that it takes a normal aux cable rather than a proprietary cable. When music isn't playing there is a little hiss and some fluttering in the left channel for me, but you will not notice it when listening to anything. They're also nice looking and don't have garish branding anywhere on them. The fold up nicely, but do not include a case. Overall I found these impressive for the price and will be using them in situations where I don't want to risk my higher-end headphones.

    Superior product compared to TCL.

I bought a pair of TCL noise suppression headphones and needed to return them as after working for a while I couldn't get them to connect via Bluetooth. The store was out of the type I had so they substituted this model for the same price. This turned out to be fortunate. The most striking difference was the effectiveness of the noise suppression. It was aprox. three times as effective as the TCL. Some sounds still gets through but ambient noise is reduced significantly. They are also much more comfortable than the TCLs and the sound quality is great considering the price.

The Insignia Headphones are pretty good. The noise canceling works very well. I loved them on my flight this past weekend. The controls on the side can be rather flaky but they do work. The battery lasted for the entire trip with just one charge. I wish they would have included a carry case. But that's not a deal breaker. If you looking for good sound and noise canceling these will definitely fit the bill.

Pros: Lightweight Comfortable Noise canceling Adjustable band Battery life Touch controls Cons: Sound quality Cheap materials These are a decent set of headphones. Everything you need comes in the box. I love the battery life especially when using noise canceling. The touch pad controls are a huge bonus as I wear these while I work 8+ hours at a time and don't have to use my phone as often. The touch pad is super responsive and I had zero issues with using any of the commands. My biggest concerns are the cheap feeling materials and the sound quality. These are lightweight which can be good however they are all plastic and I'm not sure how they will hold up to repeated use. The sound quality is lacking compared to other brands I've use with similar style over the ear headsets. The bass is lacking and even just listening to podcasts I feel the sound quality is less than I'm used to with my other headsets.
