I’ll start by saying that I love headphones. I use them while at work, the gym, at home, you name it. The first thing I look for in a pair of headphones is sound quality, secondly comfort. After those two important factors, the rest is gravy as far as I am concerned. I am happy to report that the Insignia BT Headphones deliver. I own several different types of headphones ranging from wired professional studio monitors, to wireless earbuds. While the Insignia version is not a “professional studio monitor,” it is not meant to be. These are a reasonably priced excellent set for the masses (Depeche Mode pun not intended.) By this I mean that they are priced for everyone and anyone and that you can have premium features at a reasonable price. On this note, I do believe that this is what Insignia is all about. As a professional photographer, I also own some Insignia photography accessories and they are also all wonderful products. Back to the headphones. You won’t find any gaudy branding on these. Just a simple, no frills, jet black, unassuming set of cans. While they are simple in look and design, they still boast the features of far more expensive brands, again at a fraction of the price. You’ll still get full swipe feature control on the left headphone… double tap to pause/resume music, swipe to skip tracks, etc. The right headphone includes a button for power which is in the middle of three buttons so it is easy to get used to once you use them a few times. Also included on the side are a button for the active noise cancelling and a monitor button. The sound quality is on par with other more expensive headphones that I own in the same category. While they are not flat response, they have a pleasing, full and rich sound, with just the right amount of bass. The first track I dial up when testing speakers and headphones is called “Planting Seeds” by a great band called Dredg. If my new speakers or headphones handle this track when cranked up while sounding good at the same time, they end up getting lots of use and are keepers. That said, I am not a hip hop listener, so I cannot comment on these being used for bass pounding tracks. Again, the sound is very good for me. As a musician of over 40 years, I am hard to please in this category. Phone calls are clear and precise. Just what you’d expect. Comfort is outstanding. These are far lighter than some of my other over ear BT headphones, making fatigue a non issue. There is a 3.5 mm audio cable included, but honestly, I haven’t had the need to use it. They fold up very nicely and can be stowed in a soft or hard case easily. Many cases are available and I do recommend grabbing one for extra protection if you toss these into a backpack, luggage, etc. I found a great zippered hard case that works perfectly. If I had a con, it’s that a case or bag is not included, but at this price, it’s not really con is it! In summary, I cannot find anything that is a negative with this set of headphones. It has premium features, pairs with all computers and devices (iOS & Android) seamlessly, has great battery life, they sound great, they are lightweight, and most importantly affordable. Another great offering from Insignia!

I prefer the sound of cheaper insignia headphones

Average at best. Earpads make sounds & get real sweaty. Sound just isn’t loud enough. I bought these bcuz my cheap pair of insignia wireless BT headphones (that I loved so much- model CAB**** $27) broke in the same place that everyone else’s same headphones broke at- the cheap plastic piece above earphones. I would have thought that a more expensive pair of headphones made by the same company would sound even better... but no. I think this pair has better low bass. But My old broken cheap pair of insignia headphones sounds better to my ears plus it’s louder. The noise cancelling insignia pair doesn’t get as loud bcuz it’s trying so hard to cancel out outside sounds maybe? I don’t know, but I wish the noise cancelling pair would be as loud as the cheaper pair... crazy. This noise canceling pair also makes weird noises when I move my head on a pillow putting pressure on the outside of the earphone. When I do this, the earphone pads inflate and deflate with air & I can hear this when I move... it’s annoying + the earpads get very sweaty in my very limited use of them. & these all are things the cheaper pair did not do. Id prefer to just use the cheaper pair as the battery life wasn’t that big of a deal breaker. Just got to be extra careful not to bend & break the cheap plastics like so many have done.

ANC issue – read this before your flight

I bought these to listen to movies from the airplane (intercontinental). Connected with cable, the ANC was ON only 5min and I had to restart them every time. Called Insignia, agent said, this is normal; sent an email, other agent said, it is not normal, replace them. Replaced them, but the same issue and was advised to keep replacing them. Bad design? I found the solution, but it shouldn’t be that way. I paired the headphones to the phone. Now the ANC is always ON – I used a cable to listen to music from the PC, and ANC is always ON.

    Unbalanced.....

It seems like the many features on these headphones as the priority and overall sound-quality was secondary. Too much of what I don't need, not enough of what I do need. I personally can do without having to find the "sweet-spot" to rub my fingers up and down to change volume. I would have preferred a tactile volume-control or slider-knob. The sound on these headphones is muffled. The bass is terrific, but that seems like that is ALL that I hear regardless if it adjust the volume on the phones, or adjust the sound on the device it is paired with. I even removed all bass entirely. Still muffled. It seems like the noise-cancelling feature in feeding back on itself. This aren't the most-expensive headphones out there, but they aren't cheap either. With the warranty this was $70+ dollars. I expect more for the price I paid. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, these are going back.

Left-Right Audio Balance shifts over time.

These headphones are very "Middle of the road". They have pretty average sound, pretty average noise cancelling, and the bluetooth delay is pretty okay. I use these on my PC and my Nintendo Switch (With a bluetooth adapter), and with both, the left channel is significantly loduer than the right. On Windows I can change this through Sound Settings -> Sound Control Panel -> right click "Headphones" -> Properties -> Levels. This would be fine, but the issue is that it changes. Sometimes it is around 10% more on the left, sometimes it goes up to 30-40%. Other times it is entirely fine. I do not reccomend this, look elsewhere. I'm glad I got the warranty so I could exchange these for something much higher quality.

    Just ok

These working great for the first couple of months. Now one of the headphones makes a beeping noise while using them. It’s the same noise you hear when the volume is turned all the way up. And no matter where the volume is at, the beeping continues.

    Noise Cancellation Barely Noticeable

The sound quality is decent but the noise cancellation makes no difference. I can still hear everything around me. And I verified that the ANC was on and the Monitor was off. They are being returned.

Bought these headphones and when they didn’t turn on at first i thought i just needed to charge them first. The light will flash for a millisecond when i plug them in and then go away. i tried leaving them charging for a couple hours and nothing. Won’t charge. won’t turn on. won’t work at all.

    Over ears?

The headphones are supposed to be over the ear. They sit on my ears, not over them. Very uncomfortable. I am returning them.
