Does not work with newer Nikons

I bought this hoping to use it with my D3500. It is not compatible. It's not compatible with the D5600 either. This is an IR remote and Nikon removed the IR sensor from the D3500. So before you buy it, make sure your camera has an IR sensor. For remote shutter, they want you to use the SnapBridge app. Which works OK.

I picked up the Insignia remote shutter release at my local Best Buy store and I used it immediately with great results. My store has a resident Nikon specialist and he was great with helping me choose the best option, and also was very helpful in giving me a quick overview of the product (Thanks Justin at the Breantwood store). This unit is very simple and effective and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a remote shutter release.

I bought this remote last minute because I ended up traveling to Canada for business and wanted to capture photos of the borealis. I looked all over Amazon but it was hard to find specifics. I walked into BestBuy and was immediately helped and shown this device. It worked exactly as described and, for something right at the $20 price point, you can't do any better. Good range and angles means you can get pictures from pretty far out or even close up. No issues whatsoever.

This is the second remote I purchased for my Canon DSLR. The first one (a different brand and model) was so difficult to set up and use, only to find out it didn't work at all. I was able to use this one right out of the box, and it was half the price. Range is about 8 feet, so can't get too far away, but love the product.

Handy to have. In my experience, it responds best (up to 10') if you have a clear and direct line to the front of the camera. If you're to the side or behind the camera, you'll need to be within a couple of feet for it to activate the shutter.

I love this little remote. It is easy to carry around and small enough to hide in my hand when I'm in a picture. My only problem with it is if I'm standing on the side of my camera that doesn't have the sensor, it doesn't connect. I have to reach around or walk a few steps to make it connect and run back to where I want to be standing.

I have a Nikon D3300 and I like using my tripod a lot to take photos and sometimes if I have to be away from the camera I hate having to rely on the self timer of the camera. So when I finally picked up this remote, I was super happy at how easy and useful it is. It took me a few seconds to connect the remote to my camera and we were in business. Works great, definitely recommend.

Picked this up for $20 and it does what I need it to do. The sensor needs to be pointed pretty much directly at the sensor on the camera in order for it to release the shutter, but as long as you're not posing your remote hand in any weird way you should be fine!
