Save The Trouble, Buy A New Battery

5 Stars for the product being what it is, 1 star for the piece of junk battery that comes with it. Get home and try it out on my D3400: no dice. I think "well this is stupid" and try to troubleshoot the camera. Nothing wrong there. Do some sleuthing online and come to find that people complain about the battery in both the Insignia remote and the Nikon remote. Some people say to get a new battery (CR2025) because the "new" battery is DOA, some say to wedge paper in between the positive terminal side and the bottom of the remote due to the loose-fitting holder not making full contact. No thanks, I went BACK to the store and got a CR2032 battery (same voltage as the CR2025, just slightly thicker) and popped it in the remote ... now it finally works. Would I recommend to a friend? I'd recommend them to go ahead and buy a new battery while they were already at the store to avoid having to go back out. Alternatively, I'd recommend to Insignia to not include the battery at all and sell for under $15 so I can still get a functional remote for under $20 with a good battery.

My delayed shutter doesn't autofocus, so that's why I wanted to get a wireless remote. I was going to buy the Nikon model but procrastinated because I wasn't sure how much I would use it and didn't want to pay that much. But when I saw the Insignia model (with a strap as well), I was sold. Works great! At first I didn't think it was autofocusing, but after playing around with it for awhile, it was working fine. I use it with my Nikon D3300.

I bought this item today and used it. HOWEVER, it did not work on my Nikon D3300 camera. If there is anyone out there who can troubleshoot this problem, I would be appreciative. Oh, the young sales representative told me that it will work on my camera. NOT!

Does not work with Nikon D3300

I read reviews before buying this remote and it sounded like it worked with most Nikon models, but it does not work with the D3300. Unfortunately, I didn't find that out until after purchasing. The insert has a QR code for the compatibility list, but when you scan it, it takes you to Best Buy laptop help. I'm returning it for the ML-L3, which is the only one that is compatible with the D3300.
