Seamless Magsafe Car Mount
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is iOttie’s Velox Qi2 dash mounted mag safe phone mount (whew) and while that may be a mouthful, in short, it is a really good mag safe mount that charges your phone wirelessly. It comes with an option to use a sticker, however, where I was mounting the phone I was able to use the suction cup. I have had this product for over a week or so now in my 2012 mini, and if you know anything about mini’s, the mag safes strength was for sure tested well as the car is on the rough side of suspension. While I was initially skeptical about the ability for the mount to both stay in place on my car and hold my phone, I was thoroughly surprised at its ability and build quality. The best part of the whole thing is when you buy this at Best Buy… you never have to worry about getting the wrong mount, they have this model and several other variations as well to fit all needs and setups. It took me a while to find a mount that actually worked well and was of quality, but it is all subjective! Which is what makes Best Buy awesome as they have an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out!?

Good wireless charging car mount.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iOttie Velox Qi2 wireless car mount is a good option for Apple iPhones, but Max models beware… The charger has some nice features that I really like, such as you have the option to mount the charger to either your windshield, or you can use the included disk that can mount to your dash. The charger also comes with a USB-C car adapter, in case you don’t have a USB-C plug in your car. The charger has a soft rubber coating around the magnetic connector, this helps to prevent scratches on your phone. I’m happy that they added this feature, as others I’ve used in the past will leave scratch marks on my phone. The arm on the charger has plenty of range and can lay at a 90-degree angle and has a 180-degree range. The charger is fully compatible with Apple’s Magsafe charging, which means as soon as I connect my phone to the charger, a green charging ring lights up to display how much battery I have left and the charging status. The one problem I did have with the charger is if you’re using a iPhone 12 Pro Max, the magnet doesn’t hold it very well, especially if driving on a bumpy road. This can be easily fixed by attaching a small metal ring to your phone case, but sadly they didn’t include any in the box. Luckily, I had a few extra laying around, as soon as I attached it to my phone case, it worked great. Overall, I think the iOttie Velox is a great wireless car mount for regular sized phones, I do recommend a metal ring for Max sized iPhones. The build quality is good, the adjustable range is great, and the option to mount on your windshield or dash is a plus. I would definitely recommend this charger.

Strong and strudy mount
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's really hard to find a good quality phone mount nowadays, especially one with a built-in charging mount. There's always the issue of the mount sagging or the magnet being too weak. Prior to my iOttie Qi2 mount, I had another reputable mount that I purchased online. It was a pain because it would sag on just about every bump on the road. Although that one didn't have a built-in charger, I knew that I had to have it on my next car mount. So, I went with the iOttie Velox Qi2 and to my surprise, this thing is solid. I installed the mount on my car and have gone through plenty of bumpy roads (Bay Area) and have not had a sagging issue. I have an Otter Box case on my phone and some cheap metal plates I got online. The old mount would not keep a strong hold on my phone, but the iOttie Qi2 magnet is strong. It holds my iPhone 13 Pro Max steady without any issues. The charger even works with the case on my phone, which was surprising to me because I have to take my phone out of the case for my home charger to work. I would definitely recommend the iOttie Velox Qi2.

Sturdy and Wireless Charging
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice vehicle accessory to hold your phone while driving. The powerful suction cup will allow placement in a number of places. I have tried the window as well as the dashboard and so far no problems. I like that it takes advantage of qi products and it charges without attaching cords. It’s very sturdy and holds the phone in place while driving. I like the flexibility to use in portrait or landscape. It was pretty tough to adjust it. I felt like I was about to break it when trying to adjust but I guess it’s like that to keep the phone in place. The one thing I do not like is that the charging cable is permanently connected to the charger. It would be nice if that cord could be disconnected to avoid wear and tear or someone mistakenly ripping it off. That would have given a bit more flexibility but not a deal breaker. You won’t be disappointed with this. If you can’t use it because of how your dash is made you should be able to use it on a window. I would recommend the purchase of this product.

Good charger, mount could use work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used various mounts like this in the past but this one just had a few extra issues that makes me not super keen on it. I think I'll keep it for a while where I ended up installing it but I'm not sure I'd recommend it over some other options. I've used chargers with the same sticky suction cup before and was able to get it to stick to my dashboard without an issue. It's been in place for a really long time now. The first place I tried to install this one was my dashboard and it did not work at all. It comes with another plate you can stick to your dashboard that offers a flatter surface to install on but I didn't want to add the extra plate. I opted for using the windshield instead. After getting the cup a little dirty in my first few attempts at getting it to stick, I washed it off with warm water and gave it a go on the windshield. I actually found a nicer spot for the phone to the left side of the steering wheel anyways so not a huge deal that I couldn't get it to stick to the dashboard. The windshield stuck well and held the phone nicely. The next issue I ran into was the arm stiffness. The arm has a locking screw but it doesn't seem to matter at all. The arm is crazy stiff. It has a lot of tiny teeth that it grabs onto and I think the screw is supposed to loosen it just enough to let the arm move between the teeth and then you can tighten it to lock it into place but it's just always too tight. You need to force it exactly where you want it even when the locking screw is completely out. I suggest getting it into the position you want before mounting it because moving it will be difficult while mounted and will probably loosen the mounting job you did as well. The last downside is the lack of detachable cable. This isn't the only one of these chargers I've used without a detachable charger but those other chargers don't get a pass for it either. Being able to replace the cable if it wears out or being able to use a different, shorter (or longer) cable for your needs feels like something every charging device should have right now. For positives, the Mag-Safe hold is good. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Mag-Safe leather case and it finds and sticks to the charger without an issue. The magnet is strong enough I'm not worried about it falling at all (given my initial problems with the suction cup, I'm much more weary of the whole mount falling down than I am of my phone falling off the magnet). The charger is also nice. I usually don't have a great need for "fast" charging when on the mount, but it's nice to have. After a bit of time in the car, I'm left with a mostly topped off iPhone. Final thoughts. Is this the worst charger mount in the world? Definitely not. Is it good enough? Probably. Is it great? I don't think so. The charging part is pretty good, but could use a detachable USB-C cable. The mount sticks well to windshields but your mileage may vary on your dashboard. You might have to use the included dashboard plate which I find inconvenient. The adjustable arm is barely adjustable but once it's in place, you probably don't have to worry about it slipping and since the magnet head swivels around, you shouldn't really need to do much adjusting once you get it in place. It's not my favorite. But it's functional and it's not the worst.

Does not work with Apple CarPlay :(
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this cell phone mount and charger, but right away I was extremily disappointed to learn that this thing is not compatible with Apple Carplay. It’s 2024 and this thing does not work with Apple CarPlay? This means that if you want to use this mount and listen to music or use Maps, you would have to connect a cable through the USB-C port and then connect that to your vehicle for Apple CarPlay? Now you are in your car with two cables going to your phone. Unfortunately, this immediately a no-go for me. If you can live without this, then perhaps this could work for you. The design is good, quality plastic, great suction cup, strong cable…but the magnet did not stick well to my iPhone 15 Pro which comes with MagSafe. Surprisingly, the magnet did a better job of connecting to my phone case which has a built in MagSafe. I would say don’t even consider using this without a MagSafe case because I promise you the phone will drop as soon as you hit a medium bump. Overall, I don’t recommend this to anyone who loves the connectivity with your phone and Apple CarPlay. This charger and mount won’t work for that. It’s a shame because I think I could of used it every day.

a high-speed charger
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently picked up the iOttie Velox Qi2 Wireless Dashboard & Windshield Car Mount in Carbon Black, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box, the quality is evident—the carbon black finish looks sleek and complements my car's interior perfectly. Installation was a breeze with the reusable suction cup base, which sticks firmly to both the dashboard and windshield. I especially appreciate the included dashboard pad, which provides an extra layer of protection for my dash. The mount's telescopic arm extends from 4” to 6.75” and pivots effortlessly, allowing me to position my phone exactly where I need it. Whether I’m navigating or taking calls hands-free, the flexibility of this mount makes it incredibly convenient. The Qi2-certified wireless charging is a game-changer. It charges my iPhone 14 at impressive speeds—up to 15W—so I never have to worry about running out of battery on long drives. The built-in N52 magnets are powerful, holding my phone securely in place, even on bumpy roads. The soft, anti-slip silicone coating ensures that my phone remains scratch-free and in perfect alignment for charging. Overall, the iOttie Velox Qi2 mount is a must-have for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish car phone mount that doubles as a high-speed charger. It's a fantastic blend of form and function, and I highly recommend it. Five stars, hands down!

Not bad but certainly not great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve used several of these types of chargers and some have been good, some have been bad and some have just been average. This fits into the average category Build quality wise it’s ok, doesn’t feel flimsy at all. The suction cup holds well once you find somewhere on your dash it will adhere too. The 12v cigarette charger is kind of odd but will work. Charging is a mixed bag when it comes to various devices. My iPhone 15 Pro Max charges just fine and pretty quick for one of these. My S24 Ultra is so slow it barely charges when using maps or listening to music, so it’s not great away from the iPhone which is a shame. The other issue I have is the MagSafe part, the magnet. I always use the larger devices, I prefer the big screen options and with the larger devices comes more weight obviously. This is where I have issues with this mount. The magnet is fairly strong but not strong enough. If I go over a bump I find both of my devices will fall off the charger, it’s extremely annoying when this happens as you’re trying to grab your phone while driving which isn’t safe and many times I’ve had to pull over to grab the device. Now the smaller device I don’t see to have that issue at all, so beware if your a large device user this may not be for you

Great if you don’t care about charging speed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the previous version of this car mount and I stopped using it for the same reason I am going to stop using this one; the charging speed is atrocious. I am currently driving and writing this review with Siri and watching as my battery life drops. They advertise this as a 15 W charger, but I’d like to know where they got that number from. The mount works perfectly fine on the windshield of my jeep Wrangler. It puts my phone in perfect viewing position. It is a Jeep, so I do go over some bumpy roads and it does a nice job of keeping the phone on the mount. I like that I can rotate it and put it at any angle I want and adjust how far my phone is from me. If this thing could actually charge my phone, it would be one of my favorite devices, I hate having to plug my phone in every time I get in the car I have this paired with wireless CarPlay so it is a really nice hands-free option, however I drive a lot and I need my phone charged when I reach my destination. If you’re looking for a great mount and the speed at which your phone charges is not important to you, then this is a great amount for you. This will be the last time I tried this brand.

Really Wanted this to Work
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted this to work - in theory, it should've been great for my wife's 2016 Honda Odyssey that doesn't have CarPlay. This was supposed to allow her to use Apple Maps directions while she was on the road. But sadly. this just didn't work out for her. First off, she decided she didn't want anything hanging from her windshield and I don't blame her. We live in Texas where the median temperature in the summer is a brisk 101, so anything that's "stuck" to the windshield has a high probability of falling off. So we decided to try and mount it on the only piece of accessible dash trim we could find, between the steering wheel and A/C vent to the right of the steering wheel. The next disappointment was in the "telescoping" arm. It only added like 2 or less inches, which didn't make it all that accessible for my wife to easily swap between music and maps. The degree of the arm is also managed by a screw bolt at the back that had an unusually high amount of torque, so it took an effort to loosen it up to even get her phone to a place where she would've wanted it to be. Next, was the magnet. I'm not sure what happened, but the hold on this thing wasn't near as strong as something I'd expect to hold a phone into place. She has an iPhone 12 Pro, with a MagSafe case. Her phone solidly clicks onto her nightstand charger, or my MagSafe mount in my car. We hit a pot hole and her phone popped off the holder. After checking it when we got home, I found that her phone popped off with a minimal amount of effort. I also was not a fan of the cable. The cable was permanently attached to the charging puck, while the other end was a USB-C. Since most cars that I would guess would be the target market for this kind of after market addition are armed with USB-A only ports, if that, iOttie was thoughtful enough to include a USB-C adapter for the cigarette lighter 12v port. That meant in our case, connecting the phone to the van could only be done over Bluetooth and not USB-A, which isn't a deal breaker, but it made it cumbersome when we were both in the car on a long trip and had to keep swapping cables and cords. Like I said, I wish this would've worked, and I wish I would've liked it - the idea was solid, but the execution just created too many compromises and sub-par user experiences in our case.

Falling Apart
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd iOttie charger. The first stopped charging after 13 months (past warranty) so I upgraded to the Velox Qi2. The magsafe cover on the charger has started coming off. While driving the phone and magsafe cover fall frequently. Would not recommend this product or this companies customer service.

Does Not Hold
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to really like this Wireless Charger Mount since my previous one of three years could no longer serve its purpose. What made this Dash & Windshield mount so bad? The base adhesive is incredibly weak. I followed the instructions to the letter. I place the mounting base on a flat, clean area of my dash. I pressed evenly onto the location where I wanted the dash mount to be placed. Then, I waited easily 30 minutes before placing the dash mount onto the base. It was about 12 hours later when I was at a red light and the dash mount fell forward with my phone magnetically attached. I attempted to put the mount base back into place and waited a couple of hours before attaching my phone to the cradle. Within hours, the base gave way and my phone fell to the floor. I know I can go to the store and purchase a well-known peel-and-stick adhesive to make this dash mount usable, but there shouldn’t be a need to take those extra steps when this dash mount is supposed to be functional right out of the box. For those few hours that the base held, this phone dash mount was great.
