Personally i think its because I purchased "open box." But overall it does what it is supposed to do!

Have two labs and doesn't have any problems picking up hair. Even when having company over. Insont worry about it doing a good job.

An OK robot vacuum.

It doesn't live up to the other Roomba's I've had. We have a husky and it has to make a couple of passes over to pick up his hair. Unlike our previous vac that had no problem. Another big issue I have with it is that it will completely ignore certain rooms and just vacuum the same few areas multiple times in some sessions.

I had to empty (we live in the country and have a cat and a dog) it before trying to have it redock itself so I still don't know about that feature but it worked really well for me. I ran around and picked up things off the floor and monitored it on it's maiden voyage. We all have long hair so I had to clear the roller brush of all that hair too.
