So disappointed! We live in a pretty large house with 1 dog and 3 cats. We have multiple area rugs. We read many reviews and thought Roomba would be our answer. First, the good aspects: Our Roomba 880 really does have excellent suction power. Surprisingly so for a unit this small. Also, the battery life is great. Given the power of the suction and spinning rollers, I'm pretty impressed by how long Roomba goes for before it needs a recharge. We have it set to automatically head out and start cleaning every afternoon at 1pm. It works for about 2-3 hrs before heading back to the docking station to recharge. Now the bad: 1) Roomba was supposed to make our life easier by doing our vacuuming. But in truth, we spend more time servicing and rescuing Roomba than any benefit we get from its cleaning. Roomba is constantly getting stuck/trapped under couches, furniture, etc. Every time Roomba heads out, it gets stuck somewhere at least once or twice. We have never come home and not found roomba wedged somewhere. Really annoying. 2) The dust compartment is WAY too small. The light on top telling us that the bin has to be emptied is constantly on because it fils up fast and needs to be emptied, a LOT. So we have stop Roomba, flip it over, empty out the bin, put it back in, and the hit the button to restart the robot. 3) The rollers clog up a lot. Sometimes when the indicator light goes on saying that Roomba's bin needs to be emptied, we flip it over, and the bin is actually empty because the rollers are all jammed up with dust bunnies, fur, etc. So you need to open up the "roller cage", pop out the rollers, clean out all the packed in dirt/dust, put them back in, and then restart roomba. 4) Roomba gets clogged up with small things left about the house. If you have socks on the floor, little cat toys, strings, kids who leave their toys etc around the house, all these things get pulled into the rollers and then have to be extricated from the rollers or Roomba shuts down. What this means is that before roomba heads out to clean, you basically need to walk around the house and pick up all the things that might get stuck in Roomba's rollers. You are essentially cleaning up before your robot heads out to clean. Whats the point of having to do that? So in the end, very disappointed with roomba. For a device this expensive, we should not have all of these problems. If we could still return it, I definitely would. Not worth the VERY expensive price. As I said up above, I spend more time having to clean up ahead of roomba and service roomba...every day.

I just received my 880 a couple of days ago. I researched the Roomba models extensively and decided to wait until the 880 became available. I'm so glad I did! I use it to clean all my hardwood floors and it works beautifully. It cleans along the baseboards better than a regular vacuum cleaner. The virtual wall/light houses work great. Overall, I am so glad I waited to get the 880 - no bristle brushes to get hair tangled up in. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Highly recommend.

I have it set to run every day. Works great! Its amazing how clean it keeps the place.

I know saying a life changer sounds crazy, but this device truly has been remarkable. I have a 1 year old child who likes making a mess. By the time the baby gets fed, bathed and put to bed its too late to vacuum without waking up the baby. So I decided to give the Roomba a chance. The set up is super easy, so I scheduled the Roomba to go every afternoon while I'm at work. The first day I came home from work was so great because the house looked clean. No food crumbs under the table and the carpet looked really nice. The most surprising aspect was how much dirt was picked up. I thought this device would be pretty weak due to its size, but it picks up a lot of dirt and does a great job of cleaning. Anyone who has kids or pets should really look at getting this Roomba.

My wife love this vacuum by far a great buy. Great if you own a dog that sheds a lot.

The technology works, the robotic vacuum is convenient to use, very very effective vacuuming, and navigates in amazing ways.

I had high hopes for the 880, It gets stuck under dressers, rocker recliners, and my bed every time it runs. The light towers do not direct it to clean the 2 rooms as it should. It just doesn't see the towers. It will not return home to charge itself either. does not like extension cords or cords of any kind. Get everything off your floor before you turn it on. I must admit though that it does clean well. I was surprised how much dust and dirt it picked up. I have tile and wood in my house. I will be returning this 880 and will have to upgrade to a 960. If I have problems with the new one I will go without.

I love my Roomba. You would be amazed by the amount of dirt and dog hair this thing gets up that you our you maid leave behind!!!

I am using if for now almost around a year, no complaints so far. It doesn't mean that it is a perfect product, but this keeps my house clean for entire week till I comeback and do it myself.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it. I love it because he does the work.

So I bought this for around $700 and my neighbor bought the iLife A4 for around $180. We both compared them and the job they did. After a few days I realized that his did just as good as job as mine did. I returned the $700 one and bought the other one. Very glad I did. The A4 does just as good of a job as this one does, if not better. I'm not sure why this one is so expensive but there are plenty of other options out there that are far less in price and just as good in quality.

I have back problems and cannot clean like I used to. I also have a dog, which makes a requirement to clean the floor regularly. With this vacuum i can maintain the floors clean. This is not a very powerful vacuum and the furniture has to be about 4 inches high for the vacuum to clean under it. Not good for carpets and rugs.

We have both the Roomba 880 and the 770. The 770 works amazing but cleaning dog hair out of the brush was getting to be a pain so we wanted to get an upgrade, so we got the 880. We use the 770 upstairs and the 880 downstairs. Let me say we regret getting the 880. It never charges, it constantly comes off it's charger and will say it has random charging errors. Randomly during the day it just starts beeping error and dies. When we clean it out it will still say it is full of trash, even when we've replaced all the components with brand new ones it STILL says it has trash in it. It will spend an hour trying to set it's self onto the charger before we finally just turn it off and place it on the charger our selves. And the issues just keep going on. We never had a single issue with our 770, it was just a pain cleaning the hair out from the brush, but I can honestly say we would prefer to do that than deal with this horrible 880 that is constantly failing.

Im wheelchair bound and struggle with the weight of upright vacuums. This is great because i just push a button and it does its thing. If i had to say one bad thing it is very pricey.

the best part of this unit is with that with brushes, it pulls up carpet out of your rug. with this roller bumpers, you never ever get carpet just lint and dust, it's better for you carpeting.

My I love my Roomba knows as Zoila, I bought it as recommendation from a friend and I do not regret a penny that I paid for her.

Doesn't pick up hair from rug. Has trouble moving from wood floor onto rug. Going back to my upright vacuum cleaner.

My first roomba, and it's great for keeping the place tidy and clean.
