Item does not pick up more work was put into the design verses it’s pitpose to pick up and clean.....not worth the money....

Had this for 2 years...it sucks. It's supposed to learn your floorplan...lies it has still never learned the floorplan. The sensor to keep it away from objects...doesn't work it gets stuck EVERY freaking day under the same stupid end table. It gets stuck on the corners of rugs...It doesn't clean the entire floor. It was the biggest waste of money! Buyer BEWARE

0 stars for roomba always.just want to remind ppl these things are worth $150 at best and I have the roomba s9+.they all just look for cables to get caught on and always always always clean what you don’t want.it’s the worst I can’t believe I gave money for this thing. Btw,had 12 roombas.they all sucked and was overpriced.thank you

I was contemplating between the iRobot and the Samsung and went with the iRobot and buy am I disappointed. It does the job when it works. Everyday I receive a notification to my phone that the robot is stuck, needs, to be emptied, falling off a cliff, etc. Not once since I bought has it successfully completed a job. I am looking to get rid of it and buy the Samsung bot or the Shark.

I know that the Roombas have been around a while, but initially I was skeptical of the cleaning ability of this machine. Man, was I wrong. I have to honestly say that the Roomba does a better job of vacuuming our floors and carpets than we ever did. We vacuum very often because we have a cat. The Roomba picked up more cat hair than when we would vacuum. It is very easy to set and to download the app on your phone or tablet. From there you can program it to vacuum the days and times that you want it to. One of the many advantages over the traditional vacuum is that it can get under beds and hard to reach areas that we don't vacuum all of the time. We also love that it can vacuum our hardwood floors and carpet at the same time. With a traditional vacuum we have to change the settings in order not to scratch the floors. After using it for one week, I am a true believer in the Roomba. I would highly recommend this little guy, especially if you have pets.

In the beginning it worked great, but now it doesn’t return back to its charging dock.

The iRobot Roomba 890 Robot Vacuum appeared to work well until the sensors and/or guides broke, so we had to return it and found out nothing could be done to upgrade or prevent this from happening again, so we returned it for a Dyson Cord-Free Vacuum.

Good vacuum just poor app with unreliable connectivity

The brushes broke so had to exchange it for a different model

expected this robot vacuum to work its magic and clean my floors -it got stuck in several areas for a very long time and had me move it manually to have my floor cleaned. might be meant for lazy and incredibly patient people. i ended up returning this and bought the dyson animal

I’m using this to clean a complex, cluttered, open floor plan first floor that includes kitchen, dining area, and den. It is about 800 sq feet. The floor surfaces range from hard wood floors to low pile carpet. It worked! It actually did a really good job cleaning all three areas first time out, and then docked successfully. It’s pattern is absolute madness though. Avoid watching it while it works or you risk insanity, but when all was said and done, it really did a good job cleaning. While the 900 series may be more sophisticated, I see no reason to pay the premium for my space, since the 890 handles it just fine. It would be nice if the app allowed you to tell it where to go, or there was a way to give it a rough map of your space, but really, it seems to just fine all on its own.

Roomba runs out of battery before returning to base since day 1. Every day became a hunt to find where the Roomba is hiding.

Youre better off cleaning with a broom/mop. Not worth it.

Ive had my eye on one of these for a while so when the opportunity came around to test it out I knew I had to jump on it. Its very easy to setup and get connected to the internet. Instructions are very clear and to the point. After I let it charge I hit start on the smartphone app and watched it go. It did a pretty great job navigating through my house and missing stairs. The fact you can set a timer to clean your house when youre not home is just beyond me. Only Con is its a little noisey. Other than that great buy you wont be disappointed.

I would like to start off by saying I currently have a Neato Botvac D80 so when I received this brand new Roomba I was a little disappointed. In this review I will compare what I know (Neato) vs. my new Roomba. The unboxing was very easy and the vacuum is pretty much ready to go when you take it out of the box with a few easy steps to get up and running. The first thing I noticed before turning on is the dust bin I much smaller than the Neato. For someone who has no pets this may not be an issue for you but the Neato bin seems to be almost twice the size. When I did turn it on and watched it go here are some things I noticed vs. the Neato. The vacuum seems to just bounce around vs. having a defined perfectly strait path like the Neato. The Neato uses lasers and an internal GPS system to ensure every inch is covered. With the Roomba, it seems to just keep bouncing around to get all areas. I also noticed that the first bedroom it went in it just did one strip and turned around and left the room uncleaned. I also noticed that because it is not nearly efficient with its sporadic movements, the Roomba seems to last a bit longer in battery life but cannot finish my first floor without having to recharge. It takes quite a bit longer overall to clean my floor vs. the Neato. As far as suction, it is what you can expect from a small vacuum, it isn't a Dyson so don't expect to get dirt and hair from deep down in your carpets. These robot vacs are good for maintaining clean floors only. As far as it getting stuck, it does just fine. The Roomba goes over area rugs, carpet and hard wood with no problem. The app is nice so you can turn it on while at work but the first time I did this it got stuck under my bed by wedging itself underneath a support bar but I was able to stop this in the future by moving some items under my bed around to keep this from happening again. Overall I think this is a great vacuum. It saves so much time and you can expect a clean floor when you get home from work. My two big complaints are the dust bin and the inefficiency of the sporadic bouncing vs. the back and forth predetermined paths of the Neato.

I bought it and returned after 2 days because it was not picking a simple hair and moving over the hair two or three times but not picking it up!! Very dissapointed. Thanks to Bestbuy that they processed a easy return..

I awoke to two pairs of eyes staring intently at me. It was bright and early this morning and my kids were asking if they could "see Jeeves go". We named the Roomba "Jeeves". I gave a groggy thumbs up and a few loud shrieks and happy giggles later, I heard the Rooma activate with a happy-go-lucky tune. Jeeves quietly left its dock and went about its task as the children watched intently, following it from room to room, sometimes tossing bits of paper or other detritus in Jeeves' way to test its ability to do its job. Patiently and without complaint, the Roomba continued on its duties as the children merrily snuck along in its wake. About an hour later, having provided me enough time to prepare breakfast for the family, Jeeves reported the job was done with another happy tune and returned back to its base to relax and recharge. The children happily reported to the table ready to start the day and the floor was clean and ready for playtime. -- Positives: - the Roomba is super easy to assemble and is mostly prepped right out of the box. It's worth going through and examining it for the first time before you turn it on. - the Roomba is super easy to CLEAN. You WILL spend some time maintaining the Roomba.... as the bin gets full pretty quickly the first few runs through. - almost everything that comes in contact with dirt and grime is accessible to you to clean AND is easy to get to without tools. - the mechanism for picking up gunk is two big rubber rollers on the bottom of the Roomba, so that means a lot of fuzz, dirt, hair, and whatever else will be picked up at first compared to your regular vacuum. As Jeev-- ...er... the Roomba cleans your home, it'll naturally pick up just the new dirt and you won't have to empty as much. - the Roomba is a beast. I have kids, so... no judgment... but, I saw it pick up: pieces of pancake (like 1" at least), noodles, raisins, large pieces of egg, you name it. It didn't flinch. It didn't track a mess all over the floor, it just cleaned and kept going. - the Roomba easily cleans under tables and around chairs and pretty much anywhere it can get to. It has no problem transitioning from hardwood to thick carpet and has enough clearance to go over fixed objects (like cord guards and floor mats or metallic table legs flush to the floor/carpet) - the battery is sufficient to clean a LOT before having to recharge. - the schedule feature is easy to learn. - the errors and lights are easy to learn and clearly point to trouble without much guesswork. The app tells you exactly what's going on, too. You can set a remote clean if you want to. - the setup is super easy and FAST. - Robot Vacuum. The floor is wicked clean and WE, BUSY PARENTS, DIDN'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING BUT EMPTY THE BIN. - the kids love it. Seriously, it's their new favorite toy. Negatives: - the "full bin" light came on about halfway through this morning's clean. I paused the clean cycle and emptied the bin and cleaned the contact sensors, but the light didn't turn off. I paused the clean again and cleaned more of the vacuum. Still didn't fix it. The light only turned off once Jeeves returned to its charger again. I'm not sure what that was about, but there's a SLEW of super helpful videos that demonstrate EXACTLY what you need to do to troubleshoot. Some sensors seem to reset only when reconnected with the home base. - I mentioned earlier, you'll need to clean out the rollers and bin quite a bit at first - especially if you have longer hair or someone in the house has longer hair. If you have pets, expect to clean it out A LOT at first unless your existing vacuum is very thorough. - can get stuck and requires your help at first to navigate. If you change the structure, shape, placement, etc of the objects in the room, it can get confused. - bathrooms and under beds are tricky, there's a lot of objects and it seems to get overwhelmed in this space. - they're not kidding when they say make sure home base is easy for the Roomba to get to. The first few times ours got lost because we placed it in our dining room where the nature of the room changes frequently (chairs move, highchair placement varies, etc). It always seems to be able to get back home but not without significant effort. - I wouldn't call this a negative, but... the cleaning approach, while it learns where things are, is... interesting. It "zig-zags" through your home most of the time, rather than going in straight lines along walls and such. There's a method to its madness, but if you are used to the "get everything as clean as possible in the most efficient way before the kids demand your attention again" mode, you're not going to find it here. TL;DR: if you're busy or just hate to clean, you need this. It's really cool and it cleans very well with a minimum of fuss.
