getcha a roomba
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.great looking vacuum, it’s similar to their previous version, been using this on such a limited space for my experience because my middle floor has two different height that separate living room to kitchen area, it made sense to keep it on kitchen where most cooking gets done to it can clean all the way to the dining table space. I find irobot suction power to be alright. i’m not sure if it’s the type of wooded floor I recently got since we just got our floors done, but they don’t seems to get certain dust on a much deeper level than I would hope. I had their roomba before with the self emptying base and even that version they seems to have the same power suction, again i’m not a pro at vacuuming power level but from what i’ve been checking it does alright. I was hoping it will be a much better version of power but for my experience they felt about the same as the last. I love the rubberize track they have doesn’t seems to get stuck picking up hair of my wife. installing and program the vacuum is easy with the app. I do like roombas app I think it’s pretty simple. you can view the map of the space is at using the app. I never got any chance to emptying the battery of this since it’s only vacuuming a small space. but does help picking up pieces of rice on the floor. moping is alright it’s not something you should fully rely on in my option, but with this having that option is great. one thing I was making sure was to not mop any grease spills from cooking and I let it mop the floor when it just dust or regular small water spill. these vacuum are very smart, I tried by putting socks on the floor and overall detecting objects is none issue. beautiful looking vacuum and well build. j5 is issue to use so no complaints, it felt exactly like the previous roomba I own so i’m satisfied. it does sometimes get caught up on my dining tables carpet which ofcourse I end up removing the vacuum to its original location to start functioning properly again.

So many features and a strong vacuum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using a Shark ez robot with self dumping bin for a couple of years now and have been satisfied with it. But the thought of having a robot vacuum with a mop feature got me a little excited, that's how old I am, excited about a robot vacuum with a mop LOL. Opening the box, you get the vacuum, base, drip tray and a dry and wet bin. Set up is straight forward but I really recommend you follow the user manual. Definitely have to download the irobot app to use this vacuum to it's full potential. And this is app is very comprehensive. I personally, like much more simple things and just want to turn it on and let it go and you can do this through the app. But if you are the type that like to adjust and fiddle, man, you can mess with the app for hours setting your vacuum. As for performance, it did great. It was a big improvement over my shark ez. It was quieter and picked up way more dirt, but without the self dumping feature. So now I have to inspect and dump out the dirt more often. The mopping feature was ok, not what I was hoping for but to be honest, I had really high expectations. My kitchen has tile and I make a big mess when cooking. Lot's of sauce droppings and food stains, LOL, I was hoping that the irobot would make it spotless all the time but no, it's not as powerful as a traditional mop with your muscles but it does help with a lot of stains. That and the fact that there is a lot of water on the drip tray which makes me worry about mildew make me give it 4 stars. Other than these 2 problems, it's a pretty darn good unit with plenty of vacuum suction and so many options on the app. If you temper what to expect from the mop feature, I think this is a solid robot vacuum.

Great Robot Vacuum Option
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a huge fan of the iRobot Roomba robot vacuums so I was excited to give the Roomba Combo J5 Robot Vacuum & Mop in the Graphite color a try. The first and most important thing is that this iRobot option continues its tradition of doing an excellent job at its main task which is cleaning and doing it well. It does a great job of adequately mapping things so that it avoids most objects and obstacles as expected. It knows when and where to give cleaning a little more attention when needed thanks to the onboard camera. The app works extremely well and has always been the most consistent and useful of robot vacuum apps I have ever used versus several other brands I have tried. Where I am a little less thrilled about its performance would be with the mop feature. By no means is it terrible but it is a little less accurate and intuitive as far as the mapping than it is with the vacuum function which means that so far even after several uses I find that it will still get too close to carpet areas and sometimes "mops" portions of the carpet despite programming the entire area as a no mop zone. I assume this is happening when it needs to cross that area to get to another mop zone but over a little more time this may iron out and not occur. The water tank is smaller than I would like requiring refill more often which isn't necessarily a deal breaker but is a little inconvenient. If I was relying on a robot for my mopping needs solely I would go with a different iRobot version that handles it a bit better out of the box. Overall, this is still a great option to consider for your cleaning needs.

Really does vacuum and mop pretty decently
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iRobot Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop – Graphite can clean floors and carpets or rugs pretty decently. To start using the iRobot Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop – Graphite, I needed to install the iRobot Home App on my phone. I opened the side menu and selected “add your product.” Once added, I needed to scan the QR code and follow instructions to complete the setup. With the iRobot Home App, I can control scheduling a cleaning, give instructions on were to clean, were not to clean and were not to mop. I even have use of voice control through Alexa. The Roomba has artificial intelligence that grows with its use. It remembers the areas it previously cleaned and how dirty those areas were to maximize its cleaning potential. The iRobot Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop – Graphite supposedly can identify and avoid obstacles in its path. My experience though was sometimes things in its path were pushed out of its way instead of going around them and sometimes debris might get missed. Dirt, dust and floor stains were scrubbed clean with the microfiber pads. The iRobot Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop – Graphite cleaned each room with a wall to wall strategy all in a row. To begin the mopping function, I needed to change the interchangeable Roomba Combo vacuum Bin with its mopping pad. The AI within it detects carpets and avoids mopping them. Once the IRoomba is programmed through the app with all of the needs for vacuuming and mopping my home, I can sit back and relax to allow the iRoomba to clean smarter and smarter each time its AI learns more with each use.

Good cleaning-But it leaves something to be desire
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall This is one of those brands you can't overlook. It's in practically everyone's statements who are referring to anything robot vacuums. Back in 2016, when I purchased my first robo vacuum, this brand was listed in practically every review channel I found while researching some options. Albeit, at the time, we didn't have the overcrowded market of vacs that we do today. By comparison, this machine is much, much lower to the ground than any of my previous vacuums have been and easily glides under some pretty low-height furniture, where other vacs would crash with their window of roof mounted sensors. However, this machine has an odd aesthetic with its single-sided brush that sticks out like a sore thumb. While the front of the machine does feature a uniform array of various sensors, a push bumper, windowed sensors for proximity, and a full-color camera. With an underside offering drop sensors and your standard drive wheel spring-loaded sensor. Combined, they offer adequate performance navigating your space. That said, there are some glaring issues that could be better addressed. Setup Setting up and getting this bot ready for your first cleaning job is fairly straightforward. Download the iRobot app to connect it to your network. Place the vacuum on the charger and slide in the drip plate. Wait a few hours to charge and perform a mapping run. The instructions don't really guide you in any particular way other than pairing with the app, this caused me to not realize the mopping function would need to be carried out simultaneously while vacuuming. This ended up setting me back. Something to note: my original unit failed after the first run, and the only reason I bring this up here is due to the setup of the replacement unit. Upon signing in, the app asked if I wanted to import my previous map that the first unit did manage to produce before it failed. One thing that is worth mentioning, while the first unit was completely dead, at least to my knowledge, the app asked to import the map from the first unit so the second wouldn't need to recreate it. The vac was able to import something. I can only assume it had to pull it from the cloud servers. This makes setting up a newer machine with mapping capabilities simple for the end user and with minimal downtime. Features Navigating your space is fairly accurate but it does tend to produce a lot of "obstacle" alerts. Things such as the corner of a couch, a box in the corner of the room, and oddly enough, my refrigerator. None has ever came up as a repeated obstacle so I can only deduce that these will eventually go away with time. I will add that none are objects that move around. That said, it's range of mapping is impressive showing a range of depth to a room that's further than the vacuum might have actually accessed. With a mapped floor, the app allows the customization of floors, creating logical areas of your space, and specific clean zones, no access zones, and no mop zones. I will add that these zones don't always mean what it is labeled to the vac, more on that in the issues section. Creating schedules takes the repetitive task of starting the bot when your space is ready, from time-based schedules to something more granular, such as when your home is vacant. This is possible through third-party integrations such as August door locks, among others, and your mobile phone's location data, i.e. if you leave home and no other user is present, it will begin it's cleaning task. Performance Cleaning is great for this machine, which depending on your surface type and level of dirt it may have accessed, will increase it's suction power on a "as needed" basis. Navigating different surface types from carpet, to vinyl, and tile have been excellent. It being able to vac and mop simultaneously takes the trouble of having to baby sit the machine until it's finished a task to change accessories for the next. The odd aesthetics of this vacuum with it's single side brush, however unsightly, handles tasks quite well. It defaults to a side to side pattern then circles the space to pick up dirt along a wall. Unlike other machines, there is no noticable setting to change that clean pattern. Mopping is efficient, and even with the tank full of water, the vac does really well cleaning most if not all forms of smudges on hard surfaces. The battery isn't as long lasting as I hoped, with about it being able to achieve about 1 hour of runtime. This is far less than what I've typically seen with similar vacuums Of similar capabilities. Issues -My first run must of caused something. It performed it's cleaning run, went back to the charger and never turned back on. Occasionally changing it's position would tell that it was indeed on the charger but there was no audible feedback from the vacuum. After consulting the FAQ page on the manufacturers website, I learned that when the vacuum depletes it's charge it would go into a sleep like mode where it completely shuts down and doesn't react to anything. I left it alone to charge for about a day and a half and when I eventually came back to try use it again, it was in the same state. After reaching out to iRobot support, I was quickly sent a replacement and service information. While waiting for that, I looked at the manuals found on the site and learned that there is a troubleshooting section covering a battery replacement method. This at least means it is end user serviceable. A few days after failing, while examining the machine for details mentioned in the troubleshooting section of the manual. I realized the original unit had a burnt electronics/sulfur scent coming from it. This makes me believe some type of issue with the battery. -This vac easily gets confused even with a mapped floor. I originally placed this in the dining room. According to the documentation, this vac should have an open space with about 3' open on each side. It certainly gets this and after seeing it fail miserably, labeled the table area as "no access" zone. The issue here is that when you first start, it enters a state the app calls "cleaning and discovery". This state seems to neglect your zoning information and will traverse any zone that may have been labeled to restrict access. Map data seems to do the same as it, while in this discovery state, will crash into just about everything in it's path. -The mop has a constant leak when equipped. I originally believed the mop had a type of injector that would help coat the fabric with moisture so that the vac could do adequate cleaning, but upon the first fill of water in the resirviour, I immediately noticed it began leaking from the fabric. This has me questioning the actual use case of the "no mop" zones if it will still drip moisture into your carpets. Conclusion This is an overall very nice cleaning machine. Despite it’s flaws, it can clean what I need fairly well. There are several annoyances to deal with but with the right customer, these may not be an issue.

Avoid and stick to the premium iRobot versions
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There comes a time when companies that dominate space initially get surpassed. Most of the time, this is due to the inability to innovate and the reliance on the name to sell the products. That's what has happened to iRobot in recent years. They were once the leaders in robot vacuuming, but now, in 2023, many other brands out there perform better while having more features. iRobot still makes a serviceable robot vacuum. Don't get me wrong. They're far from being low quality. However, they should lean into the premium space more than the affordable. There are too many affordable, cheap vacuums out there. And this j5 unit, unfortunately, belongs in that tier. This robot is loud and doesn't pack the punch like I expected. The mapping feature is cumbersome in the beginning setup and runs. The mop feature doesn't mesh as well as other vacuums with the vacuuming. Some options will automatically know when there is carpet or rugs and avoid those while mopping. We've had versions of vacuums that work very well with this, but the iRobot has struggled with it the first few run-throughs. It may be because it needs to learn the house's layout, but again, many other vacuums can do this in one run-through. Let's start with what comes in the box. This version of the j5 does not come with the auto cleaner (that you can find for around $250). The package includes a j5 vacuum, charging station, filter, mopping pad, combo bin, brush with an extra drip tray, and a microfiber cloth. These are all standard for a robot vacuum priced at $350. This vacuum is priced at $350 but has an MSRP of $600. At $350, this is an average value, but I can't recommend it at $600. Far too many options have more features, better power, and an auto-empty charging base. My biggest frustration with robot vacuums is the constant emptying of the dustbin. If you have a dog for example, pet hair can accumulate quickly, and if the tray isn't large enough or you don't have an auto-empty charging stand, you'll have to empty the bin 1-2 each cleaning session. That defeats the purpose of the robot. I'd instead grab my stick vacuum and do a quick run-through, then take the bin out and empty it for it to complete a job. That's what you'll have to do with the j5. The dustbin is so tiny that I can only get through one entire session with it filling up. My current robot vacuum (not iRobot) has a much larger bin. We brought that one upstairs and kept the iRobot downstairs, but we may have to switch that setup due to the small bin. The positive thing about iRobot is its app. It's easy to use and feels very fleshed out and polished. Apps are generally more hit than miss for "robot" devices, but iRobot has created a fluid app that's easy to connect. However, that is the app itself and not necessarily a correlation with this particular vacuum. It'd be a great combo if you paired this app with one of iRobot's more premium offerings. But as great as the app is, the vacuum has to be just as good, and the j5 isn't at MSRP price. I can't recommend this model when there are many other brands and options that do more. If you're going to go with iRobot, I'd suggest getting one of their more premium offerings and avoid going standard at this price point. Their name alone doesn't add value that better features, a bigger dustbin, a quieter more powerful robot vacuum can.

A good combo vac and mop with caveats
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have long been a fan of the Roomba. I got the first one back in the day and loved it. Now, several years later with alot of competition, the bar is set pretty high. The iRobot Roomba j5 tries to separate itself from the pack as a combo vacuum bot and mop bot. The build quality seems decent. The basic Roomba formula remains the same across the years I feel. I have had fairly good luck with the various iRobot models in terms of longevity. In terms of functionality, it vacuums well in standard Roomba function. Now because of the two in one function, the bin is pretty small. I had to empty it fairly frequently. Add a shedding dog to the mix and I found that it needed to stop fairly quickly every time. I would find that it would not have finished vacuuming when I came home due to the need to empty the bin. The mapping function seems to work fairly well and it did a good job avoiding objects from my direct observation. The mop function is decent as well but it does seem to leave some areas uncleaned. It did not feel as thorough of a clean compared to the vacuum. All in all, this is a decent combo robot vacuum and mop for the right people. I feel it is more specialized towards people with a smaller and simple space.

Swing and a miss
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Providing some context, we are a household of vacuum cleaners. We have a handheld Dyson which we love, a shark robot vacuum, and a Deebot robot vacuum/mop that I was planning to replace with this because the Deebot is older but I’m thinking I may keep the Deebot. Out of the box, I really liked the look of the vacuum as it looked higher end than some of its counterparts. The packaging was minimal but modern, which is great. It came with the vacuum, base, a spare filter, and mop attachments. Setup was pretty simple, there’s a companion app, which makes me roll my eyes a lot for modern electronics but things like this pretty much need one so I certainly won’t dock them for requiring one. The vacuum didn’t come charged so I set it up on the base and let it idle for a while until completion. The area I was testing on was our downstairs which includes a dining area, kitchen, and common room, all in an open space concept, probably around 500sf total, certainly not a massive area by any stretch. Like most robo vacuums, it started off by having me tidy up the area and then went on a map creation tour/cleaning. I noticed immediately that the map they created was very accurate, moreso than the Shark vacuum but less than the Deebot. The vacuuming though, I’d consider… aggressive for better lack of a term. Especially on an opening/maping mission, it just barreled through some of the obstacles I’d setup to see how it’d handle things like the mat that our dog food goes on. It’s maybe an inch high but the machine just rode right over it and knocked into the food/water dish for example. We also have multiple rugs on the pathway and it certainly bent up the edges a bit, much more than the Deebot. I certainly didn’t love that, it seems like it has issues with objects, being gentle, and/or a combination of suction power though I was just using the normal setting. I will note the vacuum did seem to pick up a lot and was very thorough, even maybe moreso than the Deebot but at the cost of running into everything and putting wear on my rugs, I don’t think it’s worthwhile. Checking out the app, there was most of the normal settings like setting up vacuuming schedules, suction power, creating rooms from the map so that you can pick which rooms to clean, etc. All was looking good until… I realized that this is the only vacuum app that doesn’t have “no go” zones. What?! That’s arguably the most important feature for a robot vacuum and I’ve triple checked, yet can’t find an area for establishing no go zones, which is insane. Thus leading to the next hurdle which is mopping… vacuuming without a no go zone is crazy but mopping without one is double crazy. On the app, I selected that I’m now going to attempt to mop, the app prompted up roughly 7 steps with visuals to help me prepare and disassemble after mopping, and then we were off to the races. Tough part though is that with the mopping feature, it basically starts leaving a wet trail the moment it touches ground and leaves the base. I have a rug not far from the base that basically is the size of our room so even if I want to mop the kitchen, the machine has to leave a big wet streak across the rug to get there, there’s no way to stop the mopping liquid from coming out. Lucky for me, there’s about a 1ft clearance along my baseboard for the vacuum to get around the rug and not get it wet yet… THERE’S NO “No-go” SETTING. So I just basically had to stick my foot out and walk alongside the machine until it looped around my rug and got to the kitchen. The rest of the mopping process was fine at best, a little streaky and it just was messy with the fluid leaking from the second you put it into the machine until the job is done and you can quickly move the machine to a sink area where you can drain the rest of the fluid. There has to be a better way to all of this, I’ll likely just go back to normal mopping because the time it takes to load fluid, swap attachments, open the app, change settings, build a barricade or walk alongside the device, then clean the mop feature, drain it, clean up excess leakage, put the vacuum feature, back on, I’d rather just do it all manually myself. Went back to manual vacuuming, setup a schedule only to find that the machine got itself stuck under my coffee table with no proactive alert. I opened the app and it just said the machine was lost, to move it, click the power button, and it’d resume, which it did. I just don’t know what caused it to be stuck as there’s plenty of clearance in either direction. Came back hours later and thought the job was done only to find the vacuum stuck nearby again. Either way, it’s just a bigger headache than anyone would like and worse than anything else I own. Even the time it takes to clean a 500sf room was over an hour, much longer than my other devices. The only thing I can recommend this for would be its suction power and look, but everything else is a rough time. Can’t recommend

Loving the mop/sweep attachment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the roomba, home base charging station, 1 extra filter, 1 extra edge sweeping brush, 1 microfiber mopping pad, drip tray, line cord, warranty/safety information and a getting started card with a QR code. First impression, ugh, I have to download another app. The roomba is solid and a little heavy but I its a good weight for what it needs to do. There are two rubber/silicone wheels that spin to pick up the dirt and there is an attachment for the mob/sweep combo. As soon as you open the box, it is neatly packed and there are extras which is always good to have. You put the roomba on the charger and drip tray and download the app. The app walks you through everything including connecting the roomba to WiFi and then you start to the scanning process. When you first get this going, you realize there is probably a lot of things sitting around the house that you should probably move so the roomba can properly scan but the good news is, the roomba will avoid them. There is a little light and camera on the front, so if there is an obstacle then the roomba will take a photo and show you when it’s done cleaning. When I first started using the roomba, I was a little upset that I had to attach a separate attachment for the mop but it’s actually a great thing that there are two. Some days, you may not want to mop, so you can switch back to the sweep attachment and not have to worry about filling up the little water tank. Right now, I am very impressed with not only the app but I am impressed with the cleaning. This thing is finding tons of dirt and dusting for me nightly. (I have it set to clean every night and I plan to try to mop every couple of nights but for now, I am going to leave the mop attachment on since it still does a great job with sweeping too.) Beware, the roomba knows what a carpet is, so if the mop attachment is on there, it will not sweep and mop the rugs. Another thing I really like is the mapping option where you tell the roomba what room is which. The map actually already knew what my kitchen, dining and living room was but it didn’t know what the bathroom was because I have a HUGE rug in there. I tried to update it to say bathroom but the app kept crashing. I tried just now and I was able to create a divider and add my bathroom. Beware, take your time and work with the app, if you try and tap too fast, the app will be bogged down and crash. I also want to add to check the bottom side of your roomba everyday after cleaning. Our house consists of three females and one male. Th edge sweeping brush always manages to be twisted with hair, so I definitely make sure I check that often. Also, make sure there isn’t any large pieces of trash on the floor when its time to clean. My roomba ended up finding a chunk of cardboard and picked it up but since it couldn’t get to the bin, the roomba stopped and waited for me get it out before moving on. Luckily, I was up (my cleaning setting is set for midnight, which during the week I am asleep already) and I was able to get it out and finish the cleaning. Please note, if something gets trapped in the rollers, the roomba will not move until you get it out and the battery will still drain. I had that happen and I had to recharge again before I could finish the cleaning. The roomba doesn’t take long to charge and when you look at the app, it will tell you how long it will take to be fully charged. Also, please note, I am not able to accurately judge how well the mop works because I have high traffic areas that I use the roomba for. I did notice a difference on all of my vinyl and laminate floors and the mop head was a little dirty but not really a whole lot. I was able to rub the mop cloth under running warm water and the little dirt patch went away. Overall, I am highly impressed with the roomba and the roomba app. I would definitely recommend this product to all of my friends and family!

Newest Roomba/Braava combo.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned four Roomba vacuums and 1 Braava mop. The setup of this Roomba took longer than any of the other machines I have owned. The process of registering the iRobot Roomba combo i5 was plagued with pitfalls, I had to retry a few times before it registered with the application. The mapping of the whole house (1537 square feet) took 3 tries and 8 hours to complete properly over 2 days. Once the mapping was completed, I named all the rooms and moved the walls to the proper location. The house is rectangular, but Roomba mapped it as an “L” shape mostly. Once the process was completed, I sent it to different rooms to vacuum. The vacuum went to each room and completed it properly. After switching to the mopping insert, I filled the reservoir with cleaning solution and ran it through a cycle. I had to refill the reservoir a few times. The fact that the Roomba vacuums as it mops is a plus. The mop portion will only get the light stuff, you will need to spot clean to get the tuff spots. This iRobot Roomba is small enough to go under all my furniture and tables. It still has the same problem as all the past Roomba’s and cleans the same area multiple times.

Not impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always liked the Roomba vacuums. They have always performed well and left nice vacuum lines on my carpets. I was excited to have the opportunity to own a vacuum and mop combo robot vacuum. The look of it is pretty cool. It's futuristic looking, especially with the shiny silver part. The design itself is a standard round shape, like most robot vacuums. The base charger is pretty low profile and isn't an eyesore in my living room. Setting everything up in the app and the bins for each task, vacuuming or mopping, was very easy to do and fairly quick. I do feel that setup time depends on the size of your space but overall is quick. Once configured, I started with the vacuum function and it works great. Seems to leave nothing behind and is pretty quiet for what it is. Once I let it run a few times, I switched to the mop function. For dry mopping, it does okay in terms of keeping dust and dirt off the hard floors but I do recommend sweeping or vacuuming manually as this doesn't not do well with a dirty floor on it's own. The wet mop function is okay but, again, I feel like it is more of a way to maintain clean floors and not really clean thoroughly like I would with scrubbing the floors. I'm honestly not that impressed with the mop part of this vacuum. Overall, it's ok but for my cleaning preferences, the vacuum part is the only plus.

Another great product from iRobot
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love iRobot. This roomba j5 is well made. The charging base comes with an attachable drip tray. You get an extra brush, mop pad and filter as well. You just use the velcro for the mop pad . Super easy to put on and remove. You can throw the pad to wash. Another cool feature is that you can adjust the height of the mop pad based on your floor. The charging base has a nice rubber grip on the bottom. The bin is easy to remove by pressing the eject button. On the bottom of the j5 you have the 1 spin brush and the 2 rollers picking up the debree from the floor. The suction power on the roomba j5 is very good. Don't be surprised if the top of the roomba is dirty, that just shows you how strong its agitating the debris from the floor. It's great for picking up pet hair. I did forget to mention the j5 has a camera and sensor in the front to get the layout of your home. The first time it was slow to map my floor this is normal. After it has mapped out the home it will clean better and faster. So dont get upset be patient for that first use. The app is nice too its made to be used on multiple floors. You can create your own keep out zones and name each room in your home. With that you can have it clean everything or certain rooms. You see pictures of areas it couldnt clean with that camera. You can even program that area to be permanent keep out zones or temporary ones. You get notifications from the app if anything is wrong. I can say the app is easy to use

Live- in Maid EVERY DAY!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE THIS MACHINE! It’s like having a live-in maid cleaning my house EVERY DAY! Set up was very easy following the enclosed instructions as well as the iRobot app. I also like that it creates a digital map of your house, so first it has to go on a few runs without vacuuming just to get the lay of the land, then once it creates the map you can label all the rooms and tell it when you only want it to vacuum certain areas. For starters, this vacuum does a fantastic job at cleaning up dirt, crumbs, hair, etc. I have emptied the dust pan quite a few times and was impressed with the suction power from the Roomba j5. The sensor/camera on the Roomba has been very efficient and doesn't bump into many objects. The App allows the ability to adjust the obstacle detection, vacuums behavior, cleaning schedules, and overall AI detection information (Imprint Smart Mapping) for vacuum accuracy in each room. Overtime, the vacuum will create zones, and you can then label each zone as a room. Overall, the j5 is a great vacuum, but falls a little short for mopping. Yes, swapping the dust bin for the mop bin is easy. However, you will need to clean the mop portion as it has a thin pad and damp fast. I do enjoy the AI of the vacuum mapping my place out and also being able to select specific rooms I do not want the vacuum to go. Thumbs up from me!

Great update for an already great product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iRobot - Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop - Graphite is a great product. I've always been leary of these products, as I own an older Roomba model. It would get stuck fairly often when transitioning between a shag carpet to wood floors. I haven't come across this same issue during my review. It's kind of odd seeing a camera with a light at the front of the unit but this is actually pretty awesome. You're able to control this via the app on your phone. I normally hate hate hate this type of set up but it works really well. I suppose older generations will skip this just for the simplicity of other products. The app works pretty well, more so because you have actual control on the app. Testing this on hardwood floors, tile and carpet allowed me to see how this operates in different areas/conditions. It's important to have good lighting in spaces this services as well. Cleanup is very easy, you just pop the collection container out and remove the contents. This product also includes a drip pan that is located in a smaller box under the unit itself. Overall I'm very happy with this product. Does a good job with pet hair and hasn't gotten stuck where it shouldn't be. It also avoids wires, its good to see this type of technology catching up in the world of domestic cleaning products.

Cleans Great
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little vacuum was super easy getting up and running. The charge base is small and takes up little room. It is ready to go once it is charged, about an hour out of the box, and the mobile app installed. You even have the cool option of naming it anything you like in the app. Once you create and setup the account it is ready to go once charged. Initially, the vacuum will run a mapping routine of all your rooms. I was a little concerned at first because it was bumping into things frequently. Once completed, you can setup zones if you like. After mapping, it did a much better job of navigating and avoided obstacles well. It has a very bright headlight it uses to get a round. It does an excellent job of vacuuming. It has one rotating brush and and a small air filter in the dust pan. It comes with an extra replacement brush and filter as well. The dust pan holds a lot. Just be careful emptying because it has an open hole and you can accidentally dump everything if you are not careful. Moping does well also and the interchangeable head includes a mop head and drip pan to set it on while it dries. Just don't forget to remove the filter or you will have to replace it it gets wet. Overall, it does as good a job as most stick or regular vacuums.

Simple, Effective Cleaning and Cat Entertainment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup is pretty simple, the docking station is just two pieces (the charger and base), just set the vacuum on the base and set everything through the app (do have to create iRobot app account). It'll do a quick mapping (relatively well, missed an entire portion of the doorway/hallway where I have my cat's litter box situated.) of the area you wish to it clean (can adjust/select settings for areas or method of cleaning). After the mapping, you can have it go around and vacuum/mop. For vacuuming it does pretty well, it is pretty loud if going over hard surfaces (my entire apartment is hardwood floor) and the spinning bristles do tend to knock the debris out of the path of the Roomba, leaving you to hope it'll get it on a pass through. For mopping, it'll be situational as the provided pad is very small and thin, so don't expect it to clean more than maybe a small kitchen without needing to be swapped. A feature I do like is the button lock to prevent children and/or pets from activating the device on accident. Overall, it'll be a useful tool to help take a small chore out of my daily routine and my cat does like to watch it go around and clean.

Highly recommended vac/mop combo!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little vacuum that gets the job done. This is a simple vaccum with a charging base. It offers vaccum and hardwood mopping. Setup is easy, just the typical parts to install and setup the base and plug in. While charging I setup the device to my app. Easy peasy. Functions works well and its clear what the settings are. Its operated well and fairly quite. Obstacle avoidance works well and it covered the area quickly. While I do prefer the canister that empties the vaccum I was surprised that it did take a few passes to get this bin full. The app is easy to understand and setup. It did the mapping then quickly started working. Easy to setup and label the rooms and setup the schedule. Overall, it did the job it was tasked with. and the vaccum and mopping worked well. I like the app as its easy to know whats happening and why. I do wish I was able to install on a bin. but this works well for our needs. Highly recommended product that has a good track record and continually performs!

Does a good job!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. I like the iroomba combo. It provides that extra help one may need when you don’t want to vacuum, or mop. I gave it 4 stars because it does not clean as well and one would using a hand held vacuum. But I definitely like this little helper!

Roomba
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does a great job of vacuuming & mopping I’m pleased with it . I like that it’s connects to my echo dot & you can command it from there or from the app it’s convenient. But I wish it had more battery life & wouldn’t get full so fast other than that I’d recommend it.

Single guy's perfect home companion
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical of buying a $300 device to vacuum and mop, but now I livve alone divorced and have a busy job. I now rarely have to spend an hour of my busy life mopping and vacuuming. It took about a week to learn how to operate, but now I use it all the time. And it doesn't complain when I come home late. Still having trouble with mopping, but if the mopping isn't adequate I just send it to d it over and it doesn't complain
