Great update for an already great product

The iRobot - Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop - Graphite is a great product. I've always been leary of these products, as I own an older Roomba model. It would get stuck fairly often when transitioning between a shag carpet to wood floors. I haven't come across this same issue during my review. It's kind of odd seeing a camera with a light at the front of the unit but this is actually pretty awesome. You're able to control this via the app on your phone. I normally hate hate hate this type of set up but it works really well. I suppose older generations will skip this just for the simplicity of other products. The app works pretty well, more so because you have actual control on the app. Testing this on hardwood floors, tile and carpet allowed me to see how this operates in different areas/conditions. It's important to have good lighting in spaces this services as well. Cleanup is very easy, you just pop the collection container out and remove the contents. This product also includes a drip pan that is located in a smaller box under the unit itself. Overall I'm very happy with this product. Does a good job with pet hair and hasn't gotten stuck where it shouldn't be. It also avoids wires, its good to see this type of technology catching up in the world of domestic cleaning products.

This little vacuum was super easy getting up and running. The charge base is small and takes up little room. It is ready to go once it is charged, about an hour out of the box, and the mobile app installed. You even have the cool option of naming it anything you like in the app. Once you create and setup the account it is ready to go once charged. Initially, the vacuum will run a mapping routine of all your rooms. I was a little concerned at first because it was bumping into things frequently. Once completed, you can setup zones if you like. After mapping, it did a much better job of navigating and avoided obstacles well. It has a very bright headlight it uses to get a round. It does an excellent job of vacuuming. It has one rotating brush and and a small air filter in the dust pan. It comes with an extra replacement brush and filter as well. The dust pan holds a lot. Just be careful emptying because it has an open hole and you can accidentally dump everything if you are not careful. Moping does well also and the interchangeable head includes a mop head and drip pan to set it on while it dries. Just don't forget to remove the filter or you will have to replace it it gets wet. Overall, it does as good a job as most stick or regular vacuums.

Setup is pretty simple, the docking station is just two pieces (the charger and base), just set the vacuum on the base and set everything through the app (do have to create iRobot app account). It'll do a quick mapping (relatively well, missed an entire portion of the doorway/hallway where I have my cat's litter box situated.) of the area you wish to it clean (can adjust/select settings for areas or method of cleaning).
After the mapping, you can have it go around and vacuum/mop. For vacuuming it does pretty well, it is pretty loud if going over hard surfaces (my entire apartment is hardwood floor) and the spinning bristles do tend to knock the debris out of the path of the Roomba, leaving you to hope it'll get it on a pass through. For mopping, it'll be situational as the provided pad is very small and thin, so don't expect it to clean more than maybe a small kitchen without needing to be swapped.
A feature I do like is the button lock to prevent children and/or pets from activating the device on accident.
Overall, it'll be a useful tool to help take a small chore out of my daily routine and my cat does like to watch it go around and clean.

Great little vacuum that gets the job done.
This is a simple vaccum with a charging base. It offers vaccum and hardwood mopping.
Setup is easy, just the typical parts to install and setup the base and plug in. While charging I setup the device to my app. Easy peasy.
Functions works well and its clear what the settings are. Its operated well and fairly quite. Obstacle avoidance works well and it covered the area quickly.
While I do prefer the canister that empties the vaccum I was surprised that it did take a few passes to get this bin full.
The app is easy to understand and setup. It did the mapping then quickly started working. Easy to setup and label the rooms and setup the schedule.
Overall, it did the job it was tasked with. and the vaccum and mopping worked well.
I like the app as its easy to know whats happening and why.
I do wish I was able to install on a bin. but this works well for our needs.
Highly recommended product that has a good track record and continually performs!

So far so good. I like the iroomba combo. It provides that extra help one may need when you don’t want to vacuum, or mop. I gave it 4 stars because it does not clean as well and one would using a hand held vacuum. But I definitely like this little helper!

It does a great job of vacuuming & mopping I’m pleased with it . I like that it’s connects to my echo dot & you can command it from there or from the app it’s convenient. But I wish it had more battery life & wouldn’t get full so fast other than that I’d recommend it.

I was skeptical of buying a $300 device to vacuum and mop, but now I livve alone divorced and have a busy job. I now rarely have to spend an hour of my busy life mopping and vacuuming. It took about a week to learn how to operate, but now I use it all the time. And it doesn't complain when I come home late. Still having trouble with mopping, but if the mopping isn't adequate I just send it to d it over and it doesn't complain

Works well. Keeps the apartment clean (We run in 3 times a week). We use the combo bin with mop and it cleans our hard floors well.

It handles the pet hair well. Easy to clean and empty as the hair does get wrapped around the rollerz

Don't buy the i5 or newer - won't clean!

Refuses to clean various areas and will go to charging station after a minute of "cleaning", mapping feature is overrated (if you miss a room, you have to make a new map from scratch). Makes a lot of noise and doesn't do a good job.
The older models that didn't have these "new" map features were better - still noisy, but at least you can make them spot clean and they would actually go through your house multiple times rather than just once.
Their customer service is also pretty unhelpful and getting help is hard. Honestly, stick with a better company!

I have read reviews of others and unclear given they seem to all complain about missed areas, uneven cleaning, the vacuum bin too small, frequent changing of said bin…yet they all give 4 or more stars.
I gave it 2 stars but closer to three but deferred to the lower star rating. The unit takes about 25-40 minutes to get fully charged, so I consider that acceptable. Unacceptable is the minor leak not excessive and seems to get better.
Vacuum is very good but due to the combo unit, the vacuum bin is very small so you have to change it frequently, I have a golden retriever, nuff said. Mopping is pretty good but is unforgiving if floor is not perfectly flat or even if it senses a slight uneven edge which it tends to mistake for a drop. So some areas will not get clean, I tried adjusting what I could and it got better almost but still misses the uneven drop area.
You get everything you need to get started and solutions. You can also use generic solutions to save money, which is what I do. Buy it on sale and best suited to flat floors and areas that are not subjected to excess dust or pets.

This thing sucks for 600+$. I'd stay away from iRobot and its products. They never work. Smart maps are always a mess. I ask the roomba to clean one room, and it does the opposite. Selecting multiple rooms to clean never does the job. It even say the job is completed by just cleaning one room. This Roomba i7 is very confused. And the j5 cannot vacuum carpets that are higher than 1/4 inch. Which is confirmed by the Customer Support. How stupid are they? They just said the j5 can only vacuum floors and not carpets. Being j5's navigation based on a camera, it's been a year now, and it would still ask for a review when it sees a curtain in the room for the hundredth time. Spend your money elsewhere. I have been an iRobot Customer since 2018, with i7 being my first vacuum and now j5. Both have been garbage for the past 3 years. It has been nothing but a headache to me.

This robovac has been pretty disappointing. It constantly can’t get itself back to the base station and the battery needs to be recharged twice to completely clean my 2000 sq ft home. I’ve had to factory reset it several times because it can’t connect to my network. I have found that it’s smart clean mode (avoiding objects) seems to make it difficult for the robot to map my house. Once I turned that off the mapping worked better. However, this thing can never get to where it’s going without making several incorrect turns first. The actual suction is fair but not as strong as I would expect with how loud this product is while vacuuming.

You spend more time tending to this things issues than manually vacuuming the house. This is simply a nice to have item to help around the house but cannot be relied on to do a great job. The mopping function simply drags a wet piece of fabric behind it to wet the floor and maybe pick up a spot or two.

Will not charge. When I tried to use the mop, it threw everything off. Hope they will give me a replacement. Had high hopes to let Roomba do the floors but I guess she thinks I should have to push a vacuum myself sadly

Excahnged the Roomba 694 for the J5 simce the price dropped. After the first 2 cleaning sessions it has issues getting around, and getting off ghe home station. These issues include randonly thinking that it’s stuck on a cliff while its on a flat hardwood surface, and after undocking from the home station it thinks its stuck on the dock. Each time I move it to a new location like it asked, it gives me a dropoff detected error. Spent 2 hours trying to fix this, and still randomly stops in the middle of a job. Going to return this, and go back to the cheaper, simpler 694 that actually worked.
