Hello everyone, so this review is for the i5 series robot Roomba. Super awesome little machine. Setting it up was easy. Just follow the instructions included and when you download the app, keep following the directions.The app is very user friendly and setting up was simple. Once setup you can brows through the various settings to familiarize yourself with all the features. Let's talk about them now. Like I said, it is very simple and the app has many tips and extra information to tell you about the settings. You get to name the robot during setup. I started off with having the robot vacuum make a map of my house to memorize its cleaning areas. It can take awhile if you have a larger home and with many obstacles. my house is about 2400 sq ft total but we closed the doors to the bedrooms and just had it focus on the other rooms in the house so it was about 1200 ft total. It took about 4 hours to complete mapping the areas. Once the areas are mapped out you, it automatically separate the rooms for you; i.e. dining, kitchen, living room but you have to manually assign the names of each room. Once your house is mapped out you can either clean the entire house or select individual rooms. You can also set the days and times you want the robot to vacuum your home. I choose Mondays and Fridays at 9am. The charge of the robot does last about 3.5 to 4 hours and once it has low battery, it'll return to its docking station, recharge and then go out and resume vacuuming until it has finished vacuuming the assigned areas. You will also get notifications sent to you phone if it has gotten stuck or when it bin requires to be emptied. You will have to pick up loose stringy items as it has revolving little sweepers. We have cats and one of their stringy toys was left on the ground and it got tangled within the sweepers and bent it a little. Luckily there are 3 revolving sweepers. There was one mishap where it didn't dock correctly and wasn't able to charge so it missed one of my assigned times to vacuum but other than that it has worked great. It was an easy fix to resit the robot on the docking station to allow it to charge fully and then it was ready to go again. This does save me a lot of time from cleaning a larger home. The mopping part does work rather well. I have used it in my kitchen but it doesn't get under cabinets because it cannot fit so sweeping and mopping under cabinets and in tighter spaces has to be done manually.

This is great because I have hardwood floors with lots of floating area rugs, so it can go back and forth between the two functions. CONS: - This version does NOT have the self-emptying dustbin. If I could do it over again, I would have prioritized the self-emptying to further automate my cleaning routine. - Water Tank Capacity: I wish there was a larger tank, but then the device would have to be bigger. The price you pay for sleekness, but I do sometimes wish it went further. - Noise Level: Although not as loud as my previous generations of robot vacuums, there is still a good amount of noise. - Occasional Navigation Issues: My device gets stuck or “confused” sometimes in more dense areas of the house. Every once in a while I do have to pick it up to “save” it. - Limited Deep Cleaning: While the mop and vacuum function is appropriate for handling light vacuuming or mopping tasks, it will never replace a manual deep cleaning. I like to use my Roomba for regular cleaning a couple times a week, but I still have to pull out my stick vacuum or Swiffer every once in awhile for a deep clean. For big messes, I can’t depend on the Roomba to get everything to my liking. It will never fully replace my stick-vac, but it is a welcome addition to make life easier and more automatic. - Learning Curve: It took some getting used to with the wet to dry. It takes a few tries to get an understanding its navigation patterns and setting up cleaning schedules and mapping certain areas. - Size and Obstacles: There is always the task of picking up the area to ensure that the coast is clear for the vacuum. If not, it can get stuck in a sticky situation and need my help to reset itself. Although the size is shallow, it can’t fit under my couch, but it does get in most hard-to-reach areas. Limited Wet Mopping Control: I wish there was more control over the wetness of the mop. The Roomba Combo j5's mop doesn’t allow for adjusting water flow or customizing the wetness level for different flooring types. CONCLUSION: In my experience with the Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum and Mop, I've found it to be a game-changer in home cleaning. The seamless integration of vacuuming and mopping, coupled with its smart navigation system, has made my cleaning routine incredibly efficient. I appreciate the device's ability to adapt to different floor types and the convenience of controlling it through the user-friendly app. It's saved me a significant amount of time and effort. While I've enjoyed the versatility and advanced features, it's worth mentioning that there have been occasional navigation hiccups. Although it will never fully replace my stick vacuum or Swiffer mop, the Roomba is an integral part of my regular cleaning routine. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Roomba Combo j5 has become an indispensable part of my household cleaning arsenal, providing a thorough and convenient solution. If you're looking for a time-saving and efficient cleaning companion, this robot vacuum and mop combo is certainly worth considering.

After a week, I can't get it to connect.Clean the house

Best Buy sold open box as “excellent condition” - Roomba would not charge!

Retention clip on dust bin broke after second use due to poor design. Submitted claim with iRobot, want me to jump through hoops for a new dust bin. Not asking for anything crazy just a dust bin that doesn’t fall open.

Bought the I robot in April 2024. What a lemon I got, worked great for the first couple of months then I started receiving a lot of messaging errors. Changed filters etc nothing worked hopefully I win the 400.00 gift card so I can get another one that works because I have had good luck with these before but this one sucks

Worst experience EVER! I purchased my robot roughly 1 month ago and since last night I keep on getting 4 errors on the app: c610, c660, c510 and c210. I've tried EVERYTHING, from rebooting the robot, my modem, my phone, installing and uninstalling the app and nothing seems to work... Called customer service and they have no clue onto how to solve this issue. Im pretty frustrated, robot is expensive and had the impresion that an expensive robot equals exeptional function, I was so wrong

Works great if you're house is already clean otherwise no use

I've been using a previous version Roomba 630 for going on 8 years now and have generally been pleased with its capabilities, especially given how long it's been used. This Roomba j5 is a SIGNIFICANT improvement from that model. I would say the greatest change comes to the upgrades to the AI system/learning processing accompanied by the iRobot app. It goes through your home systematically to learn the layout, it uses cameras to use lights and windows to help navigate and map out your home, and it has LEDs to locate and avoid potential obstacles - after it does that the app gives you the option to go through various camera images to teach the vacuum what obstacles to avoid. The app also has settings for cleaning preferences for choosing the number of cleaning passes, how to behave when the receptacle is full, and what obstacles to avoid. It's a serious change from where iRobot started out and I love that you can choose how it behaves and learns. Another thing to note is that the Roomba learns over time and cleaning will actually get faster- you'll notice that areas like under dining tables or complicated areas, the machine will bounce around a LOT but after some time, it will learn and figure out a more efficient means to clean that area the next time around. The sound of the vacuum is also reasonably quiet for what it does (at least compared to the older models). The receptacle can be replaced with the mop head, which is generally, a little bit disappointing. The Roomba is clearly designed more for the vacuum component with the mop side being more of a secondary function. The replaceable mop is pretty thin and doesn't do a great job, honestly. After running through a small 600 sqft space, it sort of comes back sopping wet and is more of a hassle than it needs to be. I would not recommend this for the mopping function, specifically. As a vacuum, this machine is FANTASTIC, especially with all the available settings in the app. The mopping capabilities are disappointing and it should be used as a backup option should you be in a bind.

Stopped working after a week. Called iRobot to which they promised to send a replacement robot as soon as available. Almost 6 months since I bought this unit and haven't received a replacement unit. Nothing against Best Buy but beware of iRobot Customer Service

The old ones are better! Bought last August, cheap plastic near the rollers are broke… I would buy an old school version if I was you….

This was a waste of time and money. Kept getting an error message about the bin not being properly inserted. After an hour, I could not fix it. It was an open box buy though.

Getting stuck everywhere cleans one spot for 10 mins. Have to manually move it to a new spot. I just want to return it but cant cause ghe 14 day period ended 2 days ago.

The worst Vaccum Ever didn't even work for couple of days, Complained to iRobot Vaccum and BestBuy no one helped in resolving they said buy a new one.

the mop stopped working, and barely moves anywhere

It doesn’t work as good as it seems or advertised especially the mop and vacuum part

Not even a month and it’s broken. It says error 26. Already cleaned everything including the bin and change the filter, reset the vaccum but still it would not work. So disappointed.

The app blows. Sensors such and say full when nothin is in it. Mop mad is cheap. Thing is as dumb as a doorknob.

It’s not very smart I wouldn’t recommend, I’m going to take it back it gets confused often
