My first iRobot is wonderful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iRobot Roomba Combo j5 Robot Vacuum & Mop is the first time I have tried this type of vacuum and I am so glad I got to experience the difference it makes. In the past I had always looked for great rated vacuum cleaners that were dependable and easy to use. I viewed having to vacuum the whole house as a major chore instead of an easy automated process that a robot vacuum could do instead. When I received the iRobot Roomba J5 I was surprised at the size of the machine since I expected it to be smaller than a frisbee by the online photos I had viewed. In person when I unboxed it, I was impressed with the bigger size and the high-quality materials that were seen on the device. It only took a few minutes to do the initial setup for the J5 so that it could start charging and gave me time to download the iRobot Home App for my phone. I was then able to scan the QR code on the device and it walked me through the steps needed after it was activated. The unit I received did not come with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal so I had to install the drip tray under the charging station to catch any water as the machine would come and go to do any mopping runs. I liked the fact that the J5 combo came with a mopping bin and a regular vacuum bin so you could have more space for liquid on mopping chores and for debris on the vacuum only runs. The most time-consuming part of the setup process was taking the time out to allow the iRobot Roomba J5 to do mapping runs to be able to setup the areas you wanted to personalize for the vacuum to focus on for mopping, create no mopping zones, and even name the different zones in your home to your own liking. I later had more time and started creating some favorite programs which gave me the option to have the vacuum work on certain areas that had the most traffic and to leave other areas alone to save more time. I also liked the fact that I was able to use Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant for voice commands, and made the verbal shortcuts that worked best for my home. The best part of the whole experience of having Roomba J5 up and working was being shocked at how many times it filled up the bin with lint and debris. The whole home had been totally vacuumed with the prior upright vacuum a couple weeks prior and had no expectation of the new one finding so much debris. I then realized how powerful the suction was on the J5 and was very happy to have it cleaning all areas that I thought were still clean. The not as great part of the whole process was the mopping feature since it was able to disperse water or cleaning fluid, but it does not have the ability to remove tougher stains since it is just a microfiber pad that it on the unit and does not continue to run over a bad area until it is clean. I was hoping the app on my phone would alert me if it was low on fluid or if it encountered an area, it could not clean easily, but it is not that good yet. Overall, the J5 does a great job of keeping the floors in the house clean and I liked being able to schedule the cleaning that was convenient for me. Now that I have made the change to a robot vacuum there is no going back to traditional vacuums.

The little helper that does it all
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iRobot is your one stop shop little helper that is here to help tackle most task. While it excels at vacuuming carpet while leaving uniform lines it begs to ask the question how well does it perform while mopping hard surfaces? Out of the box you get everything you need to help get you set up. Set up is done through the free app and no additional paid services are needed. Through the app you can choose a name for your little robot and birth date as well. But on a serious note the app allows more functional services such as designating cleaning schedules or areas that are off limits. You can check the status of the unit to see if its waste container is full and or if the unit gets stuck or runs in to any problems it will send you a push notification letting you know that it is in distress. Speaking of the waste bin, the i5 has a upgraded bin allowing more waste to be captured which is a plus for those of us that own pets. The rollers appear to be tangle free and so far the need to have to cut out hair from the rollers has not been an issue. The iRobot does use some type of smart sense technology which when it detects deep embedded dirt, it will actually go over the said area working itself back and worth trying to release the debris. When first setting up the unit it will initially run around the room in a very erratic kind of way, but what it is doing is trying to map out your floor plan and figure out where all its obstacles lay. This is a very key feature and important to note that once you place the home base you need to make sure you do not move its location as it can cause issues with the way the robot cleans. Once the floor plan is mapped you can see through the app the floor plan that was created for you. Lines will become more uniform leaving a side by side vertical pattern. Now this unit does double up as a floor mop robot as well and while i have not been impressed by how well any of the other manufacturers out there have performed, this design is definitely a cut above the rest. The biggest issue i have run into with floor mop robots is the fact that most of the time all they do is make a bigger mess by simply spreading the dirt rather than actually cleaning it up. This unit has a separate attachment that you add on when it comes time to mop which includes a separate tank to add your cleaning solution. While Roomba does make dedicated robots specifically for mopping, this unit still does a adequate job and actually cleans up the floors rather than just push the dirt around. Is it the best cleaning solution out there? No, however it does a very good job and will definitely leave a noticeable difference which can be helpful for those that are pressed on time. The special woven cloth greatly assist in making sure that all dirt and debris is picked up from the cleaning solution. And should you run out and need to re-up some supplies, all supplies can be easily ordered through the app. This is a great unit to have for those pressed on time looking for a little added help. Out of all the self cleaning robots out there Roomba is truly one of the best if not the best.

Keep your floor clean.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first iRobot vacuum cleaner, and so far, I am satisfied. The charging port has a very sleek design, and it attaches to a floor protective tray. Setting up the device on your smartphone is quick and simple. When the machine does a complete cleaning routine, I get a notification on my device. The smart mapping did an excellent job drawing the area around my kitchen and nook. The mapping was over 95% accurate. With smart mapping, you can assign a custom room name to each room in your house. The kitchen area and the nook are next to each other with a diving wall, but with smart mapping, I was able to divide both areas into different sections for the iRobot. The performance of the vacuum is excellent; it can pick up many small particles from both hardwood and tile floors. The two green roller brushes and the cleaning system do a great job of picking up debris and placing it into the dust bin. It is very impressive how the robot covers the entire mapped room without missing a spot. For bigger areas, it may take longer to clean, but at least it is being done by the robot. During certain jobs, the battery needs to be recharged, but the great thing about the robot is that it doesn’t require you to do anything about it because it does it itself. The mop pad does a great job for small, not heavily stained areas. To clean the pad, you can wash it by hand or place it in your washing machine. For tougher stains, you will still need to use a regular mop, but at least you won’t have to mop the entire area. Once in a while, I mop the entire floor with a regular mop. The vacuum and mop combo design is great for everyday cleaning and maintaining your floor. The best part of owning a robot vacuum is that it can clean your floor when you’re not home. I have a small dog, so to avoid it barking at night and waking me up with the iRobot vacuum, I only have it clean when I am away. If you want to constantly keep your floor clean, an iRobot is the way to go.

The Next Cleaning Robot Evolution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roomba Combo j5 is the next evolution in robot vacuum technology. While it definitely looks and feels like a sidegrade or maybe even a step backwards aesthetically compared to the older i or s series vacuums, there’s a few key improvements on the j series that bring Roomba to the next level of home robot vacuum technology. First off, the biggest difference is that the j5 now has a combo vacuum and mop functionality. I bought the Braava jet m6 to pair with my s9+ a few years ago and honestly it was a huge disappointment. Not only did it do just an average job of “mopping”, it struggled mightily with thresholds. The Roomba j5 does a much better job of handling thresholds by placing the mop component on the back of the unit so the wheels pull it and raise up so the unit doesn’t get stuck on a threshold. There’s also a different combo tank that needs to be used for wet/dry functionality. Overall the mop function works pretty well, but it’s not as good as a dedicated floor mop that you push around obviously. Another major update is that the j5 no longer does the “random” pattern when it cleans, it more reliably cleans in an organized row and grid fashion which I know was a common complaint on previous Roombas. It still got things clean, but I guess people were just put-off by the unpredictability of the pattern in which older Roombas like my s9+ would clean. In that same vein, the j5 uses different technology for collision and object detection. It seems to be much more reliant on its camera, requiring lights to work properly, where older Roombas would just bump into stuff to map out a floor and then remember and go from there. It does seem to negotiate objects and furniture better, and also seems to use some kind of AI for image/collision recognition over time. The iRobot Home app has always been stellar and it’s been updated and still stands out as industry leading. I was able to detect and set-up my j5 quickly, although it failed 2x the default method it was able to use the 3rd “Let’s try another way” and quickly connected using my iPhone 15 Pro Max. After that, it asked to import my existing floor maps and I was off and running with at least a starting layout for the j5. As for the j5 itself, I do wish I got the cleaning/filling base so I don’t have to deal with cleaning the unit myself. I really love the self-emptying base on all the various vacuums I have that have it and also with my s9+. Also, the higher-end j units also have the ability to fully retract the mop head to get them out of the way to transition between hard surfaces and rugs/carpets, so that is something to consider. Lastly, like I mentioned, the unit doesn’t feel as premium as my s9+ but maybe because it’s only the mid-line j5. For someone who wants the best, consider getting the j9+ with emptying base. The cleaning features of these Roombas are great if you run them consistently and clean up big messes as they happen. They’re great if you have kids and pets and help keep your spaces tidy, as long as you maintain them and replace the parts out as needed.

incredible
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok first off my cat hates it. She loves hanging under the bed and when IRobot starts cleaning she glares at it and goes to the window. This is the second smart cleaning robot I’ve owned and it gives me an ability to do a fair evaluation. This iRobot is very fairly priced in my opinion as the other one was more expensive and had a few features that we never used (camera to follow cleaning). You won’t get any gimmicks with the i5 what it provides is EXTREMELY good strong cleaning! A great app that lets you decide how to use it how many times to loop the cleaning, once is enough for us, a very strong long lasting charge and my favorite… NO BAGS that you have to purchase every few months! So it won’t cost you more than the initial price! This little angel of a robot vacuum does such a great job and is so smart that even the cats water bowl doesn’t have to be moved, it learns so fast and you can almost see it “think”. Our other one was having trouble going up an uneven raised carpet to the other room but this one is strong and limber and has zero issues. Cats hate it (initially) but you will love it!

iRobot Roomba Combo i5
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the iRobot Roomba Combo i5 Robot Vacuum and Mop, has a modern and sleek design. The black and silver finish gives it a premium look. It’s compact, which means it won’t take up much space when not in use, it can easily glide under furniture, reaching those hard-to-clean spots. One of the features of the Roomba Combo i5 is its ability to switch between vacuum and mop modes. this means you don’t need two separate devices for your cleaning needs. The vacuum mode work very good on all floors, but the mop feature is great for light wet dusting the floors as it just slides across the floor with no pressure, so if you need any area for scrubbing this will not work. If you have hardwood floors, tiles, or carpets, the Roomba Combo i5 adapts to different floor types, ensuring optimal cleaning. The interchangeable bin system means that depending on whether you’re vacuuming or mopping, the device will use the appropriate bin. It also detects obstacles and navigates around them, ensuring no spot is left uncleaned. Overall, it is a good smart cleaning product depending on your needs.

iRobot Roomba Combo J5 is a great investment!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The IRobot works great! It was easy to assemble and the mapping was very simple. I had an issue with it not charging one day but I read the directions on the app on troubleshooting, and I was able to get it going again. It was a simple fix! It cleans well, sometimes it will leave stuff behind but for the most part it does good job. It does a good job mopping, I am pretty satisfied with that. I would definitely recommend it.

Best Vacuum Mop combo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The iRobot vacuum mop delivers solid cleaning performance with smart navigation and convenient app control. It efficiently handles dust and light spills on hard floors but struggles with heavy messes and edge cleaning. Battery life and scheduling features are strong, making it a reliable option for daily light maintenance and convenience.

Clean Floors, Zero Effort
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little robot has officially made me lazy… and I love it. It vacuums, it mops, and it actually does a good job! I set it on a schedule, and my floors stay clean without me lifting a finger. The mopping feature is surprisingly effective for everyday messes, and it handles pet hair like a champ. It’s quiet enough to run while I’m working, and the app makes it super easy to control. Worth every penny for the time it saves me.

Gets The Job Done- Would Recommend
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, pretty good robot: it has a solid run pattern and it is easy enough to use. It moves pretty quick, too. I wont deduct points because of the app, but it is finicky at setup if you have other robots in use. Just remember to get out of WiFi after you set up. Downside: the mop mat I feel leaks everywhere during setup and feels messy to set up. I did not overfill and it happens as soon as you fill it up. That being said... It mops pretty well. And i prefer this over paying $400 for an extra robot.

Time saver !
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the geolocation feature when i leave out. It'll clean the areas i specify upon me leaving. The target cleaning feature is also a plus. Mapping has definitely improved on the newer models and how often it runs into things has almost dissappeared. Great in between mopping is a great benefit to have with this model as well .

Roomba vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned this vacuum for 3 months now and so far I love it. It cleans very well, the only problem I have is that it hits the walls and everything really hard so now it’s got paint marks on it and pushes things hard.

One for two, Vacuum good/mop so so
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was really excited about the prospect of throwing away my trusty Swiffer and replacing it with a low effort iRobot Roomba Combo i5 Robot Vacuum and Mop. Unpacking this unit you do not really notice any visible differences between robot vacuum and others that provide an automated cleaning experience. Until you notice there is a place for a cleaning pad at the bottom of the rear of this unit. Also the slot for the dust bin which also fits a different type of bin that is used for the mopping function. Both bins are the same size, but one of the bins also has a tank built into it to hold water or a liquid cleaning solution (iRobot also has a cleaning solution that can be purchased, a sample would have been nice). Setup is fairly easy using the iRobot app after you have placed the unit on the charging stand. If you plan on using the mop function then installing the drip pan is a must. I found that the drip pan became separated from charging station and sometime slid on the floor if not secured (the drip pan should have some type of feet which are effective in keeping it in place and flat). In any case my home is mostly laminate floors, with a few area rugs and mats. The unit spent a few hours "mapping" my cleaning area which I later divided up into specific rooms for targeted cleaning. As for how the iRobot Roomba Combo i5 Robot Vacuum and Mop performs, for vacuuming, it does a good job picking up dirt and materials. The mopping function on the other hand seems a bit like a novelty feature, I didn't find it to be overly effective and mostly just spread any dirt around. Is that any different than a Swiffer? not really. Overall I was impressed with the unit and its ability to vacuum multiple surfaces, but I already had a Roomba to do this. If you want the additional mopping function then by all means get this unit, Roomba has proven that it builds reliable robot vacuums. Don't throw away the Swiffer (or better yet an old fashioned mop) just yet, the mopping feature really seemed more of a hassle then what it brought to the table (actually floor).

Very happy so far
|Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.[Employee of bestbuy] Seems like a great product so far. I have a small apartment(700 sq ft) and it can do 2 complete passes on one tank of water/cleaning fluid in the combo bin and has some fluid to spare. Mopping pad is dirty after each pass which means it's doing it's job. Be sure to empty the bin and clean the mop pad often and your place will be squeaky clean

Irobot mop/vac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The irobot is perfect if you wood or wood type flooring and regular length carpet. But, unfortunately, the largest area below is tile with grout. And while it does vacuum it, it just spins in circles on mop.

Great vacuum, not good mop
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vacuums wonderfully both on our plus carpet and porcelain tile. You have to clean the filter out every time you empty the bin, which can be twice in one day. This model is supposed to be, I believe, for a home that is maximum 1500 ft.² or 1550 ft.², but I just let it run and recharge on and off all day long, every other day for my 2135 ft.² home. I run it, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. It runs automatically for whatever you schedule it for using the app. Replacement filters and other parts are very expensive. So, I buy generic replacement parts elsewhere. Con: The mopping portion is useless. I suppose if someone had a very tiny apartment it would be OK if you rented every day.

||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My mother in law loves this vacuum so much she even named it Ruby lol. Rubys battery lasts a great time & hold a great amount of debris before having to empty her. She gets to all angles of the house without crashing, failing or being too loud. We can watch movies or work from home without an obnoxious noise. Ruby is super easy to assemble & easily controlled thru the touch of a smart phone screen. Were able to lay a diagram for her to clean without worry that she may not clean up any messes along the way
