Customers are saying

Customers regard the Roomba e5's cleaning performance, ease of use, and pet hair removal capabilities very positively. However, some users express concerns about its navigation system, noise level, and battery life. The small dustbin size is also a recurring point of feedback. While many appreciate its suction and dirt pickup, improvements in certain areas could enhance the overall user experience.

Had the unit for two weeks. Easy setup and control. without the map function the unit sometimes does one room several times and misses another. Using twice a week it gets all areas. Easy to empty bin, quiet and cleans well.

This is a lower-priced model of Roomba but it cleans really well and seems to navigate spaces on its own even though you can't actually map a room. We have pets and it picks up pet hair easily and is easy to empty. Every once in a while it will get confused about where the base is when trying to return to it but I don't see that as much of a problem.

The Roomba is an exceptional tool. It is very easy to operate and performs flawlessly picking up pet hair, dust and dirt and returning without supervision to its station. I recommend this product. Only downside is the limited storage bin for dirt.

The roomba does a nice job on carpet and other surfaces. We have a dog and a cat and it easily picks up pet hair. Easy to clean. Battery time is adequate for at least 2 large rooms.

This works great the first month or so then it becomes loud and it picks up less and less debris. It sometimes has a hard time finding home base.

So far this has been a great vacuum. Cleans rather well. It is noisy and doesn’t always find its way back to its dock. But overall it’s a good product.

Just like everyone else, I was iffy on whether to buy them or not. 300 dollars is a lot for a vacuum but I don’t sweep as often and with 2 large Labs running around their is fur everywhere. I had intentions of returning it but I was surprised that it actually works! I let it vacuum the house and after the job was done, I passed the swifter and it had minimum fur and dust. I will say that it goes in such random order that you think it missed spots, but does come back to it. And it kind of has problems of finding its way back home if it’s too far from the charging base. But I don’t mind just picking it up and placing it.

Mothers Day gift. Selected based on entry level price, reputation and reviews. Runs as described. We have watched and modify area to make unit run better. Move cords off ground, move furniture so roomba can enter areas, etc. runs 90 mins and returns to base. Small reservoir so we have to empty after each use. If we like this unit we will probably upgrade a purchase a unit for second floor where we have some bedrooms with carpets and dusty areas under beds. Send to clean area, though not efficient. Sort of like a pinball game bouncing off areas and going in different directions.

I got the Roomba for my mom. Pros- Suction and cleaning power are great, also it is super easy to clean the filter. We have it set to run every other day. It gets many hard to clean spots. Cons- It works really well, just sometimes it will randomly stop and turn off; all we need to do is press the center button and it continues cleaning. More often than not the Roomba doesn't make it back to its charging station. Lastly, It doesn't get every inch of the house like we would have hoped, it will go over the same area several times.

I've had this thing for over a month now and it's a little noisy and frustrating to watch navigate my apartment. It climbs up on lamp bases and even broke plastic pieces off of itself bumping into my toilet. It also misses spots! For these reasons, I leave it home alone to clean, but then I always get notifications of it getting stuck one way or another. Not really what I expected, but it does do a good job picking up pet hair which is the main reason I wanted it!

I mistakenly thought the e5 would map obstacles and store them for future use. It does not. It does a good job of cleaning, but will wander off if you don't buy the extra infrared blocking beacons which cost $50 each. For the additional cost, I'd have been better off to purchase the next higher version of Roomba, the i3. Although it costs at least $100 more, it learns from your cleaning habits and maps prior cleaning for future use.

The E5 roomba replaces our older series 400 units, with a HEPA filter. We manually vacuum varying zones around 1600 ft3 so the WiFi scheduling and auto docking not a feature of interest (besides that success of returning to the docking station a bit questionable anyway as seems to take multiple passes to line up correctly with charge prongs) but luv the handle! It is much quieter and supposed to be 5x more suction. Dirt pickup high on terrazzo floors. Not a fan of screwed in battery in newer models like this. We had been rotating spare charged batteries that easily pop in and out of the older model to enable covering more area. Happy with purchase. Note this package did not include the zone barrier units; just the vacuum with battery (almost fully charged when received), home docking station and power cord. Best Buy offered great value which included shipping (free). Shipping arrived in half the estimated time and logistics were noted to seamlessly and quickly transition from UPS to the USPS (almost only practical option on island where I live), and covered sending to my PO Box in the US Territory (off continent, US Virgin Islands). Was so impressed with this Best Buy interaction that I bought a little stock!

the Roomba e5 is pretty good at doing what it claims. It goes under the bed and most furniture, but does not have sufficient clearance to pass under our dressers, for example. Therefore, it is not able to clean entire rooms. It also gets confused sometimes and goes around in circles. It is easy to set up and use, and does pick up a ton of dirt, so every little bit helps. We are mostly satisfied, but wouldn't necessarily enthusiastically recommend it to friends.

If you have the time to just let this thing run, it's pretty nice to have. Does a great job on my hard floors. I have a small house so it tends to get stuck in an area for extended periods. It usually takes an hour of so to finally get the whole floor done and it does pick up almost everything. My only complaint is when you send it home. It can take a long time to find its way back.

Bought this guy to help us with keeping our new ranch style house with hardwood clean. Does a pretty awesome job in picking up dirt we didn’t know was there. The front wheel is of poor quality as every week we have to clean as it gets really squeaky. Is random in how it cleans but does the job. About every 4 days or so it will find more and more creative ways of getting stuck. For the price we are happy. Like that it integrates with Google Home so you can use 1 app to control it.

(The wife is writing this review.) This is my first Roomba and I’m definitely sold. “Hazel” is doing a good job. It was easy to download the app on my I-Pad. I especially looked for a Roomba that was recommended for hardwood flooring since this is where she will be used most. If I have any regrets, it’s that I didn’t spend a little more and get a Roomba that maps. Sometimes she just seems to go over the same areas for a long time.

This is not maneuverable via smartphone. Can not be programmed to run less than an entire battery drain. I have had to reacquaint it with my WiFi network on one occasion, already. Clean reasonably well, but a nice Oreck does somewhat better. Overall, I really like it since the Oreck lady (my spouse) goes missing in action. So does her spouse, too! Strongly recommend cleaning out the bin and cleaning the filter every run.

It seems to do a good job so far. The dustbin does get full pretty easy tho and be sure to clean the air filter pretty regularly. If you do not clean the air filter it won't suck up as well. But it finds it's way back to the base ok and doesn't get stuck much. Plant stands can give it a little trouble tho. I'd buy it again. Some say it is loud - I wouldn't say it's quiet but I've not had other units to compare.

I would give it five stars if not for the fact that it never wants to charge on its base. It seems incapable of finding its home and even when it does, it doesn’t align properly. The amount of times I’ve gone to use it only for it to have no battery makes it almost not bothering with. Did not have this issue with various Shark versions in the past.
