The second it touches a corner it just stops and tell me to clear the burshes. Every 5 minutes. Not worth the price for this problem.

This was the second of three robot vacuums I tried recently and I was not impressed by the performance or features of this vacuum, which I returned. After trying this and one other brand I purchased a Samsung which was more expensive but far surperior in every way.

The Roomba far exceeded my expectations

Preface: I have always been told and heard from Roomba owners that these robot vacuum is impressive...frankly I always laughed and said how good can a robot vacuum be. Well the answer is quite simple. Its fantastic. Unboxing Experience: The box is quite large which houses the Roomba, dock and cables/instructions. The box has information pertaining to the product. Setup: Extremely seamless. Download the iRobot app on your smartphone and follow the instructions. It took about 2 minutes to set it up and then naming the Roomba. Set up with Google Home is also easy and works well. Scheduling is also very easy and works extremely well. First Few Days of Use: The most important part of course...Mostly Pro with 1 or 2 cons. 1. The I3 managed to clean my downstairs seamlessly in about an hour. including going down a gap between rooms and back over them. It has large wheels that are pushed down when the Roomba is on a flat surface...when it goes over a big gap then the wheels will prop it up and move it over...works exceptionally well. 2. Before first use I had my downstairs professionally cleaned. I just wanted to see the Roomba in action and didn't think it would actually pick up dirt...I was wrong. It picked up dust mites and hair...it was impressive. 3. When the Roomba is starting to run out of battery it will return to its dock for a recharge. Once it is recharged it will actually go back to the last spot it cleaned and finish cleaning...it works very well and is great. 4. The trash bin is not large (understandably so). Irobot gives you the option to either have the I3 stop cleaning when the bin is full so you can empty it and it will keep cleaning.... or you can tell it to keep cleaning despite a full bin. 5....My only gripe. If the Roomba is cleaning and you want it to stop you can dock it. Unfortunately, this doesn't work so well. The Roomba often times will keep cleaning and have trouble getting docked as it gets lost. It could be because its not entirely mapped out my floor (4 days of multiday use). However, I tend to just let it complete its job and when does it docks home 100% of the time. Its probably just a bug that future firmware updates will fix. What I Love: The sensors take up the entire front of the I3 and it works really...really well! When it approaches an obstacle it will slow down (sometimes it will slow down and still bump into it) and then it will sense left and right and see the best way to keep cleaning. The I3 also gets exceptionally close to corners and walls for maximum cleaning. All in all this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

I wouldn’t recommend this Roomba. Wish I’d had taken it back. Dust/dirt is not collecting in plastic tray where intended. Instead piles up in opening outside the tray. My prior iRobot I had for years worked so much better & was less $$

the left wheel quit working 4 months after warranty expired. Along with the bumper constantly being stuck and frequent cleanings for hair clumps, this model has been more of a hassle than a convenience.

The software seems buggy. I now have to reboot it after every use. Otherwise, it runs for thirty seconds and returns to the base. I’ve done a hard reset and that didn’t fix it.

Connected robot vac that still needs some work

First lets start by saying I've owned a few different vacuum bots but never a irobot roomba so I was excited to get one. The first thing you do after unboxing and plugging in the docking station is setup the robot via the app. Using the app was pretty straight forward. I found it easy to connect the i3 to wifi and setup. I had it up and running in no time. Note I couldn't get it to connect to my 5Ghz wifi so had to use my older 2.4Ghz. Within the app you can create schedules, start a run, check battery, view run stats/maps, name robot, connect to assistant, and so on. One of the first things I noticed after running it on my hardwood floors was that it would make a horrible vibrating noise on and off. Other household members immediately took notice and complained about this as well. After I realized that it didn't do this on my area rugs or carpets I flipped the robot over and checked the brush cage. Its was closed and looked fine but it does move a bit. I added some tape to the back of the brush cage so it wouldn't vibrate as much and that completely fixed the issue. Seems like a design flaw of some sort. As for cleaning it does do a great job on both hardwood and carpet. It cleaned everything I threw at it food, dust, dirt, and so on. The spinning brush on the side helps clean the edges and corners of rooms. It has two main rubber brushes underneath and both are made of rubber which are easy to remove and clean. It does go under spots like tables and chairs my other vacs wouldn't dare and did get out ok with a little bumping. I noticed every once in a while it just pauses to think and then starts up again. It does go in neat straight lines where it can. If you have a lot of obstacles your results might vary but it does try and use straight lines most of the time. I have the the app set to one pass and the bot still went over the same spot multiple times, sometimes up to four times. Not sure if its just ignoring that setting or if it lost track of where it was? Typically it takes my other vacuum bots about 40 - 45 min to do the main floor of my house which is a few different rooms. This i3 takes 1 hour and 15 min to do the same room probably due to the multiple passes. My biggest issue with it is that I have a 2" drop in my kitchen. All of my other bots have never had a issue with this. The i3 fell off this edge consistently over and over even after I let it map with multiple runs. But on my stairs it worked just fine. So it seems this bot has issues with detecting small drops but not the larger ones. Note all of the drop sensors were clean. Below is a list of pros and cons based on my personal usage. Pros: Good suction Cleans well on all surfaces Has side brush Nice app Small charging base Battery life Supports automatic emptying base Supports google assistant and alexa Cons: No 5Ghz wifi support Brush cage rattles on hard surfaces Cant detect small drops Does multiple passes over same spot when told not too Takes longer to clean than competitors In all its a nice looking wifi connected robot that does indeed do a really good job of vacuuming. But until some of these issues are fixed its going to my basement which has no small drops and where I don't care how long it takes to complete a session. Hopefully irobot comes out with a firmware update that addresses some of its shortcomings.

A good robot when it worked but mine failed in less than six months. (Doesn't charge, doesn't respond, just blinks a white light indefinitely). Our household is just two adults and no pets, not rough on the vacuum. iRobot email support is useless (they seemed to just send boilerplate responses without reading my message) so definitely call the tech support line. They've dispatched a replacement, will update this review after using it for a while.

It sucks. Misses the dirt, literally swept the dirt to one area so it can grab it but misses the first & even when it grabs it, it doesn’t grab all & doesn’t come back to grab the rest even tho that’s the seating it’s on. Runs into a wall before it detects it’s a wall . I wish I could return.
