My favorite cleaning buddy!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great cleaning bot with a lot of smarts. Note the i7 will give you a scare the first few times you run it in your home. Not because there was a problem with how it cleans but how much it picks up. I was totally shocked when it returned home with a full bin error and I found the bin fully packed. The cleaning paths are detailed and thorough. The speed of the cleaning edge brush is not as fast as older models which helps to stop the bot from spreading the dust and materials around allowing it to clean more efficiently. The smart mapping is awesome in conjunction with smart assistants like Google. I can't tell you how many times I see a mess caused by the kiddos and quickly ask Google to "vacuum the living room" only to hear the little chime of my i7 as it comes to life. I love the scheduling ability of this vacuum as well and if you really want to use this feature to its fullest schedule it to clean the kids room in the morning as a roaming alarm clock ;). Draw backs if you have deep shag carpets this may not work for you and if I had to purchase this again I would just get it with the clean base ( I purchased the self empty base separately). However those areas can, with recent updates, create keep out zones in the app allowing the robot to avoid these areas. Maintenance for this bot is reasonable and most replacement parts can easily be found on Amazon for cheap.

Works for a family (adults, kids, pets)
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this has become a much appreciated and loved item in our home!! Initially, we just wanted it to spot clean the home to keep up with our foot traffic (adults, young child, long haired dog). That said, after seeing how much dirt it keeps coming up with, we have kept it on a schedule of vacuuming everyday. Every single day we fill up the bin full of fur and dirt and we are a pretty clean family! You can schedule times for it to run, label your rooms and do new jobs to any room, view the worst dirt spots on the app, etc! When we had family visiting and things were scattered everywhere, we turned the schedule off and severely missed it! It cannot vacuum the downstairs of our home on one charge (1800 sq ft approximately). It takes 2 charges, but since it returns to home on its own, I don’t have to do anything during that timeframe. My only complaint is the small bin size! However, with the vacuum being the size that it is, I don’t know how much it could be improved. Since we vacuum daily, we have to empty it daily. If you didn’t have a pet, this likely wouldn’t be as large of an issue. Overall, I have no large complaints! It vacuums in a methodical pattern, has pretty good suction, doesn’t miss much, always returns to its charging dock on its own, maps the home really well, has an app, and does the job!

!!!Worth every penny!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Money well spent! Highly recommend this machine. I've put it through it's paces and this thing is a champ. We have a German Shepherd, a cat and two kids, needless to say pet hair and dirt are a real problem in our home. This vacuum takes care of it all! I love being able to tell Alexa to start the vacuum in whatever room is needing cleaning. Also the fact that it can map the room and I can add No clean zones or areas that require its own special cleaning (think “clean in front of the couch the ”) is great. My only regret is not buying the base that can hold the dirt for several days. I will be buying one in the coming days.

Best Robot Vacuum I've Owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned the Dyson 360 Eye since its release day. It was great, minus the battery life being 25 minutes on max mode.Fast forward to this year and the Dyson had slowly began getting worse, with only 9 minutes of life on max mode. Dyson seems to have given up the vacuum as all mention of it from their website is gone and you can no longer purchase it. My order for a battery is still pending from early September. So I was off to look for a new robot vacuum. I purchased a Neato Connected after reading multiple reviews and my parent's and step brother talked gushingly about theirs. It happened to be the Deal of the Day, so for $380 I thought, why not? That thing was a hunk of junk. Always stuck, couldn't map itself and figure out where the dock was, and always messaging me for help while it's looking at the wall, free and clear. I returned it, and decided to purchase the Roomba. The Roomba i7 is worth every penny over what I paid for the Neato. The auto mapping feature works great. In fact, I set it in my bedroom without the dock and just pressed the button to start a clean, and it actually figured out what room it was in and the best way to clean it, and showed it on the mapped history as being my bedroom. The vacuum picks up a ton of dog hair(I have 3 siberian huskies). One time, I vacuumed using the Dyson V8, followed by using the corded Shark Rotator, then sent out the Roomba and it still picked up almost a full bin worth of stuff. As a reference, we vacuum twice a day(once using the Roomba during the day, and once using the Dyson or Shark before bed.) My only complaint is that the bin is pretty small compared to that of the Neato and Dyson. The Roomba is extremely quiet. You can let it run and still watch tv. I have never once received a notification that it's stuck and needs my help. If you're debating between high end robot vacuums, this is the one. I wouldn't buy anything else! I'm actually looking at purchasing another one for the upstairs in our new house. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the bin is pretty small.

Exceeds Expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In terms of clarifying my into statement, a lot depends on your expectations. This is not a Dyson upright vac with the super cyclonic suction. What it excels at is daily maintenance of your living area. At the present time, I have the unit running once per day on our main living area which is all hardwood flooring and tile - no carpet. Having two dogs who shed, this little unit has really proven itself to be handy. Again, from our experience, setting up a daily maintenance routine makes the unit more effective. It’s mapping software is pretty accurate and the unit is quite “smart” as it seems to learn quick, doesn’t fall downstairs or get stuck. Slick app and easy virtual access and control. The suction is very strong for a vacuum it’s size, but again it is not a full size upright vac which still has its role. We’ve noticed that the unit is very thorough and generally picks up all pet hair and dust. Nice to come home to a spotless house. Highly recommend that you preplan your space before initial setup and mapping. Clearly you live life in your space, but the unit is more effective when not encountering cords and other little clutter type items left about. Think about where it will go routinely and try to get clutter out of its way for maximum effect. For our dusty house with shedding dogs, I’d recommend that you pick up the clean base unit. The robot is smart enough to charge itself when need be, restart a paused cleaning program, and empty itself with the optional clean base. One more recommendation, let the unit map without vacuuming initially to extend your life on a charge and function more efficiently when it runs a cleaning program. The unit is faster and more efficient once it knows your space. We’ve found that it takes a little under two hours to clean a fairly complex thousand square feet of cleanable space. Our unit stops to charge once when about three quarters of the way through the cleaning cycle. In terms of cons, it would be nice if the battery life were a bit longer as we’ve got the one stop to recharge. At least the unit is smart enough to do this for itself. Additionally, the dust collection bin is relatively small. If you have a large area to clean, pets and pet hair as we do, I highly recommend that you splurge on the clean base unit so that the roomba takes itself to the dump bin and empties itself mid cycle as needed. From the somewhat obvious perspective, I wouldn’t expect the unit to do a clean up on a heavy duty mess like a whole box of cereal, liquids, or something of the like dumped on the floor. Again, if used as routine maintainence and upkeep of your floors, this unit will excel in that role.

Good vacuum for what it is.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first robot vacuum so I am coming here with no experience. I purchased this specific one for the mapping feature and the good reviews on pet hair clean up. When purchased in Oct 2018 there was a software issue that did not allow the mapping to work. I had to contact customer service which was excellent by the way, to find out it was to be repaired in Mid October. Once that was completed in late October the mapping started working fine and being able to clean a specific room is exactly why I wanted this model. Overall the cleaning of the unit is decent. You still need to outlaw out the regular upright but not often. The bad, battery life is horrible! The robot will clean carpet for about an hour and fifteen minutes, longer on hard floors. It will then need to charge. A full charge will take about two and a half hours. Therefore if trying to clean 1400 square feet it will take about 3 trips and 9 total hours to do. The bin is also small. This could be overcome with the self empty feature which I did not get. Bottom line is this is a good unit it does a decent job. You will need to manage your cleaning due to the battery which is just a hinderance not a negative. If you want to clean large areas without ever going to the unit get the self emptying feature. All in all I would recommend this to my friends and family.

Good little robot. 8.0/8.3 out of 10.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The quick and dirty. Works well enough for our 1700 sq ft. -Wi-Fi enabled -Label and Map rooms (digital barriers, keep out zones) -Set schedule or on demand cleaning -Cleans well on carpet and ok on floors (there is usually a little debris still left on floors) -It is noisy, but so is a regular vacuum -Does sometimes wander but eventually finds its way

Major improvements with I7!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With two toddlers and a teenager in our house run by "clean-freaks", vacuuming is a daily chore, We have the 2017 model of iRobot Roomba 690 and have been reasonably happy with it. But it does get stuck more than we'd like and the somewhat random method of tracking is very inefficient. That being said, we do have hard floors with throw rugs and basically the most difficult surface area we could use to challenge the Roomba, so we have to forgive it a bit. Still, the Roomba 690 really just became something to do a little touch-up between breaking out the Dyson, or used in smaller, closed spaces with even floor surfaces. So, we took a chance on the new Roomba I7. I rarely write reviews but I know how hard it is to figure out which robot might work and why to pay for what (since I was just doing it myself a month or so ago), so I decided to chime in. For us, our expectations were completely blown out of the water with I7! We'd hoped it might track better than the 690, and WOW it sure does. And getting stuck randomly...haven't seen that at all in about 3 weeks of daily use. The mapping features are simply outstanding now with Roomba I7! We ran the I7 only two times and it figured out the layout of our entire downstairs. Now, I just press Clean, select the room and off goes Roomba I7 to do the job. I don't have to close the room or put up the invisible barrier, just tell it to clean a certain room and it's done. And if I choose for the I7 to Clean All, it does the entire downstairs, each room at a time. It's a very large area, so the battery runs out prior to completion. But If the new I7 runs out of battery while doing a job, it goes back to charge and then starts again when the battery is full. So while there is a "stop" to charge, the entire job gets done with only one action by me. Roomba I7 gets under tables, between chairs and in spaces I never even dreamed could be reached without the Dyson. And unlike the 690, I can use the app to start the I7 anywhere I am and not have to be home to babysit it to get it going again every time it gets stuck (since it only gets stuck if it finds something like a towel on the floor or some obstacle that would jam any vacuum). The I7 is quieter than the 690 too, even with more suction. I believe it's said to have 10x the suction of the 690. I can't say exactly, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in the improved suction power of the I7. Take it from someone who took a chance on Roomba I7; this device actually does what it says it can do.

I good robot with good and bad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm happy with this iRobot. There are pluses and minuses from my older one: Pluses: Mapping - I's great to have mapping on this and be able to mark areas to avoid (like where I have power cables, etc); you can also select which comes to do in order Ability to have Bravva run behind it - We have the bravva and to schedule both at the same time is a plus Dog hair does not get caught in the rollers Minuses: Small bin - My old unit had a much larger bin; hover this unit can be purchased with the automatic bin. Too much IMO. Dog Hair - I have a thin run in my office and when the robot transitions from hardwood to my rug any dog hair its rollers is scrapped off at the rug edge and left there Less battery life - to do my first floor it takes the unit multiple trips to the charger to complete the job

pros and cons- louder than Deebot, small bin
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had an N79 deebot for about 3 years, $179. The deebot was random, quiet, and had a bin thrice the size of the I7. We got the I7 and M6 for 1000 sq foot of hardwood floors, 4 kids, 110 lb yellow lab. we do not use it on carpeted areas. Pros- it maps out the house, so it is thorough. Works very well. It should work with the m6 braava mop. Once they finish mapping the house out I hope that will improve. Should be able to pick rooms after the 5th time it sweeps, still smart mapping this would probably work on carpeted areas, no way was our deebot doing carpet Cons- the very small bin needs emptied every time, our deebot was about 3 times larger. We vacuum daily, it holds about a cup of debris. It is loud, you have to turn the tv up quite a bit. Its loud, and needs to be emptied each time, holds about a cup of debris. Very thourough. Works well on our 1000 feet of hardwood floors for dog hair and crumbs form the kids breakfast. It would probably do more that is just all we need it for. if someone had 1000 ft or less of hard floors they could probably do a cheaper version.

Glad we tried the iRobot again
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been really happy with this so far. We had an earlier roomba years ago and it was a lot of maintenance with a cat and dog. This is easy to clean the brushes when it tells you it needs it. Bin is easy to empty and clean when asked. Wished we had gotten the big bin for it to empty itself as this thing is picking up the dirt and hair! We will likely add it. Only thing is we do get the clumps of dog hair left after the vacuum goes thru an area where our Bernese mountain dog hangs out. I’m running after it to clean those up. I’m hoping that stops as we run it more often. Mapping and then marking the no fly zones has been great instead of buying virtual walls like we had to before. A little tricky setting up the rooms after the mapping because of our open floor plan.

Love it! Roomba, MY helper.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m so glad I got it! Goes around my 2/2 apartment and helps me clean up while I’m doing other chores or while I work remotely. Goes back and recharges by itself. I can see what areas it’s been on the app. At first, the training could take a couple of hours for the mapping to be accurate and completely cover all areas, but worth it. I specifically notice it picks up a lot of dirt and fuzzy material in the carpeted bedrooms. I shed more hair than my own hypoallergenic dog and Roomba picks all the loose strands around the house, especially where you can see them - on the tile floors. Priceless. I personally barely use the broom and pan anymore, but when I do broom the corners, I make a pile and leave it for Roomba to pick it up. And she does! Highly recommend.

Worth the upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were debating on the next model down that didn't have the floor plan mapping and able to vacuum specific rooms. It was totally worth the extra $100 to get this version in my opinion. It hasn't got stuck on much of anything (kids toy here in there, our fault!) in our home. It has gone up and over a carpet to wood floor transition very easily. The only downside is how small the trash/dust bin is. If you have an overly dirty floor (say, after a party or something), it may not finish in one fill and have to go "home" and wait for you. I'm not sure that's worth the extra $200 for the auto bin emptying system though. I'd buy another one of these for sure! It's only 4 stars because of the small dust bin, otherwise, it's probably like 4.75 stars for me.

Just Buy It
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re thinking about it, just go for it. You won’t be disappointed. The cleaning is superb, the app even better. You can set schedules for cleaning. After a few cleans (or running a training session), this will map your house, at which point you can go fine tune and rename each room. Then you can tell the vacuum to clean a certain room only if desired. Also it’s Alexa enabled. Get the self cleaning bin separately or bundled with the vacuum, and it’s mostly maintenance free for up to 60 days. Pair this with the Braava robot mop and you won’t have to think about your floors. I literally just watch this thing clean sometimes. It’s detailed. It’s accurate. It will give you those nice straight lines you love to see when you’ve vacuumed your room.

Works well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It got our place mapped after 4-5 passes so we can now do room by room. The debris container seems to fill fast and needs emptying after just a couple of rooms. The disposable filter is tiny, and quickly gets full of fine dust that is hard to remove. I don't know when (if ever) or how the vacuum will signal that the filter needs to be replaced. We'll wait and see. Because it's noisy, we generally turn it on when we leave to run errands, first moving chairs, floor "decorations," and power cords out of the way to permit more efficient and complete cleaning. All in all, the i7 seems to work well and do a decent job.

It works very well
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum works much better than my push vacuum (Dyson). It picks up dirt very well. It has gotten stuck only once - although to be fair, I try hard to remove any obstacles, cords, etc. It recharges itself fine when it has large rooms to vacuum. The only issue is that it's memory blocks at 2,500 sq feet. If you have a cleaning space larger than that, it will create an error. Otherwise, I am happy to know what it has vacuumed while mapping out the space. I am working around the memory error by ensuring it has a smaller space to vacuum. I didn't purchase the plus because I wasn't going to spend an extra $200 to not empty the vacuum myself.

Great. However, it could be better.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first Robot Vacuum and before I had the handheld one. This definitely is a time saver and all the trouble you have to go through with a handheld vacuum. The suction is good, but after running this twice with two pass setting, I was still able to pick some (Minimal) dirt with the handheld vacuum. We don't have any pets. The smart mapping function is a genius. It covers the whole area and never got stuck. The battery could be improved, but it is intelligent enough to resume vacuuming after its charged. Overall I like the product and think could be improved in certain areas. It is definitely not a replacement to your handheld vacuum but, a substitute.

Expensive, but like the features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research over the holidays on robot vacuums, and originally purchased the Roomba 980. What I didn't realize was that the maps on that robot aren't stored for the next time the robot cleans. Therefore, it is basically relearning the house every time it runs. With our 2000 sq ft, mainly carpeted floor, it would take almost 8 hours to complete a full cleaning as it had to re-charge several times during the process. That defeated the purpose of us not being around when the vacuum was running. The Roomba i7 remembers the map after the first few training runs or cleaning cycles. You can then use the app to actually identify different rooms in the house. Once this is done, you can have the robot only do the room you designate. We use Alexa and tell the robot to clean the kitchen, the family room, etc. A room takes between 15-45 minutes and can be done on one charge, so we just spread out the rooms over the week while we're away from the house. We didn't get the version that self-cleans its bin because it is even more expensive and then you have to add on the cost of buying the bags for the storage station.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old Rumba finally died after daily use for 7 years so we got this new one. It’s amazing! Does a remarkable job of vacuming the floor (we have two large dogs that shed a lot) and makes accurate maps of the area. We can set it to clean just one room, or both. Forgot to start it? No problem. With the app, I start it from the bowling alley and it’s done when we get home. Great product! I only gave it 4 stars because the optional piece for emptying the bin is outrageously priced at $299. Get that piece down to a reasonable price and I give it 5 stars!

Gotta Love This Thing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this I had the funny feeling that it wasn't going to be very good, but WOW, I love it! Toughest part is letting it map your house and then labeling the rooms. From that point, it's just crazy what this can do and how well it can do it. We have a puppy, large and it sure keeps up with the work. We have the Roomba that you have to clean out the container and we do it after each cleaning along with cleaning the filter as best as possible. I feel those two things will give you maximum efficiency. Yup, if you want to save yourself work and have good looking floors, this is the way to go. BTW, most of our house in hardwood flooring. It does carpeting pretty darn well also.
