Awesome creature, with a personality
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little Guy is oddly entertaining to watch which ironically defeats the purpose of having it! If I have time to watch it then I have time to get up and do it myself, but I don't care! Anyways this vacuum is everything I'd hoped it'd be. Its quiet and very thorough. and true to I robots claim it learns it's area and barely taps permanently placed items in your house after a couple of cycles. It does not crash into hardly anything and hasn't fallen down the stairs. I have all laminate floors so they get dirty quickly and it gets everything in one run and has no issues going over my various rugs and door mats. I feel blessed to have this fine piece of machinery in my home, just buy it already! you wont regret it.

Better than expected!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife wanted a robot vacuum but I was skeptical. We watched many video reviews on YouTube and read reviews other places. After much research we thought we would try the Roomba i7. It was entertaining to watch the i7 go on its way learning the layout of the house and the dog wanting to attack it and make sure it wasn't doing anything bad. Once you install the app on your phone, the app will update the i7. The i7 seems to run very well and picks up dirt and debris on many surfaces; we have tile in all three of our bathrooms, high cut pile carpeting in the bedrooms and wood flooring throughout the rest of the house with different thicknesses of rugs here and there. The i7 senses furniture bases and legs by lightly bumping and slowly approaching with sometimes a light touch; this model senses light (it does havea problem in very dark rooms) and objects in its way. You can tell it to vacuum the whole house or just parts of the house (after it has learned your home's layout) using the iRobot app on your phone. A small battery operated virtual barrier device is included in case you want the i7 to avoid the entrance to a room or a circled zone in a room somewhere. As the i7 is performing its duties, in our house, it will need to go back to its home base to charge. It will notify you via the app on your phone if it is charging or if the dust chamber and sensors need to be emptied or cleaned. You can schedule cleaning times on a calendar in the app or just tell it to start cleaning with the app. On the i7 you can touch the CLEAN button twice to make it start cleaning and touch the House/Home button to return home to its charging base. This device is great and we really haven't used our regular vacuum cleaner much at all except for cleaning furniture with crevice tool. The i7 is very convenient and it makes nice vacuum lines in the carpet.

Should have bought a "good one" the first time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To explain - I've had 3 different robot vacuums - well, technically 4 - before this Roomba. Started out with an Ecovacs Deebot N79. It was good - cleaned well - rambled all over the place, then failed after 7 months. Ecovacs replaced it. I used it for a while then there was a great deal on the updated version, the N79S. Gave the N79 to my daughter then IT failed. Good grief. No warranty support on that one. So I read the Consumer Reports reviews and purchased a Eufy 30C - a bit pricier, but the reviewers raved about it. Gave the N79S to my daughter. I have to tell you, the Eufy is a HUGE disappointment. Gets tangled in everything, doesn't make it back to the charger, doesn't pick up as much dirt as the Ecovacs. Now the other N79S has failed but Ecovacs is replacing it. So I gave the Eufy to my daughter for her second floor, and bit the bullet and bought this Roomba. I've only had it a day, but after 2 sessions I'm already blown away. It is systematic - you can see the grid and the fact that it's mapping - it picks up a lot of dirt - it has made it back to the charging station both times out, and it's not a "wandering search"...no, it makes a bee line straight to the charging station. Sure, it's pricier, but you get what you pay for. Only negative - it's NOISY compared to the Ecovacs and the Eufy, but I can live with the noise to not have to deal with the other frustrations. Do yourself a favor and skip the cheaper products...you'll end up buying this eventually and you can save money in the process.

Great Product!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a bit of a comparison review. I bought a Roomba 960 and a 675 for Christmas. Let me start by saying that I have hardwood floors with area rugs in most areas where the Roomas will clean. The 675 was for a 20x20 room that was separated by a step. I was going to have the 960 cover the rest of the first floor (about 750sq ft.). The 675 does a good job but it takes about an hour fifteen minutes to do that whole room and it wanders through it until it is about out of battery and then completes and docks. It did not get hung up on any of the area rugs. The 960 kept hitting the corners of the areas rugs and getting caught up and had to be freed. The main room is rectangular but it kept approaching it like it was shading a rectangle and that was primarily why it would catch the area rug corners. Very frustrating because it cleaned well. Took it back to BB and spoke with the manager about the issues and he talked me into the i7. Took that back home and set it up. The first thing you should do is have it do training runs until it learns your floor plan. This will let it be the most efficient when cleaning. Once that is done you can use the room dividers in the Smart Maps feature to separate your rooms and then choose which rooms to have it clean. That was most efficient for me because the one big limitation on the i7 is the waste bin is small and gets full fast. That's why they want the extra $200 for the i7+ with the clean base. You can mange with the small bin if it doesn't fill too fast for your cleaning needs. I have it clean about 450sq ft. of area rug and hardwood before it fills and it takes about 45 minutes to clean that space. The 960 would take about twice that long to clean that same space and I would have to watch it to make sure it did not get hung up. I now run the i7 on schedule in the early morning (while I'm in bed) to clean that space and manually run it for the other rooms. To summarize: Pros: -Smart navigation works well and makes for more efficient cleaning pattern and shorter cleaning times compared to other lower end Roomba's -Quieter than other Roomba's -Cleans well -Smart Maps can make for smaller targeted cleaning jobs -Four stars due to price. Five stars if you ignore the cost. Cons: -A bit pricey (but all top line robot vacuums are) especially if you add the clean base with i7+ -Waste bin is smallest in the Roomba line and can fill fast -Pricey add-on for the Clean Base if you wanted to overcome the small waste bin.

Great for New carpet and Hardwood
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are loving this i7 Roomba cleans great when we need it to. We have it on a weekly schedule to clean on Wednesdays and spot clean doorways on Saturdays. We didn't buy the options bay to clean the bag within the Roomba and we have it to stop when it full so it stops a lot for cleaning. But there are items and dusk inside to clean it is justified. There is an option to continue cleaning when the bin is full but we choose to stop it until cleaned so it does not drag around too much dust. This Roomba will stop charging if you have a larger home to recharge and then continue again when it is full enough to finish. Learning the home in two days and we run it once in a while just to keep it update with small stuff moving around within the house.

Worth the upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were debating on the next model down that didn't have the floor plan mapping and able to vacuum specific rooms. It was totally worth the extra $100 to get this version in my opinion. It hasn't got stuck on much of anything (kids toy here in there, our fault!) in our home. It has gone up and over a carpet to wood floor transition very easily. The only downside is how small the trash/dust bin is. If you have an overly dirty floor (say, after a party or something), it may not finish in one fill and have to go "home" and wait for you. I'm not sure that's worth the extra $200 for the auto bin emptying system though. I'd buy another one of these for sure! It's only 4 stars because of the small dust bin, otherwise, it's probably like 4.75 stars for me.

Finally found what I was looking for.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After trying 3 other (cheaper) models of robot vacuums, this one finally met my expectations. It did a great job of mapping our house. It works methodically and rarely needs my assistance. It recognizes objects around it much better than the others I've tried and generally doesn't hit or try to go over things it shouldn't. I like that I can identify no-go zones in the app to avoid areas where we have cords on the floor. It works great on the carpet as well as our hard floors, and hasn't had trouble with area or throw rugs. It's also nice that I can schedule jobs and control it away from home. If I could change anything, I'd make the bin bigger.

My little helper
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I talked about getting one of these for years and really thought we couldn’t justify the expense, they’re not cheap. We broke down and bought ourselves one for Christmas. Since Christmas morning “Pierre“ has been like a family member, sort of like a pet, but one that cleans up after himself… and us! All kidding aside, I’m glad we waited because we got a robot with laser guided smart mapping as opposed to the earlier models or the inferior brands that just run around and bump into things and never know where they have cleaned. This thing sets out on a mission after learning your house and will go just to the spots that you ask it to or schedule on a daily basis such as the hallway where there is more traffic. I had my doubts from the very beginning wondering if a very short round vacuum could have a motor inside that had power to pick it up dirt in the home when all these other expensive vacuums are huge. The answer is the Roomba picks up as good if not better than any vacuum I’ve ever owned, that’s not to mention that it does it automatically, totally hands free. You don’t even have to think about when you vacuum anymore, it just happens like magic. Sure you have to empty it more often obviously, but in our house we are finding that it goes three or four jobs before we have to empty it. Btw it won’t fall down stairs, that was another concern. With the downloaded smart phone app it tells you everything that it has a problem with such as getting stuck somewhere or needing to be emptied. Long story short; you will not be disappointed. We went out and bought the M6 Brava mop a week later, but that’s for another review, suffice it to say that “Leah” is also a family member now.

LOVE it! Stop hesitating, just buy it!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s like having a maid. LOL. We have 2 white haired dogs and dark wood floors throughout our main living areas, needless to say we must vacuum quite often. “Hazel” is my favorite appliance. She lasts a good amount of time before needing to recharge, but if she isn’t finished she just goes back to the charging dock and restarts where she left off when she is back to charged. She yells at me to empty her bin when needed, but only enough to let me know, not forever to make me annoyed. Picks up all the dirt, hair, stuff with no problem. Gets herself out of most spots so doesn’t get stuck often. She also does a great job getting over door jambs, cords, etc. great job on carpet also. We want to get a 2nd one for upstairs where it’s all carpet. Might splurge for the self emptying one up there so she can run on schedule and more often. Stop hesitating, just buy it!

Great Robot!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This robot is the best! It learned our house in two days and now cleans rooms based on the day I time I set. This thing never gets stuck, always finds its way back to it's base and cleans like a boss. If you are in the market for a robot I would suggest not looking any further. We had bought a cheaper deebot a couple years ago and I wish I would have just saved that money and bought the I7. The deebot while it did clean well in the spots that it went to, had no idea where it was so cleaned over the same spot a lot, often got stuck, and hardly ever made it back to home base to recharge. Trust me on this just stop looking at other cheaper robots and just get the Roomba I7. This thing rocks!

Great robot despite small issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparing to cheap robot, this one cleans way better, moves more efficiently, have better app and it’s rarely stuck somewhere. However, there are few issues: - brushes are able to pickup much bigger trash than trash bay is able to receive. The robot will stop in this case. Thus your need to remove small toys from the floor - There is no possibility to add a room in existing map. Make sure all your rooms are open and accessible during first few runs

Poor Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this little guy back in August of 2019, after absolutely loving our 860 and deciding it was time to invest in another roomba for another level of our house. The vacuum itself works pretty great! Didn't get stuck in weird spots like our 860 did on our main level, so we moved our 860 to an easier to vacuum (less furniture to get stuck on) location and made the i7 our main level vacuum. We have 1 dog and 4 cats, it kept up relatively well. However, in the same spots, everyday, no matter how often you cleaned the roomba brushrolls, it would leave little piles of fur. They were easy to pick up, nothing to complain about, and we continued to love the little guy. Fast forward to July of 2020. The robot was starting to fail to charge. Kept a charge of about 5% (which is not enough to start or run the robot), but would never charge above that. I did all the recommended cleaning of the base connection and robot connection, reset the vacuum, and then factory reset. Nothing. So I caved, and purchased a new battery from iRobot's website. Out $100, but cheaper than a new vacuum, and we still liked the little guy, so again, nothing to complain about. The battery was super easy to install, and our little buddy was back up and running with no issue besides dropping fur bombs in the exact same locations daily. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago (mid-October 2020). Similar issue starts occurring with the charge of the battery. This time around I'm adamant that I will not be putting another $100 into this guy. So I email iRobot. They get back pretty quick, tell me I need to remove the battery and reinstall. Ok, done. Still same problem. They say we need to talk, so I call. They say it may be the base. I admit to owning 3 roombas and ask if another base would work. They said my 860 base would be compatible (which I know works because my 860 still runs like a champ after more 3 years... and on the same battery!!). Attempt to charge the i7 that way, and no such luck. They then inform me that I have missed the manufacturer's warranty by a year and would need to pay $132 to send it in and have it repaired..... Which I assume means, they will replace it with another battery that will only last another 3 months. Soooo, I'm going to cheat on roomba and try another robot vacuum (likely shark, since we have historically loved shark). I'll keep our 860 around and happily continue to get my moneys worth on him, but it's definitely time to move on from the overpriced world of roomba. Would I recommend? the 860 for sure! the i7, not so much.

Excellent product, this rocks!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a pricey machine but you're paying for a quality product. We bought the m6 mop too and the combo rocks. These machines clean really well now and are so much better than older versions. The mapping software on this version is so good compared to the old one. My wife loves this machine more than me now.

Great for what it is
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really smart vacuuming and finding it's way around the room is really cool to watch. Does a good job vacuuming on all surfaces. Although smart, you still have to do quite a bit of leg work to get everything small off the floor so it has it's limitations.

Awesome room mapping
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so if you’re looking at a getting a Roomba, you should really start your looking at the 960, because that’s where the product line starts room mapping and does a more efficient job at vacuuming your place instead of just ping ponging all over the place. Plus it uses the app to show you where it covered. The 960 is great value for the dollar, however if you can swing the price for the new i7, I’d greatly recommend it. I had both. The room mapping on the i7 is more accurate and you can choose individual rooms to clean from the app instead of constantly having to do the entire place everytime you use it. I love it. I chose the one with out the eptying bin, cause it literally takes two second to empty the mechine.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is awesome. I love how it goes In straight lines Instead of ping ponging around like the older models. It has no problem finding its charging station either. I love setting the schedule so it runs at a certain time every day. It hurt paying this much but it's worth it. Definitely would recommend :)
