Major improvements with I7!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With two toddlers and a teenager in our house run by "clean-freaks", vacuuming is a daily chore, We have the 2017 model of iRobot Roomba 690 and have been reasonably happy with it. But it does get stuck more than we'd like and the somewhat random method of tracking is very inefficient. That being said, we do have hard floors with throw rugs and basically the most difficult surface area we could use to challenge the Roomba, so we have to forgive it a bit. Still, the Roomba 690 really just became something to do a little touch-up between breaking out the Dyson, or used in smaller, closed spaces with even floor surfaces. So, we took a chance on the new Roomba I7. I rarely write reviews but I know how hard it is to figure out which robot might work and why to pay for what (since I was just doing it myself a month or so ago), so I decided to chime in. For us, our expectations were completely blown out of the water with I7! We'd hoped it might track better than the 690, and WOW it sure does. And getting stuck randomly...haven't seen that at all in about 3 weeks of daily use. The mapping features are simply outstanding now with Roomba I7! We ran the I7 only two times and it figured out the layout of our entire downstairs. Now, I just press Clean, select the room and off goes Roomba I7 to do the job. I don't have to close the room or put up the invisible barrier, just tell it to clean a certain room and it's done. And if I choose for the I7 to Clean All, it does the entire downstairs, each room at a time. It's a very large area, so the battery runs out prior to completion. But If the new I7 runs out of battery while doing a job, it goes back to charge and then starts again when the battery is full. So while there is a "stop" to charge, the entire job gets done with only one action by me. Roomba I7 gets under tables, between chairs and in spaces I never even dreamed could be reached without the Dyson. And unlike the 690, I can use the app to start the I7 anywhere I am and not have to be home to babysit it to get it going again every time it gets stuck (since it only gets stuck if it finds something like a towel on the floor or some obstacle that would jam any vacuum). The I7 is quieter than the 690 too, even with more suction. I believe it's said to have 10x the suction of the 690. I can't say exactly, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in the improved suction power of the I7. Take it from someone who took a chance on Roomba I7; this device actually does what it says it can do.

pros and cons- louder than Deebot, small bin
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had an N79 deebot for about 3 years, $179. The deebot was random, quiet, and had a bin thrice the size of the I7. We got the I7 and M6 for 1000 sq foot of hardwood floors, 4 kids, 110 lb yellow lab. we do not use it on carpeted areas. Pros- it maps out the house, so it is thorough. Works very well. It should work with the m6 braava mop. Once they finish mapping the house out I hope that will improve. Should be able to pick rooms after the 5th time it sweeps, still smart mapping this would probably work on carpeted areas, no way was our deebot doing carpet Cons- the very small bin needs emptied every time, our deebot was about 3 times larger. We vacuum daily, it holds about a cup of debris. It is loud, you have to turn the tv up quite a bit. Its loud, and needs to be emptied each time, holds about a cup of debris. Very thourough. Works well on our 1000 feet of hardwood floors for dog hair and crumbs form the kids breakfast. It would probably do more that is just all we need it for. if someone had 1000 ft or less of hard floors they could probably do a cheaper version.

Exceeded my expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just to start off, I had a previous Roomba for 12 years and I personally think this brand has been doing things right from the beginning. I had replaced batteries, brushes, filters and everything else that the vacuum wore down with time, but kept on cleaning my house as scheduled for all this time doing a pretty good job. My house is about 2500 SqFt and both my wife and I work so nobody is really in the mood to clean house when we come home, one Roomba was good enough to keep it in check. Every so often we did find the previous model stuck somewhere due to the random pattern. Then we bought a dog and I decided to upgrade to the NEW version. Found it discounted at BestBuy and purchased the I7 model. The set up was a breeze; downloaded the app on Android device, follow the instructions displayed and in a matter of minutes it was up and running. The vacuum started running around on a straight line pattern an started to "scan" the floor plan of my house. First day ran 5 hrs and 18 minutes. Went in every corner and around each piece of furniture we have (a lot of them) and went back to recharge batteries at the charging station every time navigating between chairs, corners and walls like it knew exactly where it was. I emptied out the bin at each occurrence (which it was full) as the suction power of this vacuum is unbelievably strong (compare to my old one). My house has hardwood floors and tile mostly but are covered with area rugs. I have carpets in bedrooms and the amount of dirt that the vacuum pick up is somehow astonishing. The rubber brush system is very effective compared to the conventional one (which was always tangled up with hair and fine fabric on the old one). The height of my carpet is medium. The second day, the cleaning session was under 5 hours and I emptied out another 3 bins, every time the battery was almost depleted it went back recharge and resumed the job where it has left. So far I am very impressed with the technology and the performance of this vacuum. after the 2 runs my house floor plan is 50 percent completed but on the second run it has already tracked the cleaning patterns and showed it to me on my phone at the end of the cleaning session. The only thing that I have realized that I should have purchased with the vacuum was the cleaning station (that can only be attached to this particular model because of the bin configuration ). That would have saved me from emptying out the canister at each "recharge". Unfortunately the price of the combo was a little too steep and I pulled the trigger for just the vacuum. The good thing is that the Base station comes with the modified canister for the automatic disposal included in the package should I have the chance to purchase it later on. I will revise my review once I get one.

Met or exceeded expectations!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up. Vacuum only got hung up once while exploring the house. Does okay with rug fringes but will probably program it to avoid those areas. Was amazed at how much dirt it picked out of previously vacuumed carpeting. Great suction. Easy to empty but am considering buying the automatic emptier. Very satisfied with the quality and performance. Fascinating to watch it while it learned the floor-plan. Rated excellent on value based on sale price.

My first robot vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this model over the newer and older models based on its functions and pricing. The newer model doesn't seem to add much other than a automatic disposal system for a couple extra hundreds. Pros: - Easy to remove and clean garbage bin - Strong suction (for my plaster floors) - Easy maintenance (tons of hair tend to coil in it, easy to remove) - Decent app - Great mapping system, learns fast - Love the feature for it to clean only specific rooms - Works with Alexa Cons: - Easily scratched - Battery drains fast - Charges a bit slow - Does not clean well in corners In my experience, it has yet to get stuck anywhere. It only got stuck when it was turned on in an area far from its original charging station. The noise isn't too bad, sounds like your standard vacuum. Be aware that it has a small garbage bin, so for people with larger houses with pets I do recommend getting the automatic disposal system with this unit. Additionally, you will need to babysit it during its first initial runs. All in all, its worth its hefty price tag.

Good product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th Roomba. This one by far has more suction power than the others. The only reason I gave a 3 because it is also louder than the others and no way to adjust the sound or turn it off. Gave 3 also because it does not always detect when the battery is getting low so it can return to base for charging like other one did.

Love this Robot Vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this iRobot! The app was a little buggy when I first purchased but now the issues are resolved! Love the map it creates of my house and the ability to choose rooms. Very impressed with suction and how it does on picking up debris. The suction isn’t as strong as my Dyson stick vacuum but didn’t expect it to be either.

Great for apartments with pets
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is great if you have an apartment smaller than 1000sqft . The bin is really small and needs to be cleaned after vacuuming every room. If you have pets you might want to get this along with the self emptying dock . No complaints about the suction power, does some real deep vacuuming.

Another great vacuum by Roomba!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It does an excellent job. Has the newer ability to go back and forth in straight lines when in use, doesn't have the curved lines the older models do. Great suction power. Being used in the lower level of the home which has no rugs down, so pretty straight forward usage.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love Bob! (That's what we named him) The UI of the app is so user friendly, and the suction power is a great. I have really long hair and shed like a husky, but because of the rubber rollers, my hair does NOT get stuck and break the vacuum! (RIP to my previous vacuums) My hair does get wrapped around the little brush but it's easy to cut out, and doesn't affect the the little robot whatsoever. Trash bin only needs to be emptied 1x a week for us, and the battery power and smart charge is great.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great carpet and hardwood vacuum cleaner. I believe it vacuums better then my upright vacuum. The vaccum base is a great addition so you don't have to clean out the vacuum.

Pretty amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roomba is pretty cool. It learns your house and doesn’t miss a spot. The suction is great and picket up more then I can believe. If you have pets. You will have to empty on every use but well worth it.

Does wonderful job
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the 890 first and noted it didn’t pick up the fine sand that my dogs bring in on feet. Traded up for the i7 and it does super job! I am still reviewing the maintenance requirements. The double suction power was evident

I love my Mr. Roomba
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. He cleans well, even the edges, I give him a 9. I still have to dust the floor molding. I guess he can’t reach up that couple of inches. Since I am emptying the machine after each room, I get to see if he picked up an earring or something else important. I kind of like that. I seldom use my big vac anymore. I do pick up or remove items like all cords. Though he can go over them, it does take him a while to do so, the thicker the cord the longer it takes; also the raised heat vents & the kitchen chairs (I have 10 so I set them outside on the deck and on top of the table) I see it as similar to picking up before the maid comes. Yes it takes a few minutes but well worth my effort. It’s still new to me, have yet to experience mtc. Issues.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love it!! I had refused to buy a roomba because of the price. This is our 3rd robot vacuum, the 1st was a Debot and the 2nd is a shark. Both were good for their time but this has take everything to a new level. Its bigger than the other but the suction is better. The smart features are amazing, smart enough to actually map the house and can spend it to a specific spot. 2nd best features is virtual walls.

Amazing vacuum!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After wanting a Roomba for years I finally purchased one. This is an amazing vacuum! The suction power on this vacuum is impressive. I don't know where all the dust bunnies come from that the vacuum gets, but the suction power grabs even the dirt and dust bunnies I don't see. Plus the smart map in the app makes it easy to set the vacuum to go clean a particular room. This is the best vacuum I've ever owned. I'll never go without a Roomba again.

Excellent Robot Vacuum Cleaner
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this iRobot from past 4 years but it was a different version. 4 months ago I bought iRobot - Roomba® i7 Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum - Charcoal it’s awesome as my expectations. But to my surprise this time its vacuum suction power is further increased compared to previous. In my opinion it does way better cleaning than I could do manually. Lol. Go for it! You won’t regret

Great Product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mapping the house is a little tricky at first. Obstacles or battery drying out, impeding a full working session might prevent the mapping to get concluded. However Once it is done and you spend some time making the room divisions that makes sense than it is really good and worth it! Vacuum suction power is great!
