Like the i7 for its ability to vacuum throw rugs on top of wood floors. Does a nice job. Like all robotic vacuums had to spend some time de-cluttering power cords, hanging cords etc that could interfere with operation. Using it in an open concept space, need to spend time to understand how to define rooms to allow pinpoint jobs.

We a 2700 sq ft house with 4 dogs with dirt tracked in constantly. Over 3 years this is our 3rd one. It really helps alot to cut down on dirt and or grass that they tract in. We placed one in our bedroom, one in the living room and one in the laundry room by the doggie door. This makes my life alot better.

Out of the box, this works as advertised, but in the long run you will be disappointed. It needs constant cleaning of the battery contacts and sensors to keep it working well. Expect to also purchase a parts kit at $50 yearly to maintain good working condition. Unfortunately the battery contacts are not replaceable. They are made of cheap metal that wears quickly, this leads to dead batteries, and manual adjustments to keep it charging. Roomba uses a Lithium Ion battery, which typically loose only about 20% of their capacity in 3-5 years, that's why they're used in power tools and electric cars that need to last long. After just over one year I noticed a significant drop in charge capacity, my Roomba needed to recharge to finish cleaning my small home. Now it can only run about 15 minutes without needing to recharge. So factor in another $90 for a proprietary replacement battery every 1.5-2 years. The warranty is only one year, and I was quickly denied anything but free shipping on a new battery when I explained my problems to their support team. The product is designed to work well for just over the warranty period, then it will be come unreliable and expensive to maintain. For me the value for the amount spent is not worth it.

It really cleans the carpets and tile floors throughly.
