Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with the Roomba i7's cleaning performance, mapping capabilities, and ease of use, frequently praising its navigation and suction power. However, some users point to the small dustbin size and relatively short battery life as drawbacks. The vacuum's noise level and high price were also mentioned as potential areas for improvement.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I (my wife) was on the fence for a long time about getting a robot vacuum. She didn't think that it would do a good enough job compared to our regular vacuum. I finally convinced her to give it a shot because of Best Buy's 45 day return policy. Decided to go with the i7 because of the advanced camera and tracking over the cheaper models. Well, we are about 2 weeks in and she is sold! There is nothing better than coming home to clean floors! We have two small dogs, so we get quite a bit of hair in the carpet. This Roomba picks it up with no problem at all. We have very nice and think carpet too, doesn't have a problem with it at all. We have it programmed to run MWF to clear our downstairs while we are at work and we carry it up to the second floor on the weekends. Another reason to get the i7 is that it has the ability to save multiple floor plans. So when we bring it upstairs, it automatically knows where it is and where to clean. Price is kind of steep, but we think it is well worth it.

New Roomba i7
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased last night. Ran for the first time this morning. We have three dogs, one that sheds badly. I planned on sweeping prior to using the Roomba for the first time but decided to give it a real work out. There was A LOT of dog hair on the floor. Agador Spartacus took 1 hr and 13 minutes and needed to be emptied one time. It got under two buffets and behind our chairs. It did awesome! I hope it lasts a long time because I'm in love.

Great vacuum that's super smart!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I've owned a 980 for almost a year and its been great. I recently learned about the new i7+ so I had to try one out. The "empties itself" concept sounds really cool. But there's only one problem. There's a small HEPA filter inside the vacuum's dust bin that requires regular cleaning or it will get clogged pretty easily mainly due to its small size. So this means the end user still needs to remove the dust bin to service the HEPA filter. So for that I figure if I have to remove the dust bin on a regular basis then what's the big deal of emptying the dirt from the dust bin itself? That being that, I decided to return the i7+ for the regular i7 that's the same vacuum but minus the emptying bin. That saved me $250 which made me even happier. I love the Smart Mapping feature of the I7 series vacuums which that alone makes it a very nice upgrade over the 980.

Love my roomba but wish battery lasted longer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my i7 for almost a week! I LOVE it! My family has teased me for “babysitting” it. You do have to watch it while it maps (or at least I did!). My house is about 1700 square feet on the main floor with a full basement. I have been running it in automatic cycle and it will have to charge 2 times to get all the way through my house. We have hardwood, tile, and Berber carpet. She does struggle a little on the carpet but it does amazing on the rest!!! I highly recommend it!!! Just wish the battery would last longer. I have tried placing it in 3 different places in my house and we are struggling to find a perfect “home base” due to our life and rugs. My husband and I both have been amazed at how much dust it pulls off our floors! The suction is great! I did have to take it apart this weekend and clean the long blonde hair off the wheels. 3 long haired girls drop alot of hair! We DO NOT have indoor pets so I can’t answer those questions! The app is super easy to use! I don’t quite have my map set right yet but I will eventually!

Wasn't our first choice, but it's been the best 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To be honest we couldn't see spending the money on the Roomba so we proceeded to go through 4 Neato's in a 2 year span. And all 4 Neato's died on us. I did get the extra coverage from Best Buy so it wasn't to big of a deal. Now the 4th Neato I thought I would call Neato and it took 5 attempts of calling and emailing to get ahold of them. So. let's move on.. as you can see We got the i7 now and I can tell you it's worth it. The design is so much better and the dirt bin is way better designed than the Neato. Also, I don't understand what the complaint is about the sound/noise... it's quieter than an upright and 50% quieter than the Neatos that we had. The Roomba stays on the network.. not like the Neato. So I guess you get what you pay for and the extra money spent I can tell you that I am really happy with this Roomba... whish I purchased it to begin with. I am currently giving it 4 because we haven't had it for a long period of time yet, but so far it's off to a much better start.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!! THE worst $599.99 I have ever spent, maybe even the worst product I have ever bought. Figures, a month after I but the i-7 it goes on sale... Lets see... where do I begin? I had the piece of crap for 16 days and Best Buy would not take it back. Are you kidding me? Not even store credit for a lousy machine that cost me $599.99?! Please see below to the reasons you should NOT purchase this item. 1) SUPER FREAKING NOISY (Since BB has LOUSY customer service, I sent a video to Roomba and they are sending me a replacement for parts. Sweet! More work. 2) Takes hours to clean your floors; literally hours. 3) Doesnt pick up dirt and/or minimal garbage. Sweeps mostly everything into a corner or spits it back out. 4) Roomba system is super temperamental. One minute it is fully charged, two seconds later it is telling you to empty the bin (already emptied) and then the battery, red light is flashing letting you know it needs to be charged, when it was charging the whole time. Anyone else go cross eyed reading this? Yeah, me too. I could go on about the app but I am just getting mad all over again. I am so sick of these companies bending us over! Terrible customer service. “Oh sorry.....” I will never buy from Best Buy again.

Piece of Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned the Roomba 17 for less than 1 year. The iconic service code 26 popped up and recommended to change parts that cost over $150. This is clearly an over priced toy with small crappy motors that last for a short duration before failing. I highly recommend to stay from iRobot and not purchase this item. Company will try to make good by offering a coupon to buy another one of their products. Not interested!

Nightmare!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband purchased this product for me for Mother's Day to help lessen my workload around the house. The battery wouldn't stay charged. It constantly needed assistance with the brushes, or getting stuck. Before my husband purchased, I cleaned the floors in the am/pm daily. My floors aren't typically dirty so it was super frustrating that it required so much attention. I didn't understand why it was always needing attention with the brushes. More than half of the time there wasn't anything on the brushes. It would say we needed to clean the bin but nothing would be in the bin. At one point, it said that we needed to contact the company to fix the issues. I'm not sure if we were sold a lemon or if this is typical for this product. After 10 days, we returned to the store. I would never purchase this product, again. Way too expensive for it to be so inconsistent and constantly needing fixed.

much better!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had robot vacuums for 3 1/2 yrs. Had 2 Neato were good I thought. Second 1 finally just wasn't working right luckly for my replacement insurance I got the Samsung had it a day very uninpressed. Kept bumping into things. So returned it and got the iRobot. It is wonderful not as loud. Don't have to turn up TV. Has a plan to clean. Now I no longer have dust devils I have to get rid of. But just like my Neatos does require thorough cleaning afer use.It gets lots of hair that wraps around brushes and sweeper. I'm very happy with it

Software way too buggy.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for over a year. When it works, it is pretty sweet. However, they constantly change the s/w of the unit and/or base without testing. It loses its navigation often. When asked to clean the family room, it will be cleaning the bedroom at the other end of the house, yet the app says it is cleaning the family room?? This is sporadic. Other times, it cleans the room asked. Setting up a "schedule" is useless. One day it will execute correctly, next day is is cleaning a room not specified. If I clean one room at a time, it seems to work better. Now, the robot occasionally backs off the dock for NO reason. Slowly backs up, then just stops. It sits there until the battery is dead. Only way to stop this is put it on the dock and reboot... AGAIN. Mind it it finished the job, said it finished the job and was charging? This was HOURS later?? Why?? Speaking of battery.... Almost daily (some times multiple times during the day), I need to clean off the contacts on the bottom of the unit and on the base. THEN.. I need to reboot the base and/or unit. One day, when roomba was sent to clean, it backed off the dock and spun in circles until the battery died. When I first bought this, it worked really worked pretty well. I attribute poor performance to software issues and poor quality control testing. Support is useless. I called when the unit was spinning in circles. Described the problem. However, "spinning in circles" didn't seem to describe the issue. I had to take a video of the robot spinning in a circle before they would advance the ticket. The following day, I was told a software update would be released the following week to fix the issues. There has to be a better option out there.

I7 robo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.1st thing you need to do is let the I7 do the map with out cleaning. It will do the whole house on one charge. Then do you maps and name them. Been working fine since then.

Got stuck and would lose connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Vacuum worked great for a couple of months. It would run in a pattern and leave lines. Then it would get stuck all the time although when clearing it's obstacle, I would find it wasn't stuck on anything. It was causing me more time to go rescue it versus doing the vacuuming myself. Returned.

Big disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had this vacuum for 2 years. At first all 3 of our family members could run the robot from our phones. After software updates only 1 family member could operate the Roomba. The cleaning ability on mixed surfaces (area rugs over hardwood floors) is terrible. It leaves fuzz balls everywhere. The noise from the Roomba is also pretty loud and since it takes about 3 times the amount of time as someone who would be vacuuming manually, it it very annoying. I would not recommend this product.

Cliff sensor failure wiped out $1K purchase of i7.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed. Purchased i7 in May 2019 with docking station for a little under $1K. No extended service plan, Used to help clean up pet fur. Until a couple of weeks ago, it worked fine. We started getting error messages that robot fell off an edge and to place in a new location to restart. New location is now trash can unless we fork over $250+ for a "service' robot.
