Customers are satisfied with the Roomba i7's cleaning performance, mapping capabilities, and ease of use, frequently praising its navigation and suction power. However, some users point to the small dustbin size and relatively short battery life as drawbacks. The vacuum's noise level and high price were also mentioned as potential areas for improvement.

Terrible build quality and dumbest robot vacuum ar
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- had to return the first one as the bin was defective and was missing a seal around its moth so all the dust would spill out and under the robot instead of going into the bin. The room a thought it had filled the bin after just five mins of vacuuming every time. - one of the two motors failed after 3 weeks and it couldn’t move without constantly turning - keeps getting confused about what floor it’s on and will not follow instructions on what rooms to clean - noisy !! - mobile app is terrible, needs to be restarted each time you want to use it - drains battery if not plugged into charge constantly.

Worst Robo Vaccum. Much better alternatives.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worst Robo Vaccum. it keeps butting its head on walls and chairs. somehow figured out a way to steer away from dirt. keep strangling itself in wires. low battery life - runs for 20 minutes or less. very loud. called customer service 5 times...hold times on average 15-20 minutes. they kept diagnosing and telling to do different things but no improvement in performance. Ultimately thanks to Best Buy (rate experience dealing with Best Buy as 5 stars) - they gave me a store credit. Since then I have tried two other Robo Vacuum - Uoni and Eufy. Better than Roomba in all respects (slim, low noise, battery life, smartly identifies obstacles etc.) at 1/3 or 1/2 the price. This company has too old of a technology stack and stuck in its past. Do not waste your money and time, buy alternatives which are much better and cheaper.

Lost in Space
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After the 1st few months, flawless. Then it began to become lost. Couldn't find its way off the base and if it did, it had no idea where to go. Out of warranty, I sent it in to there service center only to have it returned after paying over $100 stating there was nothing wrong with it. When I did get it back it would actually undock without errors but now back to its same old ways. Never completes a job, stuck in Keep Out areas, can't find its way to a room to begin job etc. Forgets schedule. JUNK! I have mapped my home multiple times and that helps, but it take 3 to 4 days for it to complete a new map. Then back to the old ways. My old Roomba in the basement works great without mapping and same old battery going on 5 years old. I think its a 600. I would never buy the mapping i7 again extremely disappointed and frustrated. Purchased in January 2020 for $800.

Not worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box, this works as advertised, but in the long run you will be disappointed. It needs constant cleaning of the battery contacts and sensors to keep it working well. Expect to also purchase a parts kit at $50 yearly to maintain good working condition. Unfortunately the battery contacts are not replaceable. They are made of cheap metal that wears quickly, this leads to dead batteries, and manual adjustments to keep it charging. Roomba uses a Lithium Ion battery, which typically loose only about 20% of their capacity in 3-5 years, that's why they're used in power tools and electric cars that need to last long. After just over one year I noticed a significant drop in charge capacity, my Roomba needed to recharge to finish cleaning my small home. Now it can only run about 15 minutes without needing to recharge. So factor in another $90 for a proprietary replacement battery every 1.5-2 years. The warranty is only one year, and I was quickly denied anything but free shipping on a new battery when I explained my problems to their support team. The product is designed to work well for just over the warranty period, then it will be come unreliable and expensive to maintain. For me the value for the amount spent is not worth it.

WORKED LESS THAN 18 MONTHS! BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MAKE SURE YOU PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY! Purchased 4/26/2020 the start of Covid. As of today 11/28/21, I have an i7 iRobot that will not work. A couple of months ago started having problems with Rosie my i7. Job time for a robot that is only 18 months old has only 127 hrs. and 48 mins. this only amounts to 7.08 hours used a month. I don't use it as much as I should. I have trouble shooted in the past with CS and was able to get the robot working again. I have rehomed the robot 3 times as suggested by the app. I have cleared the maps, reset to factory settings, and keep getting an Error 42. I waited for 1 hr. and 6 mins for iRobot Customer Service which was no help whatsoever! Everything they asked me to do I had already done. So, their solution is for me to mail it in for repairs. Which is fine, but I don't feel I should have to put another penny into something that is used less than 7 hours a month and 0.23 minutes a day! SO LESSON LEARNED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY!! Hopefully, someone else will learn from my mistake! Rant Over! DO NOT BUY! Nothing is built to last anymore!

Not good enough
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not happy with this product. It takes ages for it to find its base even in a small room. Even after mapping the whole apartment numerous times, it still crashes into objects violently. Its navigation system is not good enough, it struggles to find its way in the apartment. The only nice thing is that its suction power is above average (when it can navigate properly). I would not recommend this to any other person considering the high price tag.

Such a disappointment.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Biggest waste of money yet, this is my second roomba in two years. The first one lasted six months and was a lesser version. They were both great when working but troubled with docking issues. This one lasted less than a month, it works for twenty minutes and then stops and spits out random codes. This is the last iRobot brand vaccum I will ever buy. The mapping features are neat but you’d be better off to buy 8 knock offs on eBay or Amazon then waste your money on an iRobot Roomba.

Shocked at how bad this device is
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At this price point and with overall positive reviews, I really had my hopes up. Boy was I disappointed. I've owned this device for 3 weeks and I have it packed up and ready to be returned tomorrow after having spent more time on the phone with iRobot's customer service than actually working the vacuum. It's been nothing but problems. Whether its getting stuck on the area rug every time it tries to clean it, to bugs that make the iRobot app crash whenever you attempt to remove a room divider, to charging issues that require constant polishing of the contacts just so the device will charge itself, to wifi connectivity issues, to random bugs like the device rolling off the charigng port as soon as it has enough battery to do so only to run out of battery 2 feet later, to debris being randomly released from the bin, to constant "bin full" errors that make it simply impossible to use. And all this is after only 3 weeks of ownership (!!!). I've gone through factory resets, physical wiping, and even vacuuming my Roomba with my actual vacuum (nothing tells you how terrible your brand new $500 vacuum is like finding yourself vacuuming dust out of it cause it keeps thinking its full. Anyway.... will be returning this nightmare today along with its Braava sibling. I thought these devices were supposed to make your life easier, but instead just keeping them running is a full time job. And I have to say, the various people I spoke with at iRobot didn't seem that surprised at the amount of issues. They refused to admit it's a lemon, which brought me to the conclusion that it isn't one - it's just that all their devices are crap.

Firmware update bricked device support sucks
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When 1st purchased everything worked great. Had it for a month and showed I had an update so updated the device. Directly after it completely made the device unusable. I contacted support spoke with them went through their whole trouble shooting steps allowed them control to watch a video through my phone of what it was doing. Supports response was you are one of the many that’s device had a problem with the firmware and unfortunately their is nothing that can be done until a new firmware is out. I asked well how long is that gonna take cause as of now I have a 540.00 paper weight that I could only use for 1 month. She said they were working really hard to fix the problem. 2 months later still no fix and a waste of 500.00 + dollars. My suggestion is stay away.

Not worth the expensive price tag
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only stays charged long enough to complete one rooms which in insufficient for our 2 story, 6 bedroom house. 75 minutes run time is not enough. Vacuums up most things but does leave many pieces behind. This product would be better worth the money if the braava jet mop came with it it was built in versus sold separately. So far, not worth the price.

Disaster!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this very expensive device hoping it would make vacuuming something I could forget about, but in fact all this device did was damage my carpet and get stuck between the chairs in my dining room, effectively stopping the vacuuming process. It’s when I realized it would've just taken me minutes to vacuum certain areas of my home that I knew this $800 device was not the answer to my vacuuming woes. I have returned it and feel happy that I did. BTW I did open a damage claim with iRobot for my carpet damage but no one has bothered to call me back from that company even after promising they would.

Terrible Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it’s with, I’ve never reviewed a product before. I’m making an exception here. I bought this $600+ gift for my wife’s birthday. I was asked to order in advance because of COVID, so ordered for delivery on 1/19, even though her birthday was 2/4. We set it up on 2/6, after she got it and it promptly destroyed two of our rugs. When I went to return to Best Buy on 2/11, they informed me that I was stuck with the product because I missed my 15 day window (after 6 phone calls and 3 hrs on hold). I don’t recommend this product but more than that, I DON’T RECOMMEND BEST BUY!! I will never shop here again.

Terrible Roomba! Definitely not worth the money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a Roomba so bad! I had high expectations for this because of the price! I assured my husband it would be better than the Shark floor cleaner we had for cleaning up my golden retriever's magical hair fibers. But after giving it a try for a month, too long to return it to the store for a refund I found out, I'm not impressed. It usually doesn't clean my 1200 square foot main floor, without having to stop. It says it empty it and when I empty it the receptical isn't even full. Then I find little tufts of dog fur all over. Almost like it vacuum it up, twists the fur into a knot, and spits it back out. HOW DO I GET MY MONEY BACK?!?!

Not worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't my first Roomba, but I'm really considering it being my last. When spending over $700 for a vacuum it should be able to do what it is advertised to do. This vacuum constantly clogs so it never runs it schedule because it says "empty the bin" even though the bin doesn't have anything in it. It clogs before making it to the bin. The rubber brushes are also an issue. Mine didn't even make it 3 months and one of the brushes wore in half. It also leaves chunks of debris when transferring from my hardwoods to rugs. Not a good investment.

DO NOT waste your money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Returned 3 days after purchase. Heaven forbid you have pets. It will clog up after about an hour, go home, empty half of it into the base of the machine, and then go back out, and get clogged in another 15 minutes. Even the self cleaning version doesn't fix this issue. We only had it clean about 700 sq feet each time, and it could NOT get it together. For reference, we have stained concrete floors, which should have been relatively easy to keep clean for as much as this thing costs.
