Overall, this has become a much appreciated and loved item in our home!! Initially, we just wanted it to spot clean the home to keep up with our foot traffic (adults, young child, long haired dog). That said, after seeing how much dirt it keeps coming up with, we have kept it on a schedule of vacuuming everyday. Every single day we fill up the bin full of fur and dirt and we are a pretty clean family! You can schedule times for it to run, label your rooms and do new jobs to any room, view the worst dirt spots on the app, etc! When we had family visiting and things were scattered everywhere, we turned the schedule off and severely missed it! It cannot vacuum the downstairs of our home on one charge (1800 sq ft approximately). It takes 2 charges, but since it returns to home on its own, I don’t have to do anything during that timeframe. My only complaint is the small bin size! However, with the vacuum being the size that it is, I don’t know how much it could be improved. Since we vacuum daily, we have to empty it daily. If you didn’t have a pet, this likely wouldn’t be as large of an issue. Overall, I have no large complaints! It vacuums in a methodical pattern, has pretty good suction, doesn’t miss much, always returns to its charging dock on its own, maps the home really well, has an app, and does the job!

Money well spent! Highly recommend this machine. I've put it through it's paces and this thing is a champ. We have a German Shepherd, a cat and two kids, needless to say pet hair and dirt are a real problem in our home. This vacuum takes care of it all! I love being able to tell Alexa to start the vacuum in whatever room is needing cleaning. Also the fact that it can map the room and I can add No clean zones or areas that require its own special cleaning (think “clean in front of the couch the ”) is great. My only regret is not buying the base that can hold the dirt for several days. I will be buying one in the coming days.

This little Guy is oddly entertaining to watch which ironically defeats the purpose of having it! If I have time to watch it then I have time to get up and do it myself, but I don't care! Anyways this vacuum is everything I'd hoped it'd be. Its quiet and very thorough. and true to I robots claim it learns it's area and barely taps permanently placed items in your house after a couple of cycles. It does not crash into hardly anything and hasn't fallen down the stairs. I have all laminate floors so they get dirty quickly and it gets everything in one run and has no issues going over my various rugs and door mats. I feel blessed to have this fine piece of machinery in my home, just buy it already! you wont regret it.

I love the i7 Roomba. This is my second i7.......it’s easy to operate, even for an older woman! I bought the first i7 two years ago. I have both Roomba’s set up on my iPhone and I can vacuum the sunken den and upper floor at the same time, from anywhere! The Roomba’s really help me keep my floors clean. I have a blonde lab who sheds a lot........and it’s amazing how much dog hair and dander it picks up. It also vacuums under beds and sofas. I clean the rubber brushes when they get dirty and replace the filter and edge sweeping brushes as needed. My two i7 Roomba’s really make my life a lot easier!

I have programs it to run every morning before my family awakes and like clockwork I come downstairs to see new patterns every morning. This is my third robot, and it’s the best so far. It can be programmed to run certain rooms, or just do the whole house. This is the first iRobot that is making row by row passes unlike the wifi Sams club special that is connected to the web and bumps all over the place like the first generation models. I don’t know about anyone else but chaos is unnerving while there is a newly recognizable pattern (I mow my yard the same way lol) that makes my day a little more sane as my wife has 2 cats and 1 dog supported by our two 5 year old twin boys. #lildukes I did notice that it will not clean if the bin is full or almost full, so I have to ask the wife to empty it, yet the program will tell you to empty the bin as well. I didn’t get the tower yet, I’ve been told it’s not worth it, but maybe for Christmas!

    Exceeds Expectations

In terms of clarifying my into statement, a lot depends on your expectations. This is not a Dyson upright vac with the super cyclonic suction. What it excels at is daily maintenance of your living area. At the present time, I have the unit running once per day on our main living area which is all hardwood flooring and tile - no carpet. Having two dogs who shed, this little unit has really proven itself to be handy. Again, from our experience, setting up a daily maintenance routine makes the unit more effective. It’s mapping software is pretty accurate and the unit is quite “smart” as it seems to learn quick, doesn’t fall downstairs or get stuck. Slick app and easy virtual access and control. The suction is very strong for a vacuum it’s size, but again it is not a full size upright vac which still has its role. We’ve noticed that the unit is very thorough and generally picks up all pet hair and dust. Nice to come home to a spotless house. Highly recommend that you preplan your space before initial setup and mapping. Clearly you live life in your space, but the unit is more effective when not encountering cords and other little clutter type items left about. Think about where it will go routinely and try to get clutter out of its way for maximum effect. For our dusty house with shedding dogs, I’d recommend that you pick up the clean base unit. The robot is smart enough to charge itself when need be, restart a paused cleaning program, and empty itself with the optional clean base. One more recommendation, let the unit map without vacuuming initially to extend your life on a charge and function more efficiently when it runs a cleaning program. The unit is faster and more efficient once it knows your space. We’ve found that it takes a little under two hours to clean a fairly complex thousand square feet of cleanable space. Our unit stops to charge once when about three quarters of the way through the cleaning cycle. In terms of cons, it would be nice if the battery life were a bit longer as we’ve got the one stop to recharge. At least the unit is smart enough to do this for itself. Additionally, the dust collection bin is relatively small. If you have a large area to clean, pets and pet hair as we do, I highly recommend that you splurge on the clean base unit so that the roomba takes itself to the dump bin and empties itself mid cycle as needed. From the somewhat obvious perspective, I wouldn’t expect the unit to do a clean up on a heavy duty mess like a whole box of cereal, liquids, or something of the like dumped on the floor. Again, if used as routine maintainence and upkeep of your floors, this unit will excel in that role.

With two toddlers and a teenager in our house run by "clean-freaks", vacuuming is a daily chore, We have the 2017 model of iRobot Roomba 690 and have been reasonably happy with it. But it does get stuck more than we'd like and the somewhat random method of tracking is very inefficient. That being said, we do have hard floors with throw rugs and basically the most difficult surface area we could use to challenge the Roomba, so we have to forgive it a bit. Still, the Roomba 690 really just became something to do a little touch-up between breaking out the Dyson, or used in smaller, closed spaces with even floor surfaces. So, we took a chance on the new Roomba I7. I rarely write reviews but I know how hard it is to figure out which robot might work and why to pay for what (since I was just doing it myself a month or so ago), so I decided to chime in. For us, our expectations were completely blown out of the water with I7! We'd hoped it might track better than the 690, and WOW it sure does. And getting stuck randomly...haven't seen that at all in about 3 weeks of daily use. The mapping features are simply outstanding now with Roomba I7! We ran the I7 only two times and it figured out the layout of our entire downstairs. Now, I just press Clean, select the room and off goes Roomba I7 to do the job. I don't have to close the room or put up the invisible barrier, just tell it to clean a certain room and it's done. And if I choose for the I7 to Clean All, it does the entire downstairs, each room at a time. It's a very large area, so the battery runs out prior to completion. But If the new I7 runs out of battery while doing a job, it goes back to charge and then starts again when the battery is full. So while there is a "stop" to charge, the entire job gets done with only one action by me. Roomba I7 gets under tables, between chairs and in spaces I never even dreamed could be reached without the Dyson. And unlike the 690, I can use the app to start the I7 anywhere I am and not have to be home to babysit it to get it going again every time it gets stuck (since it only gets stuck if it finds something like a towel on the floor or some obstacle that would jam any vacuum). The I7 is quieter than the 690 too, even with more suction. I believe it's said to have 10x the suction of the 690. I can't say exactly, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in the improved suction power of the I7. Take it from someone who took a chance on Roomba I7; this device actually does what it says it can do.

My wife wanted a robot vacuum but I was skeptical. We watched many video reviews on YouTube and read reviews other places. After much research we thought we would try the Roomba i7. It was entertaining to watch the i7 go on its way learning the layout of the house and the dog wanting to attack it and make sure it wasn't doing anything bad. Once you install the app on your phone, the app will update the i7. The i7 seems to run very well and picks up dirt and debris on many surfaces; we have tile in all three of our bathrooms, high cut pile carpeting in the bedrooms and wood flooring throughout the rest of the house with different thicknesses of rugs here and there. The i7 senses furniture bases and legs by lightly bumping and slowly approaching with sometimes a light touch; this model senses light (it does havea problem in very dark rooms) and objects in its way. You can tell it to vacuum the whole house or just parts of the house (after it has learned your home's layout) using the iRobot app on your phone. A small battery operated virtual barrier device is included in case you want the i7 to avoid the entrance to a room or a circled zone in a room somewhere. As the i7 is performing its duties, in our house, it will need to go back to its home base to charge. It will notify you via the app on your phone if it is charging or if the dust chamber and sensors need to be emptied or cleaned. You can schedule cleaning times on a calendar in the app or just tell it to start cleaning with the app. On the i7 you can touch the CLEAN button twice to make it start cleaning and touch the House/Home button to return home to its charging base. This device is great and we really haven't used our regular vacuum cleaner much at all except for cleaning furniture with crevice tool. The i7 is very convenient and it makes nice vacuum lines in the carpet.

To explain - I've had 3 different robot vacuums - well, technically 4 - before this Roomba. Started out with an Ecovacs Deebot N79. It was good - cleaned well - rambled all over the place, then failed after 7 months. Ecovacs replaced it. I used it for a while then there was a great deal on the updated version, the N79S. Gave the N79 to my daughter then IT failed. Good grief. No warranty support on that one. So I read the Consumer Reports reviews and purchased a Eufy 30C - a bit pricier, but the reviewers raved about it. Gave the N79S to my daughter. I have to tell you, the Eufy is a HUGE disappointment. Gets tangled in everything, doesn't make it back to the charger, doesn't pick up as much dirt as the Ecovacs. Now the other N79S has failed but Ecovacs is replacing it. So I gave the Eufy to my daughter for her second floor, and bit the bullet and bought this Roomba. I've only had it a day, but after 2 sessions I'm already blown away. It is systematic - you can see the grid and the fact that it's mapping - it picks up a lot of dirt - it has made it back to the charging station both times out, and it's not a "wandering search"...no, it makes a bee line straight to the charging station. Sure, it's pricier, but you get what you pay for. Only negative - it's NOISY compared to the Ecovacs and the Eufy, but I can live with the noise to not have to deal with the other frustrations. Do yourself a favor and skip the cheaper products...you'll end up buying this eventually and you can save money in the process.

I’m so glad I got it! Goes around my 2/2 apartment and helps me clean up while I’m doing other chores or while I work remotely. Goes back and recharges by itself. I can see what areas it’s been on the app. At first, the training could take a couple of hours for the mapping to be accurate and completely cover all areas, but worth it. I specifically notice it picks up a lot of dirt and fuzzy material in the carpeted bedrooms. I shed more hair than my own hypoallergenic dog and Roomba picks all the loose strands around the house, especially where you can see them - on the tile floors. Priceless. I personally barely use the broom and pan anymore, but when I do broom the corners, I make a pile and leave it for Roomba to pick it up. And she does! Highly recommend.

We are loving this i7 Roomba cleans great when we need it to. We have it on a weekly schedule to clean on Wednesdays and spot clean doorways on Saturdays. We didn't buy the options bay to clean the bag within the Roomba and we have it to stop when it full so it stops a lot for cleaning. But there are items and dusk inside to clean it is justified. There is an option to continue cleaning when the bin is full but we choose to stop it until cleaned so it does not drag around too much dust. This Roomba will stop charging if you have a larger home to recharge and then continue again when it is full enough to finish. Learning the home in two days and we run it once in a while just to keep it update with small stuff moving around within the house.

If you’re thinking about it, just go for it. You won’t be disappointed. The cleaning is superb, the app even better. You can set schedules for cleaning. After a few cleans (or running a training session), this will map your house, at which point you can go fine tune and rename each room. Then you can tell the vacuum to clean a certain room only if desired. Also it’s Alexa enabled. Get the self cleaning bin separately or bundled with the vacuum, and it’s mostly maintenance free for up to 60 days. Pair this with the Braava robot mop and you won’t have to think about your floors. I literally just watch this thing clean sometimes. It’s detailed. It’s accurate. It will give you those nice straight lines you love to see when you’ve vacuumed your room.

After trying 3 other (cheaper) models of robot vacuums, this one finally met my expectations. It did a great job of mapping our house. It works methodically and rarely needs my assistance. It recognizes objects around it much better than the others I've tried and generally doesn't hit or try to go over things it shouldn't. I like that I can identify no-go zones in the app to avoid areas where we have cords on the floor. It works great on the carpet as well as our hard floors, and hasn't had trouble with area or throw rugs. It's also nice that I can schedule jobs and control it away from home. If I could change anything, I'd make the bin bigger.

This vacuum works much better than my push vacuum (Dyson). It picks up dirt very well. It has gotten stuck only once - although to be fair, I try hard to remove any obstacles, cords, etc. It recharges itself fine when it has large rooms to vacuum. The only issue is that it's memory blocks at 2,500 sq feet. If you have a cleaning space larger than that, it will create an error. Otherwise, I am happy to know what it has vacuumed while mapping out the space. I am working around the memory error by ensuring it has a smaller space to vacuum. I didn't purchase the plus because I wasn't going to spend an extra $200 to not empty the vacuum myself.

This is our first Robot Vacuum and before I had the handheld one. This definitely is a time saver and all the trouble you have to go through with a handheld vacuum. The suction is good, but after running this twice with two pass setting, I was still able to pick some (Minimal) dirt with the handheld vacuum. We don't have any pets. The smart mapping function is a genius. It covers the whole area and never got stuck. The battery could be improved, but it is intelligent enough to resume vacuuming after its charged. Overall I like the product and think could be improved in certain areas. It is definitely not a replacement to your handheld vacuum but, a substitute.

Just to start off, I had a previous Roomba for 12 years and I personally think this brand has been doing things right from the beginning. I had replaced batteries, brushes, filters and everything else that the vacuum wore down with time, but kept on cleaning my house as scheduled for all this time doing a pretty good job. My house is about 2500 SqFt and both my wife and I work so nobody is really in the mood to clean house when we come home, one Roomba was good enough to keep it in check. Every so often we did find the previous model stuck somewhere due to the random pattern. Then we bought a dog and I decided to upgrade to the NEW version. Found it discounted at BestBuy and purchased the I7 model. The set up was a breeze; downloaded the app on Android device, follow the instructions displayed and in a matter of minutes it was up and running. The vacuum started running around on a straight line pattern an started to "scan" the floor plan of my house. First day ran 5 hrs and 18 minutes. Went in every corner and around each piece of furniture we have (a lot of them) and went back to recharge batteries at the charging station every time navigating between chairs, corners and walls like it knew exactly where it was. I emptied out the bin at each occurrence (which it was full) as the suction power of this vacuum is unbelievably strong (compare to my old one). My house has hardwood floors and tile mostly but are covered with area rugs. I have carpets in bedrooms and the amount of dirt that the vacuum pick up is somehow astonishing. The rubber brush system is very effective compared to the conventional one (which was always tangled up with hair and fine fabric on the old one). The height of my carpet is medium. The second day, the cleaning session was under 5 hours and I emptied out another 3 bins, every time the battery was almost depleted it went back recharge and resumed the job where it has left. So far I am very impressed with the technology and the performance of this vacuum. after the 2 runs my house floor plan is 50 percent completed but on the second run it has already tracked the cleaning patterns and showed it to me on my phone at the end of the cleaning session. The only thing that I have realized that I should have purchased with the vacuum was the cleaning station (that can only be attached to this particular model because of the bin configuration ). That would have saved me from emptying out the canister at each "recharge". Unfortunately the price of the combo was a little too steep and I pulled the trigger for just the vacuum. The good thing is that the Base station comes with the modified canister for the automatic disposal included in the package should I have the chance to purchase it later on. I will revise my review once I get one.

Cleans so so well. Scheduling is great because I come home to a clean house every day. For spot cleans I just say “Hey Google, tell Roomba to clean the Kitchen” and off it goes. Bin is small but always lasts a cleaning session if cleaned out prior. Might think about upgrading to the self emptying bin. Has been great for my allergies as there is no dust left in my carpet! Only downside is every so often the spinning brush goes so fast it’ll shoot large pieces of debris around on hardwood, but it usually finds it later and picks it up.

Easy to set up. Vacuum only got hung up once while exploring the house. Does okay with rug fringes but will probably program it to avoid those areas. Was amazed at how much dirt it picked out of previously vacuumed carpeting. Great suction. Easy to empty but am considering buying the automatic emptier. Very satisfied with the quality and performance. Fascinating to watch it while it learned the floor-plan. Rated excellent on value based on sale price.
