Meet Trent Crimm, our new iRobot house Roomba. Trent is an Artificial Intelligence-based robot. He uses AI to map the house, detect dog poop and electric cords (and avoid both), reports to your smart phone app (with pictures) on anything he finds at eye level when he's carrying out a prescheduled vacuuming of a section of the home. Needs no lasers or other devices to ward him away from hazards like the hearth, because you can designate these hazards on the map he's created on your smart phone. And if you want extra attention to a carpet or high traffic area - Trent is more than happy to manage that as well. On each sweeping assignment he reports back on what he's found on the floor and asks if it's a temporary or permanent fixture. He empties himself after each "mission". Admittedly that process is a startlingly loud, but brief, interruption to an otherwise placid morning. This unit came highly rated by WireCutter and I would agree with their assessment even as I laughed at their discussion of a poop picture library to train the bot. The unit is reasonably quiet (but if you are in the room you'll know it's there), and mastered the dust bunnies in short order. He doesn't get "absolutely" everything, but neither did I when I manually did the floors. But cleaning the floors just got A LOT easier. We didn't get the damp mop version only because the home we just moved into is 95% wood flooring and what little damp mopping there is can probably be managed easier manually than having to work with the bot. But others have used a mop version successfully in their apartments. Because I buy all my electronics from Best Buy (ours and college kids) I have Black Tie protection already. That protection covers our bot as well. I'm curious how many years I can get out of this, but with proper maintenance I hope 3-5 if not a few more.

Not perfect or as thourough as doing it by hand but a big help with the puppy hair.

I got mainly to help woth cat litter. It does help but I think it shoild be cheaper.

It has made cleaning up the floor downstairs of my house a breeze. I set a schedule and it runs when everyone is at work and when everyone is done for the night. I run it twice a day because of my two dogs and two cats. The dogs because they bring in the outside and the cats love shedding. It cleans everything and leaves it nice. Only negative is the self cleaning at the base station is very loud. It sounds like a leaf blower going off for about 3-7 seconds.

Easy to setup. With the app it's easy to set up zones that get vacuumed and ones that don’t. You can also use it on more than i floor which is pretty cool.

I love it! Cleans great!! I set timer for 2:30am. It’s so quite I can’t even hear it! Then I wake up to a clean home!!

We have two dogs.. both of which shed a lot. And a toddler that loves to make messes. This handles all of it. Relatively quiet too!

Hands down one of my favorite purchases ever! Instead of vacuuming everyday (darn German shepherds!) my Roomba vacuums every day!

This is our second Roomba, and there’s noticeable upgrades. When it runs, it’s quieter than the previous model. I love how the camera takes pictures of obstacles for your review, so you can add Keep Out zones or just mark it as a temporary obstacle. Also, we have a German Shepherd (aka German Shedder) and this little machine picks up ALL the dog hair on both our tile and carpeted areas. Love it!!

Excellent for hardwood or laminate floors. I have a non-shedding dog that looses small clumps of fur. Anything on the carpet is not picked up by the Roomba. It’s not a deal breaker but it is disappointing. Possibly not strong enough suction?

Wonderful purchase. It keeps my floors clean and has encouraged me to not just toss things on the ground. Highly recommend naming it.

Quiet and very easy to use. Carpet comes out clean & it doesn’t get stuck in places.

This is a great product. I’ve never felt so much relief getting to take vacuuming off of my to-do list. The camera can confuse itself sometimes but it usually re-routes itself. I have seen it spend a long time in small areas but I think it’s still mapping out my house.

My husband purchased this for me for Christmas. Now before you judge, I have requested vacuums for Christmas previously and this is why. I had a 4-5 year old Roomba who has worked very long and hard picking up enough dog hair to make a small dog daily. This one is even better!! It self empties into a bag!! I have allergies so emptying every day would result in lots of sneezing. It has been almost a month and I still haven’t changed out the bag!!

Quick setup, quick connection to Wifi. I have a Golden Retriever. Doesn't pick up a lot of the dog hair. It cleans the Vinyl floors great but leaves lumps of dog hair on the carpets. This means I have to pull out my cordless vacuum and clean the carpets afterwards. So, why do it twice? I'll just use my cordless vac and save a lot of time. By the time I move the chairs, move dog toys, move shoes, close doors; in other words I need to prep the house for the robot. I can take me 10-15 minutes to do it with the cordless and it takes 1 hour for the robot. So after the robot is done (1Hr) it takes me an extra 10 minutes to clean the leftover hair on the rugs. Here is a picture of what I cleaned up AFTER the robot cleaned. BTW, I vacuum every day with the cordless vac so my home is not a wreck, its clean. WHY WASTE THE TIME AND MONEY.

We've had a Roomba for as long as we can remember - after the old Roomba would get caught up on loose cables and other debris, we did some research to see if there's any object-avoidance options -- sure enough, the j7+ was there! Significantly more effective than our older model (~8 years old?). Quieter operation -- but, be warned, the j7+ is EXTREMELY loud when it empties the Roomba contents into the self-emptying receptacle. Shockingly loud really.

Seems pretty good! Used bestbuy rewards to get it for about $350 bucks! I watched so many YouTube videos, and overall this thing seemed to be the best recommended. The vacuum it self is pretty quiet… however, be ready for the self cleaning/empty roar of a jet engine. 1st time that happened holy cow I thought something was about to blow up lol! Definitely something to laugh about after the 1st time you hear it.

Very easy to use. Clean perfect all corners, rugs and floors. You don’t have to attend!!!
