I picked up my j7+ from Best Buy on Friday. I tried to start with a "Mapping Run" (formerly known as a "Training Run" but the app gave no such option. When I could not find any information online about this, I called customer support. After about a 30 minute wait I finally got to talk to a person. Despite her constant reassurances that she would resolve the problem, we got nowhere. She sounded as if she had never seen a Roomba and was showing me answers to several questions. Unfortunately, none of them were my question. On Saturday, I let it make a cleaning run to build a map. After that, the option became available to do a Mapping Run. I did two Mapping Runs back-to-back. It did a very nice job of mapping my house with surprising accuracy. I used the robot on Saturday and Sunday without issue. It seems to clean well and performed well. But now it's Monday. I sent the robot to clean a room, and everything went as expected. After a recharge, I sent it to clean another room, and it might have done it, but I can't be sure because as of the second run today it can no longer show the clean map. It just says Map Unavailable. I tried rebooting. I tried power cycling. I deleted and reinstalled the app. No joy. I called customer service. "Your estimated wait time is more than 30 minutes". I hung up. When this robot worked, it was wonderful. But seriously, for $850 I am pretty sure you can hire a local company to vacuum your floor for more than the 2 days I got from this thing. Support is pretty much non-existent. You get an overseas call center with someone looking up answers, the same as you probably already did. There are not many answers out there yet for the j7 because it's new. I'd suggest buying something else until the online community has had time to work out the bugs and solutions, because calling iRobot will get you nowhere.

Great vacuum, cleans really well, the auto cleaning works great.

This product is terrible. The company iRobot is terrible. Their "satisfaction" policy is a lie (they won't refund your money if you are not satisfied unless you buy directly from them). I have had this for 3 months and the sad thing is the product is performing as designed. It misses a lot of debris, it has recently started throwing errors. I have a Roomba 692 which is a "dumb" model and it works far better than this. I have actually had to send it around after this several times to clean up. It spends more time spinning in a circle trying to be "smart" instead of just vacuuming. Go to rtings and find another manufacturer, it's easy, look at the top performer in any category. You won't find iRobot plastered everywhere.

Love it!! This is replacing an earlier Roomba and there is no comparison!! Battery stays charged so much longer!!

I love this model alot better. The bluetooth capability puts it in a class of its own..

This is our 3rd Roomba and it is by far the best. They keep getting better and better.

Great product; definitely the kings of this segment. Very smart product; almost use it daily.

Wanted a robot vacuum that had no trouble with shag carpet. after going through a couple different ones.. This one worked the best. note - if you need a robot vacuum that does shag or heavy thick carpet. DO NOT get the i9. although it worked great with hardwood floors etc. and normal carpet. it got stuck a lot when it came to the shag.

Very convenient, but if you have time to vacuum you will get the space cleaner. The issue with multi-level homes makes this a niche product. Cleans what it can get to very well but tight corners and under cabinet lips is the main shortcoming

It is very thorough and very smart. I really like how it learns every time it vacuums.

Wish I would have bought a long time ago!! I would recommend one to anybody who is on the fence about buying one.

I love my new J7+. Easy to set up and cleans great for a robot vacuum.

We are happy with our j7+ iRobot. Cleans efficiently, last long on a charge and, scheduling on the phone app is easy. Other reviewers said its loud when emptying and it is but, it doesn’t last long. I would recommend this model.

This is my first robot cleaner, I should have gotten one sooner! Love it !

Having used iRobot Roomba vacuums in the past, and ultimately switching to competitors over the past several years, this robot vacuum brings me back to the iRobot corner. While not perfect it is set up well to make enhancements via software update. The learning process for mapping is long, however, was very accurate. The self-emptying tech can be heard down the street so not the best to run over night. It is efficient and learns as it goes, everyday I notice it make changes. I made this purchase to link to my M6 mop and that feature is flawless. The app has some bugs, but, with a little work it can be great! The robot is sturdy and feels very premium. I wish it had the full circle LED light bar like the M6, but, it’s a nice to have and does not impact performance. Overall for the cost it is a great robot and I would recommend to my friends and family; in fact, I already did.
