When docked and cleaning the vacuum it makes a lot of noise. It “de-fuzzed” our new area rugs, but left the fuzz beside the rugs. Although that only happened the first time it ran.

Just so amazing how advanced technology is. This vacuum does the trick! Cleans very well. Just make sure nothing is on the floor that can get caught. Maps the area fast. Very loud emptying. Other than that. Just perfect! The app sucks a bit, it is very slow and lags a bit.

New Features are Great!

The Roomba now dumps the tiny dust bag itself. This feature IS very noisy, but the normal operation is quiet and efficient. This model will also map the house so it can be told to vacuum certain areas. We are pleased with our new upgrade.

My previous iRobot took over 90 minutes to complete a cycle. The j7 takes only 30 minutes and does a better job. I just love the self emptying feature. This unit is a must have for anyone upgrading.

Unlike my previous iRobots, this one would often stop in the middle of a room despite having a full battery. I frequently had to search for it and manually press the button to get it to resume cleaning. The final straw was a persistent software update issue. I followed all the troubleshooting steps like resetting it as instructed, unplugging it, checking my Wi-Fi, and ensuring it was properly docked, but nothing worked for weeks. Ultimately, I had to return it because I couldn’t get it to function again.

It balls it up on rug but very simple to just pick up. Warning if you have the pet lock function on and you change your Wi-Fi you might never get the robot to unlock. iRobot had to send me a new robot.
